Co-star 'concerned' for Pattinson safety

Twilight actor Michael Welch has expressed concern for the growing level of fame surrounding co-star Robert Pattinson.

The 21-year-old, who plays Mike Newton in the vampire franchise, told MTV News that he was stunned to learn that Pattinson was reportedly clipped by a taxi as he attempted to flee fans in New York.

"I don't see how this is sustainable - is this gonna keep going for the rest of his life?" he said.

"I understand it, it's Edward Cullen, I get it. But he's still Rob Pattinson first - he's still his own guy. Is it time to start getting concerned here?... It's tough, man. I don't know where his life is really headed."

Welch, who previously compared Pattinson's fame to that of President Barack Obama, added that he "would not wish" to ever experience the same level of recognition.

"I don't wish I had Rob's life at all. I'm glad he's okay. And as long as people don't start ripping at him and breaking him in two, I think we'll be okay... I wish him the best, and hope he's going to be all right," he said.

The second instalment in the Twilight saga, New Moon, is released in November.

Ryan O'Neal Shuts Down Farrah Fawcett's Website

We just got our hands on a letter Ryan O'Neal's lawyer fired off to the guy who ran a Farrah Fawcett website, demanding that he stop pretending it's her official site and then asking for money.

Greg Lott -- who claims to have been Farrah's high school sweetheart -- has been writing brutal posts about Ryan, claiming he's been running around with other women while Farrah was sick and making all sorts of drug allegations.

Ryan's high-powered law firm just sent Lott a cease and desist letter, demanding that he shut down the site, stop soliciting money, stop making defamatory comments about Ryan, stop splashing images of Farrah around town and stop selling Farrah-related merchandise.

Lott took his site down after receiving the letter, which was dated June 23.

Actress Farrah Fawcett dies, aged 62

Actress Farrah Fawcett has died of cancer at the age of 62.

It was reported earlier today that she had been admitted to an intensive care unit following a deterioration in her health.

The former Charlie's Angels star had been battling anal cancer for three years. She had been given the all-clear in 2007, however, the disease later returned.

Earlier this week, the actress's long-term boyfriend Ryan O'Neal revealed that he planned to marry her. The couple started dating in the 1980s, while they had one son together called Redmond, 24, who is currently serving a prison sentence for drug use.

From 1973 to 1982, Fawcett was married to Six Million Dollar Man actor Lee Majors.

She picked up a number of Golden Globe and Emmy nominations and in 1995 she was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

Hayden on Movie Nudity: "You Never Know"

Hayden Panettiere has no problem showing some skin.

In her new movie, I Love You, Beth Cooper (in theaters July 10), Ms. Panettiere stars as the most popular girl in high school who is the object of the school nerd's affection. In one scene, with her back to the camera, she drops her towel in the locker room to impress her geeky suitor, played by Paul Rust.

So just how naked was she? Read on to find out...

"I was really naked," the 18-year-old starlet tells me. "I had these little sticky petals on my boobs, but that was about it. My dad calls me such an exhibitionist. He always says, 'God, even when you were little, you were such an exhibitionist!' "

Even so, Panettiere has no plans to go frontal for the cameras...yet.

"I'm cool with my body, and I'm cool running around undressed and all that stuff, but there are just certain things that not everyone needs to know, that you need to keep somehow private and personal to you," she said. "But you never know, you never know. I could be 30 years old and just be like, 'Screw it—I want to take it all off. I better take a picture of this baby before it all goes.' "

Leona, Beyoncé, Timberlake for Jackson gigs?

Leona Lewis, Beyoncé and Justin Timberlake are among the stars rumoured to be filling Michael Jackson's O2 tour dates.

According to The Sun, tour promoters AEG are planning a benefit gig in honour of Jackson, who died on Thursday.

The 'Man In The Mirror' singer had signed for a series of gigs at the O2 arena in London prior to his death.

Diana Ross, Sir Paul McCartney and Usher have also reportedly been approached for the tribute.

Earlier this week, it was reported that AEG Live could face a £300 million insurance liability.

Jackson heading for No.1 on UK album chart

Michael Jackson's Number Ones is set to hit number one in the UK albums chart tomorrow, after a wave of sales following the superstar's death on Thursday.

The Official Charts Company has announced that the hits album is set to rise straight to the top of the chart, with up to half a dozen other albums also expected to move up into the Top 75.

Jackson's death is is also expected to impact on the singles chart, with a handful of tracks set to move into the Top 40. 'Man In The Mirror', 'Billie Jean' and 'Thriller' are so far proving to be the most popular titles with fans.

The final charts will be confirmed on Radio One's Official Chart Show tomorrow, from 4pm to 7pm.

Pitchman Billy Mays Found Dead

TMZ has confirmed TV pitchman Billy Mays was found dead today in his home in Tampa, Florida early this morning.

According to the Tampa PD, the 50-year-old TV pitchman was found unresponsive by his wife Deborah at 7:45 AM.

TMZ has learned Mays' body has already been removed from his home.

Mays had just returned from Philadelphia, where he shot a new OxiClean commercial. He was a passenger aboard a plane that suffered a blown front tire upon landing. He told a local TV station, "All of a sudden as we hit you know it was just the hardest hit, all the things from the ceiling started dropping. It hit me on the head, but I got a hard head."

We're told Mays was at his home around 6:00 PM last night, and according to a source Mays was "acting fine and normal ... he was talking business with his father-in-law."

According to cops, there are no signs of forced entry to the residence and no foul play is suspected.

The Medical Examiner's office is expected to complete the autopsy by tomorrow afternoon.

Billy's wife Deborah just released the following statement:

Although Billy lived a public life, we don't anticipate making any public statements over the next couple of days. Our family asks that you respect our privacy during these difficult times.

FAA -- Billy Wasn't Wearing a Seat Belt on Plane

The FAA is already deflecting blame for the death of Billy Mays -- claiming the legendary TV pitchman wasn't wearing a seat belt when he took a shot to the head during a rough landing on a flight he was on yesterday.

Here's what we know -- Billy Mays was aboard US Airways Flight 1241 flying from Philadelphia, which landed roughly when the front tire blew out as it touched down. After the flight, Billy told FOX 13 in Tampa that something struck him in the head -- here's Billy's actual quote:

"All of a sudden as we hit you know it was just the hardest hit, all the things from the ceiling started dropping. It hit me on the head, but I got a hard head."

We called the FAA for comment, and a spokesperson told us, "The passenger needs to wear a seat belt during landing and he didn't."

A spokesperson for US Airways did not want to comment until more information comes to light.

Billy posted about it last on his Twitter last night, saying, "Just had a close call landing in Tampa. The tires blew out upon landing. Stuck in the plane on the runway. You can always count on US Air."

Despite their recent late-night dinner together, Bradley Cooper is just friends with Jennifer Aniston.

That's what the Hangover star told reporters (in fluent French, no less!) while attending a Louis Vuitton event in Paris.

"She's a friend of mine," the actor said. "Simply, simply, just a friend."

So what about those sightings from their cozy dinner?

"She's someone who is super, super known," he explained to the French media. "If someone says hello to her, it's given that he's fallen in love with her. So, no. No. She's a very, very interesting woman, but she's simply a friend."

Pattinson 'warned against Stewart romance'

Robert Pattinson has reportedly been warned by his relatives that he should not start dating Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart.

The actor, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the franchise, has been linked to Stewart (Bella Swan) in several tabloids since the blockbuster movie was released last year.

Speaking to Life & Style, his aunt Diana Nutley said: "I don't think it would be a good idea for Robert to be in a serious relationship with Kristen.

"How can he live his life with a fellow star, with their every move being watched just like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes?"

Nutley, who is the sister of Pattinson's mother, added: "He's only 23 and probably won't get married until he's 40, if he's got any sense... I think he will eventually come back home to England and fall in love with somebody he's known since school."

Pattinson recently admitted that he found the rumours about his relationship with Stewart to be "really bizarre", insisting that they are just friends.

Vanessa Hudgens has reportedly banned her boyfriend Zac Efron from seeing Megan Fox after being left 'humiliated' by their recent 'date'.

The High School Musical actress was allegedly devastated after reports emerged that Efron and Transformers star Fox had been spotted cosying up at a romantic dinner in LA.

A friend of Hudgens told the National Enquirer: "Vanessa feels humiliated by what she perceives to be Zac cheating on her. It stings so much more because Megan is one of the hottest women on the planet."

The insider continued: "Vanessa demanded Zac cut all ties with Megan and swore if he didn't, they were finished. Zac's going along with Vanessa's demands for now. Kiefer Sutherland Off the Hook for Head-Butt

What Kiefer Sutherland did was pretty dumb, but not criminal.

As expected, the Manhattan District Attorney's Office has opted not to prosecute the actor for misdemeanor assault in connection with his fight with designer Jack McCollough in May.

New York police threw the book at Sutherland in April, but the case had been going nowhere since the 24 star and McCollough issued a joint "all is well" statement not long after Sutherland's head met McCollough's nose in one of the dirtiest cheap shots since Johnny swept the leg in Karate Kid.

"Do you think that you're Jack Bauer?" Late Night host Jimmy Fallon asked Sutherland during his May 21 appearance on the show.

"Absolutely not, absolutely not," the Emmy winner said. "I learned that really clearly the first season."

"We can joke about it, I guess," Sutherland added, "but it's something I really regret having happened."

Jolie 'walks out on Pitt after fight'

Angelina Jolie walked out on Brad Pitt after an argument last Sunday, according to reports.

The couple, who are currently renting an LA property, reportedly had a fight after throwing a first birthday party for their twins Vivienne and Knox.

A friend of the couple told Grazia magazine: "Minutes after the argument, she got up, threw together a bag of clothes and ran to her car. She checked straight into a suite at the Raffles L'Ermitage hotel."

John Travolta to Quit Scientology?

John Travolta is threatening to quit the Church of Scientology, it has been claimed.

The Hollywood legend is apparently keen to distance himself from the controversial religion, of which he has been a prominent and generous benefactor, following the death of his 16-year-old son Jett.

Jett died on January 2, 2009 after suffering a seizure at the Travolta family holiday home in the Bahamas.

Travolta is said to be angry that Scientology was unable to help Jett, who was widely reported to have suffered from autism.

However, if he leaves the church, the organization will go public with embarrassing details of his private life, including, it is claimed, allegations of past homosexual relationships, according to Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper.

“There have been strong rumours coming out of Scientology that John Travolta is disappointed that the religion was not able to help his son more,’ Rick Ross, an American author and lecturer on Scientology, told the paper. “It’s led him to question his faith.

“I think it would be very difficult for John Travolta at this stage, given his history with the religion, to extricate himself from the Church of Scientology.

“It would be a huge move on his part because Scientology keeps files on its celebrity members containing embarrassing personal information about them.

“And Scientology has proven in the past that it has a penchant for releasing that information to embarrass people who have left and who have said things it doesn’t like.

“If celebrities leave, they tend to do it quietly and keep their mouths shut, because if they do speak out, they are opening themselves up to attack from Scientology.

“That’s why I think Travolta will want to keep his problems with the Church private.”

Travolta’s pals are said to be worried about the Grease star’s mental health due to his bizarre nocturnal ritual on the private runway that services his Jumbolair estate.

“We often see John driving himself around at night,” one of Travolta’s neighbors said.

Mark Wahlberg is officially off the market!

The actor wed girlfriend Rhea Durham on Saturday, it has been confirmed.

The couple — who are parents to Ella, 5, Michael, 3 and 10-month-old Brendan — tied the knot Saturday afternoon in a small ceremony at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The nuptials lasted around 50-minutes and was attended by a small group of the couple’s closest friends and family.

“It was a beautiful, intimate ceremony with only about 15 of Mark and Rhea’s closest family and friends attending,” an eyewitness said. “Their eldest daughter Ella looked very pretty in a white dress and she was very proud to be the flower girl.”

“Mark choked up when he was reading his vows — he was more nervous than Rhea,” says another eyewitness who adds that the inside of the church was decorated with pink and violet flowers and candles.

Wahlberg donned a dark suit and the bride wore a white strapless Marchesa dress with silver embroidery and a Neil Lane diamond-and-platinum cushion-cut ring complemented by a diamond bracelet and earrings. “She looked like a princess and beyond stunning. Mark looked ecstatic,” a source told People magazine.

After the wedding, the newlyweds snuck out of the back of the church with their children and headed for a private reception.

Wahlberg, 38, revealed earlier this year his plans to wed Durham, 31. “We’re talking about August,” he said. “It will be in a Catholic church somewhere.”

Douglas son 'faces drugs trial'

The son of Michael Douglas is to stand trial after being accused of dealing methamphetamine, it has been reported.

Cameron Douglas allegedly sent large amounts of the drug from California to New York between 2006 and 2009, the BBC reports.

If found guilty, he will go to prison for a minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life.

His accomplices in transporting the illegal drugs are co-operating with the US Drug Enforcement Administration, according to court records.

Cameron was arrested on July 28. A further court date has not yet been given.

Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson has a new joy worth its weight in gold -- a baby boy!

"Oscar-winning-actress and Grammy-winning-recording-artist Jennifer Hudson and her fiancée David Otunga welcomed their first child, David Daniel Otunga Jr., on Monday," her rep tells ET.

David weighed 7 lbs., 14 oz. "The baby is beautiful and perfect," says Hudson's rep adds. "His parents are ecstatic."
