Text Message Ignites Rihanna/Brown Violence

Law enforcement sources confirm to TMZ Chris Brown received a text message from a woman while he was driving with Rihanna and that's what started the confrontation that left Rihanna battered and bruised.

We're told the text message was from a woman who wrote about hooking up with Brown later.

We've also learned there is a reference in the police report to an argument over a rapper, but we've learned this is NOT what triggered the argument. The woman who text messaged Brown is not a rapper.

As for Rihanna's injuries, we continue to learn more. Cops took multiple pictures at the scene. Chris Brown allegedly hit Rihanna so hard with his fists, she could barely open her eyes for the photos -- they were almost completely swollen shut. She had a fat lip, her mouth was swollen, her nose was badly bloodied, and she had contusions on her forehead and both sides of her face.

Asians Want $4 Billion From Miley Cyrus

Lucie J. Kim claims to represent more than 1 million Asian Pacific Islanders who live in L.A. County. Kim claims when Cyrus posed for the photo, she "knew or should have known that her image would be publicly disseminated via the media, which Cyrus knew focused on her private life, specifically TMZ."

Kim says in the suit, filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, that each Asian Pacific Islander is entitled to the minimum damages for a civil rights violation -- $4,000. Add it up -- $4 billion!

Kim says Miley's "just a kid" defense doesn't fly. She says it's like Paris Hilton claiming to be just a kid. Ouch.

Miley's peeps could not immediately be reached for comment.

Well That's never going to happen as the Asian guy in the photo is a friend and he did not mind and if they have filed a case then should it not be against everyone in the picture and not just the rich girl. Some people are trying to make a quick buck in my opinion.

Weakness in Chris Brown Case -- Prior Attacks

Chris Brown may have gotten lucky because the charge he was booked on is kinda weak, law enforcement sources tell TMZ. But he's still in big trouble, and Rihanna says it's not the first time he's attacked her.

Sources say the Los Angeles County District Attorney kicked the case back to the police for further investigation because evidence that he made criminal threats against Rihanna is kind of thin. Our sources are quick to say he will, however, almost certainly be charged with felony domestic battery, a lesser offense but still serious.

Here's how it went down, according to the police report. After Chris received a text message from a woman who wrote about getting together, an argument erupted. By the way, initially, Rihanna would not tell cops what started the argument.

She did, however, tell them that during the argument, he started hitting her. According to the police report, she ordered him to drive her home and "faked a call" to someone, saying things like, "He's dropping me off. Make sure the cops are there."

Rihanna told cops the fake call enraged Brown. He said something to the effect of "You are really fu**ed up now. I'm going to kill you." This statement is the basis of the criminal threats charge.

At that point, according to the report, Brown allegedly began a violent attack with his fists. At some point, Rihanna took the keys out of the ignition and threw them outside.

And there's this. According to the police report, she told cops this was not the first time Brown hit her. She referred to it as an ongoing and escalating abusive relationship.

We're told the criminal threats charge is based on that one statement Brown allegedly made. As one law enforcement source told us, "It's kinda weak, and the D.A. is not going to prosecute a high profile case like this unless it's solid." That's why it was kicked back for further investigation.

Given the brutal nature of the attack, which the photos clearly show -- contusions on the face, swollen eyes, cut lip, bloody nose, bite marks on fingers and arm -- a felony domestic battery charge is virtually a done deal. That, however, is a less serious offense than making criminal threats.

Here's what went down. Yesterday morning, a process server went to Ghalib's Encino apartment to hand him legal papers ordering him to appear in the restraining order case.

The process server was waiting for Adnan Ghalib in the alley when Ghalib rolled up and allegedly hit the dude with his car. The process server says he landed on the hood of Adnan's car.

Adnan allegedly fled the scene and the process server called cops at 10:42 AM. Police arrived and noticed the process server had cuts and scratches, but he refused treatment.

USHER’S WIFE SUFFERS HEART ATTACK

The wife of R&B star Usher is recovering from a heart attack she suffered just before undergoing a plastic surgery procedure, says the Associated Press.
Last Friday, Tameka Raymond went into cardiac arrest while being anesthetized for a "simple liposuction" at a hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil, a rep for Raymond's plastic surgeon tells the AP. She was "revived in less than a minute by heart massage," placed in an induced coma, and taken to the intensive-care unit, the doctor's rep says.
Later that day, doctors transferred Raymond to another hospital to begin her recovery. She remains hospitalized there, a rep for the medical center tells the AP.

Jessica Simpson Avoids Split Pants With Skort

Jessica Simpson took her Rascal Flatts opening act to Madison Square Garden last night, and it was a good news/bad news scenario.
According to Newsday, she remembered all her song lyrics, made no desperate dedications to Tony and didn't cry a single time—no Grand Rapids repeat here.
But it wasn't all positive. While she was smart enough to leave her high-waisted chili cookoff jeans at home, she had to go and ruin a seemingly harmless outfit by wearing something just as bad: a skort. Naturally, she explained this to the audience in an effortlessly elegant manner that has become her trademark:
"I've had times when my pants split right down the middle when I bent down to reach a note. That's why I'm wearing a skort—not a skirt, not a short—just so they wouldn't split."
At least she's...um, honest?

Jay-Z: 'Brown is a walking dead man'

Jay-Z has issued a warning to Chris Brown amid allegations that he assaulted girlfriend Rihanna.

The rapper called Brown a "walking dead man" after learning that the 'Umbrella' singer had suffered "horrific" injuries in an alleged altercation earlier this week.

"Chris is a walking dead man. He messed with the wrong crew," he told Us Weekly.

Meanwhile, Kanye West has admitted that he was "devastated" by the news.

"It’s so devastating, that should never happen. I feel like [Rihanna's] my baby sis and I would do anything and everything to help her in any situation," he told KIIS-FM.

Brown has been charged with one count of making felony criminal threats. He was freed on $50,000 bail and will appear in court on March 5.

Jayson Williams' Wife Wants D from Jay

The wife of former NBA star Jayson Williams is throwing everything plus the kitchen sink in a new divorce filing -- a sink in which he allegedly urinated.

Tanya Young Williams claims she's the victim of "cruel and inhumane treatment" and that it's unsafe to live with her hubby anymore.

In divorce papers filed today in New York City and obtained by TMZ, Tanya claims, among other things, Jayson faked suicide and stomach cancer, and told her he was "going down on white girls" (she's Black).

Tanya also claims she found cocaine and condoms in Jayson's drawer. She says he threatened to kill her and once threatened to kill her. She also says Williams repeatedly refilled prescriptions for Cialis, even though they had limited sexual interaction.

And she claims he peed in the sink.

Tanya wants a cut of Jayson's assets, their New York home, sole custody of their two kids, spousal support and other stuff.

Williams is awaiting retrial for allegedly shooting his chauffeur to death.

A rep for Williams could not be reached for comment.

Rihanna 'agrees to dump' Chris Brown

Rihanna has decided to end her relationship with Chris Brown following their alleged altercation last weekend, according to a report.

Brown was arrested on February 8 amid claims that he had turned violent in an argument with the 'Disturbia' singer.

The News Of The World has now suggested that Rihanna considered taking Brown back following the incident, but changed her mind following discussions with her family and close friends.

An insider revealed: "Rihanna really did think that Chris was the love of her life. But when everyone started to question their relationship, she burst into tears and reluctantly agreed that they were right. She just can’t believe it's ended this way."

Brown's father recently insisted that the R&B star is "very remorseful", but warned that there are "two sides to every story".

Jay-Z -- Chris Who?

Jay-Z weighed in yesterday on the Rihanna situation, asking that everyone support her while she goes through this "tough time." And by "tough time" we think he means the whole assault thing.

But what's more important is what the rapper didn't say -- specifically, anything about the guy who actually beat the crap out of the singer -- allegedly.

Just seems like the right moment to talk about the whole domestic violence thing. But rappers are sounding more like insurance reps, guarding their words like muthas. The best is Ray J, who wished both Chris B and Rihanna "the best." Mr. J sounds like a Hallmark card.

Rihanna's Dad to Chris -- Who Are You?

Rihanna's dad had some choice words about Chris Brown: "You think you know somebody, but you really don't."

Ronald Fenty told People his daughter is healing in Barbados and gives her this gentle caution -- "If it were me, I'd move on."

And famous last words -- Fenty said, "They seemed pretty happy."

As we first reported, Brown allegedly struck Rihanna with his fists, bruising her forehead, cheeks, busting her lip, bloodying her nose and biting her fingers and arm. He was arrested for making criminal threats ("I will kill you') but we're told that case is weak. It's more likely he'll be prosecuted for felony domestic violence.

I don't see how he can justify what he did as you should never hit a woman.

Chris Brown: I'm Really Sorry

It only took Chris Brown a week since we broke the story of his alleged beatdown of Rihanna to release a statement... but here it is.

"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writing under my name are frauds."

No Pot Charges for Phelps

The ridiculously stupid Michael Phelps pot investigation is finally over.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said today he was not going to charge Michael Phelps over that photo of him smoking a bong.

The photo was taken at a party in November when Phelps visited the University of South Carolina. Sheriff Lot defended his investigation by saying, "Michael Phelps is truly an American hero ... but even with his star status, he is still obligated to obey the laws of our state."

Eight other people were arrested in connection with the photo -- seven for possession and one for dealing.
