The Mysteries of Laura Premiered on NBC on September 17, 2014

Debra Messing ("Will & Grace") stars as Laura Diamond, a brilliant NYPD homicide detective who balances her "Columbo" day job with a crazy family life that includes two unruly twin boys and a soon-to-be ex-husband - also a cop - who just can't seem to sign the divorce papers. Between cleaning up after her boys and cleaning up the streets, she'd be the first to admit she has her "hot mess" moments in this hilariously authentic look at what it really means to be a "working mom" today. Somehow she makes it all work with the help of her sexy and understanding partner. For Laura, every day is a high-wire balancing act.

The cast also includes Laz Alonso and Janina Gavankar.

Writer Jeff Rake ("Boston Legal") and director McG ("Supernatural") serve as executive producers with Greg Berlanti ("Brothers & Sisters"), Aaron Kaplan ("The Neighbors"), Todd Lituchy and Sarah Schechter. Nice start with Laura shooting the bad guy but what her kids did at school was unbelievable and I'm not surprised they were expelled, missing a killer by seconds was unfortunate and at least the killer had to be someone in the house but her boss being the killer was a surprising twist

Not sure how i felt about that but her boss killing the guy while they were in the room was very fast that has got to be fastest murder we seen on a tv show which is saying a lot with amount of tv shows we watched. Laura kids are handful but with a husband like that is bad enough but having him as your new boss is awful.

It going get a bit annoying if every episode she start with trying tease criminal . Going on dating website to catch a killer was good attempt she got him and what a way to find a babysitter for your kids .

The five second rule after using her tazer was disturbing and what a great way to get attention in the ladies lingerie shop but loosening the knot so she would fall was amusing and trust them to put Laura in more danger with the power cut

Threatening to ground her boys till the apocalypse was amusing and defending them against the neighbour was amusing but Max getting caught checking up on the babysitter was priceless, the tight trousers might look hot but God help her when she needs the toilet

The alleged mistress involved in the sex scandal being killed while Laura was following her was a surprise but who killed her and why was unbelievable

yes but Laura finding the reporter at dominatrix place was priceless

This was an interesting case of taking over some identity and kill them to become them but nothing get past laura and she seem to be only competent detective in the station which is ridclous.

The way the land lady keeled over after what she thought were Mark's remains in the bath was amusing and using her oxygen mask was surprising, Laura getting punched by an undercover DEA agent looked real and what a lucky break catching the stutter otherwise he would of got away clean
