TV Director/Producer Lorre Given Hollywood Star

Director/producer Chuck Lorre has been honoured with the 2380th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The brains behind hit TV sitcoms Two And A Half Men and The Big Bang Theory was handed the accolade on Thursday, with comedy stars Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer on hand to pay tribute to Lorre.

Presenting the award, Sheen publicly thanked Lorre for helping to revive his flailing career, following a well-publicised drug battle.

He said, "Through your brilliant and tireless commitment to our insanely dysfunctional, yet lovable TV family, you have changed my life forever, both personally and professionally."

And Lorre dedicated the star to his children, Asa and Nikki, crediting them with inspiring him to succeed.

Accepting the award, he told the crowd, "I've had angels in my life that have carried me. There's a series of miracles that lead to something as extraordinary as this.

"When they (my kids) were born, I was determined to take care of them, no matter what. No matter what leads to here."

Lorre is also well known for his work on 1990s hit shows Cybill, Grace Under Fire, and Dharma & Greg.

Anderson Bids To Free Florida Chimps

Pamela Anderson has joined forces with animal rights campaigners in a bid to free apes kept in "squalid' captivity in the U.S. state of Florida.

Anderson has written an open letter to Florida governor Charlie Crist, targetting 'road-side zoos' in the state, where she claims chimpanzees and other animals are kept in inadequate enclosures.

The actress warns a tragic accident - like the chimpanzee attack in Connecticut in February that left a woman maimed - is just waiting to happen.

Anderson - a regular campaigner for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) - writes, "With so many frustrated great apes stewing in squalid facilities in Florida, it is only a matter of time before a similar tragedy strikes your state. PETA and I appeal to you to take action to prevent Florida's roadside zoos from keeping great apes and to ensure that these intelligent primates are transferred to approved sanctuaries to live out the remainder of their lives in suitable surroundings."

The former Baywatch star is heading to Florida this weekend to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Animal Rights Foundation of Florida.

Rihanna Wants Right to Remain Silent ... in Court

Sources connected with Chris Brown and Rihanna tell TMZ Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, wants the judge to give Rihanna a pass from testifying because of leaks in the case.

We're told Geragos and Rihanna's lawyer, Donald Etra, believe Rihanna was compromised when her name surfaced as the alleged victim in the beating. They claim this and other leaks violate her privacy rights and therefore she should not have to further put herself out to the public by testifying against Brown in the case.

It's further proof Rihanna and Brown are back together and in lockstep.

Geragos asked to meet with the judge in chambers, along with the prosecutors, on March 23 to discuss letting Rihanna off the hook. Brown's arraignment is set for April 6.

Howard K. Stern's Attorney Issues a Statement

Today, Krista Barth, one of the attorneys for Howard K. Stern, issued a statement in conjunction with Stern's arrest alleging he supplied drugs to the late Anna Nicole Smith.

Barth defends her client against the "false accusations published about him" and says that "his accusers have been shown to have no credibility due to their conflicting stories."

Here is the entire text:

"For over two years, I have represented Howard K. Stern in connection with civil litigation arising out his relationship with Anna Nicole Smith and false accusations published about him, including representing Mr. Stern in the body custody proceedings. In the course of that litigation, I have spent hundreds of hours reviewing depositions under oath or interviews of almost every principal witness claiming to possess first hand knowledge of Mr. Stern's relationship with Anna Nicole [Smith]. His accusers have been shown to have no credibility due to their conflicting stories, to have a bias based on their own personal agendas or to have no factual basis to support their accusations. Given the knowledge obtained from these various cases, I am confident that the criminal charges brought against Mr. Stern last evening by the State of California will likewise be shown to have no factual basis and that Mr. Stern will ultimately be exonerated with respect to his conduct.

"I would remind the public that the fundamental principle of our criminal justice system is that an individual is presumed innocent. Publicity efforts by the State of California last night and today in connection with the filing of the charges against Mr. Stern are inconsistent with that principle and jeopardize Mr. Stern's constitutional right to a fair trial. With formal charges having been filed, this case should not be tried in the court of public opinion and Mr. Stern has no intention of doing so. However, Mr. Stern and I are mindful of the reality that he has for the past several years found himself on trial in the media. The media trial of Mr. Stern has been based on constant shouts of guilty from a barrage of uninformed commentators based on totally inaccurate and often manufactured "facts." The television, tabloid and Internet trial of Mr. Stern in the court of public opinion has been based on sensational lies, speculation, rumor and gossip. Unfortunately, it appears that criminal charges have now been brought by the State of California based on this same type of misinformation.

"Mr. Stern will continue efforts to have the evidence in his civil cases unsealed and made available for public inspection and review so that hopefully any future media discussions will be informed ones, based on the actual facts and not sensationalized accusations that have no factual or legal merit. If this occurs, future discussions will focus on Mr. Stern's innocence."

Cops at Lindsay's House

UPDATE: 4:20 PM ET Here's the latest. The cops have left the house. We're told the LAPD will not arrest Lindsay for the warrant, at least not now. Sources say Lindsay will not surface until the court hearing on Monday. If she does go out in public and cops see her she risks getting arrested. So it's unlikely she will show her face -- if she's smart -- until Monday AM.

The cops have left the front door but they're still in the area. One of the cars left the house but is parked up the street. Word is they may arrest Lindsay and take her to jail.

UPDATE 3:40 PM ET: The cops now tell us they were called for a disturbance and not there to arrest Lindsay.

Sam and Lindsay have gotten into a nuclear fight at Sam's house. The police are at their front door to talk to Lindsay and Sam but they will not open the door. The two are definitely still in the house.

Corrie's Marsh 'may quit for Hollywood'

Coronation Street star Kym Marsh is considering quitting the show to make a fresh start in the US, according to a report.

The actress, who plays Michelle Connor on the ITV1 soap, is said to be making plans for her long-term future following the sad loss of her premature baby Archie last month.

Marsh's partner Jamie Lomas announced that he is quitting his role as Warren Fox in Hollyoaks earlier this week. He is now expected to search for acting work in Hollywood.

A source told The People: "Kym is contracted to Coronation Street until next year so she couldn't feasibly quit until then and wouldn't want to either.

"But the chance to start a new career in Los Angeles might be just what she needs after losing the baby.

"The tragedy has brought Kym and Jamie closer together. And if he does get a job in America, it would make sense, given the interest in her, for Kym to get work there too."

However, a Coronation Street spokesman insisted: "Kym is 100% committed to the show. She has no plans to look for work in America or to live there.

Window Smashed In Lohan-ronson Fight

Lindsay Lohan's relationship with Samantha Ronson is reportedly on the rocks again - after a furious bust-up at the DJ's home resulted in a smashed window.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning after Lohan spent Friday night partying with pals at hotel Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, before paying a late night visit to the home of actor Jack Nicholson.

Lohan left Nicholson's house in the early hours of Saturday and headed to Ronson's residence, reports People.com.

The DJ arrived home a few hours later and the pair allegedly began to argue loudly before a neighbour called police.

Shortly afterwards a side window of the house was smashed, sending glass flying across a path.

A source tells WENN, "The police were called in by a neighbour after a loud argument between Lindsay and Sam, which could be heard out on the street.

"At one point, something went flying through a side window, shattering glass on the side walkway of the house.

"Lapd officers pounded at the front door but Lindsay or Sam did not open the door."

A representative for Lohan could not be reached as WENN went to press.

The Lowdown on Lindsay

Lindsay Lohan is technically a wanted woman, but it's unlikely she'll be arrested before her showdown in court tomorrow.

As we reported, a Beverly Hills judge issued the warrant Friday after honchos from the alcohol ed program claimed Lindsay wasn't complying with the terms of her probation. We're told the alleged violation is not about her using drugs or alcohol -- it's about enrollment in the program... something her new lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, calls a "misunderstanding."

Cops were called to Sam's home yesterday after Sam and Lindsay got in a nuclear argument. Police went to the door but Lindsay and Sam wouldn't open it. LAPD sources say they will not arrest Lindsay on the warrant, partly because of confusion over the manner in which it was issued.

Lindsay is in hiding now. She won't go near Bev Hills because cops there will arrest her if they find her.

We're told as of now she won't appear in court tomorrow morning. That will change if the judge demands her presence.

Lindsay Lohan arrest warrant update: She will not appear in court on Monday

A warrant for Lindsay Lohan's arrest was issued on Friday, but a lawyer for the actress says Lohan will not appear in court on Monday. Her lawyer will appear on her behalf, the Associated Press reports.

Shawn Chapman Holley, Lohan's attorney, told the AP that the warrant was the result of a "misunderstanding." The warrant may have to do with Lohan's drunken driving arrest in 2007, a police spokeswoman told the AP. On Saturday, Beverly Hills Police Lt. Mark Rosen said that the police were not ''actively looking'' for Lohan, though if they came in contact with her, "she's subject to arrest." The star, whose film Labor Pains opens in May, is currently serving three years' probation for the May and July, 2007 incidents, in which she was alleged to have been in possession of cocaine. In 2007, Lohan was sentenced to three-years probabtion. She spent 84 minutes in jail. Her attorney told the AP that Lohan is in compliance with the terms of her probation.

Michael Phelps Opens Up about the Night Bong Photo was Taken

Olympic swimming champ Michael Phelps talks to Matt Lauer on NBC's "Dateline" about the night in South Carolina when the controversial photo was taken of him allegedly smoking from a bong.

Lohan's Dad Hopes Arrest Warrant Is A 'Wake-up Call'

Lindsay Lohan's father Michael has blamed his daughter's latest run-in with the law on her "toxic" relationship with girlfriend Samantha Ronson.

Los Angeles cops issued a warrant for the Mean Girls star's arrest on Friday in relation to her 2007 driving under the influence (DUI) conviction, which saw her sentenced to 24 hours in jail.

Authorities claimed they weren't "actively looking" for the star, but would arrest Lohan if they came into contact with her.

The actress' lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley insisted the warrant was "born out of a misunderstanding", and insisted the affair would be cleared up in due course.

Now, Michael Lohan has told reporters he believes the root of his daughter's problems come from her being with Ronson - insisting he hopes the warrant for her arrest is the "wake-up call" she needs to break up with her lesbian lover.

He says, "I love Lindsay. I've been telling everyone this relationship with Sam (Ronson) is toxic. Hopefully this is a wake-up call for her because we all really want her to get her life better.

"I'm here for her 100 per cent. But nothing is going to get better with Sam Ronson in her life."

Michael Lohan's comments come just days after police were called to Ronson's L.A. residence following reports of a furious bust-up between the pair which resulted in a smashed window at the DJ's home.
