Mayer Dumps Aniston?

Rocker John Mayer's on-off relationship with Jennifer Aniston is off again, according to reports.

Mayer ended the romance last week (ends06Mar09) after the former Friends actress returned from a promotional jaunt in Europe to support her latest movie Marley & Me.

A source tells E! Online's Marc Malkin, "He broke up with her when she got back from her European tour."

The news comes just weeks after the couple gave its first joint red carpet interview at the Oscars, which Mayer attended as Aniston's date.

Reports as recently as this week even suggested Mayer was preparing to propose to the actress after allegedly shopping for an engagement ring.

But Aniston - who divorced husband Brad Pitt in 2005 - recently hinted her romance with Mayer would be shortlived, after admitting she doesn't believe relationships are meant to last.

She said, "Who ever said that every relationship has to last forever? That's hoping too much. I think every relationship is a world unto itself."

And when asked about finding the perfect partner, she replied, "I don't have one and I don't think it exists."

The stars were first rumoured to be dating in early 2008 but the couple parted ways at the end of last summer. They rekindled their romance in October.

Mayer's spokesperson has declined to address the singer's private life, while Aniston's representative has yet to respond to requests for comment on the reports.

Hasselhoff Bailed Out Ex-Wife After DUI Arrest

David Hasselhoff put aside his differences with ex-wife Pamela Bach to bail her out of jail after her drink driving arrest on Wednesday.

The 46-year-old actress was taken into custody by California police on Wednesday after allegedly causing a rear end collision at around 9pm local time in the San Fernando Valley area.

She was booked for a felony at Van Nuys jail after others involved in the collision complained of minor injuries. Bach was released from custody at midnight after posting $100,000 (£72,820) bail.

And according to TMZ.com, it was her ex-husband, Hasselhoff, who contacted a bail bondsman and paid the sum.

The pair has been embroiled in a bitter legal battle over attorney costs and living arrangements since the Baywatch star filed for divorce in 2006 after 16 years of marriage.

Bach is due in court on 6 April.

Steve-o Dancing Through The Pain

Stuntman Steve-o fears he'll be the next casualty of TV show Dancing With The Stars after pinching nerves in his back.

The Jackass star struggled with his dancing debut on the show earlier this week (beg09Mar09) because he was in agony, and now he's not sure he can continue.

He says, "A physical therapist has told me that nerves are being pinched in my back and it is in spasms because of inflammation related to torn muscles. I'm doing everything I can to let it heal; icing it, taking Advil, drinking water, visiting a chiropractor and continuing to be worked on by the physical therapist.

"I'm still rehearsing every day, but walking through my salsa routine, rather than practising the physical stunts and tricks that are incorporated into it. It is going to be a risky routine that I hope to pull off."

Singer Jewel and U.S. TV presenter Nancy O'Dell were forced to pull out of the current season of the show due to crippling injuries.

Panettiere Explains Press 'Attack'

Actress Hayden Panettiere has downplayed reports she lashed out at a journalist in Hawaii last week (beg02Mar09), insisting the story has been blown out of proportion.

The Heroes star was said to have erupted angrily after a reporter tapped her shoulder at a fundraiser gala on Sunday, barking at onlooking press, "You all make my life miserable."

But Panettiere, 19, is adamant she maintains a good relationship with journalists.

She tells U.S. magazine Ok! "I have tremendous respect for the media and reporters - particularly the press who treat the people they are interviewing with dignity. I am appreciative that the press has supported me, my career, and especially the causes I feel passionately about."

And she insists stories about the alleged outburst have been greatly exaggerated: "While in Hawaii, one reporter grabbed me suddenly from behind and frightened me. It happens. Typically, the press has treated me with great respect."

Pattinson Panicked At Twilight Premiere

Robert Pattinson was so overcome with nerves at the Los Angeles premiere of Twilight, he suffered a panic attack after watching the first ten minutes of the vampire thriller.

The actor has never seen a single one of his movies - and couldn't watch much past the blockbuster's opening credits without feeling a rush of anxiety.

He tells the new issue of GQ magazine, "I went out and sat in the car, having a full-blown panic attack."

But the 22-year-old won't have to sit through too many more premieres in the future - because he plans to be picky about the film roles he accepts.

He adds: "(I'm) not massively concerned about doing lots of acting jobs. If it all just went, right now, I'd be like, 'All right. I don't really care. That's probably a stupid thing to say. But I don't, really. I think it'd be much worse to do a load of stuff (movies) that’s really bad."

Hogan Wins Partial Victory In Divorce Dispute

A Florida judge has granted former wrestler Hulk Hogan access to some of the funds frozen in his divorce battle with estranged wife Linda Bollea.

Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, appeared in a Pinellas County court on Thursday to formally request the release of $300,000 (£218,980) in order to pay his bills.

In legal papers filed on Monday, he claimed he was unable to work after undergoing back surgery last month.

The motion indicated he had approximately $411,000 (£300,000) in the bank, but owed $312,000 (£228,000) in outstanding debts.

He was handed a partial victory when Judge George Greer ruled Hogan could have $225,000 (£164,230) a month for the next three months, despite Bollea claiming the star would simply spend the cash recklessly.

Greer also set a 5 October start date for the couple's impending divorce trial.

But the bitter divorce battle heated up outside the courtroom, when Hogan confronted Bollea's attorney, Ray Lafool, as he was giving a press conference.

Objecting to Lafool's claims that Hogan is to blame for his own financial troubles, the ex-grappler said, "I'll sue you", to which the attorney replied, "Are you gonna wrestle me? ...You are the person that has caused this issue."

Hogan responded saying, "I can talk, it's a free world", before the war of words continued between Lafool and Hogan's own lawyer.

A court bailiff arrived to break up the dispute, but the two parties had gone their separate ways.

Theron Urges Press To Bury Father's Death

Hollywood actress Charlize Theron has begged the media to stop mentioning her father's violent death - because she wants to "stop living in the past".

Theron was 15 when she saw her mother, Gerda, shoot dead her alcoholic and abusive father, Charles, in self-defence.

The Oscar-winner is constantly asked about the incident in interviews - and admits seeing so many stories about her family history is upsetting for her.

She says, "For me, this thing happened so long ago and I just really wish people could move on from it. I don't live in the past. When I read headlines about me saying, 'When she was 15, her mother shot her father,' it's very sensational for me. It happened 18 years ago.

"Since then I've had a complete, full life, and my God, if I've been living the past 18 years in the past because of one event, someone should put a gun to my head and put me out of my misery because that's a waste of my life."

Kennedy Confirms Hewitt Romance

Actor Jamie Kennedy has confirmed he's dating his Ghost Whisperer co-star Jennifer Love Hewitt - three months after she called off her engagement.

The couple prompted reports its on-set friendship had blossomed into a romance behind the scenes when Kennedy joined Hewitt to celebrate her 30th birthday last month.

Kennedy confirmed the news on Los Angeles DJ Ryan Seacrest's radio show on Friday, comparing their "intense connection" to characters in hit vampire franchise Twilight.

He told Seacrest: "Yes, we are dating. Wow, I've never said that. We're more than dating... we're more than in love. We have an intense connection. She's my Bella. I don't want to bite her neck, but I want her to live... I'm in love, and I don't care!"

And the actor insists the whirlwind romance was unexpected, adding: "I thought something would happen in my 40s. Hollywood makes us on our own train, and it's like I have a co-conductor now."

Love Hewitt split from fiance Ross McCall in December after three years together.

Anderson Bids To Free Florida Chimps

Pamela Anderson has joined forces with animal rights campaigners in a bid to free apes kept in "squalid' captivity in the U.S. state of Florida.

Anderson has written an open letter to Florida governor Charlie Crist, targetting 'road-side zoos' in the state, where she claims chimpanzees and other animals are kept in inadequate enclosures.

The actress warns a tragic accident - like the chimpanzee attack in Connecticut in February that left a woman maimed - is just waiting to happen.

Anderson - a regular campaigner for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) - writes, "With so many frustrated great apes stewing in squalid facilities in Florida, it is only a matter of time before a similar tragedy strikes your state. PETA and I appeal to you to take action to prevent Florida's roadside zoos from keeping great apes and to ensure that these intelligent primates are transferred to approved sanctuaries to live out the remainder of their lives in suitable surroundings."

The former Baywatch star is heading to Florida this weekend to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Animal Rights Foundation of Florida.

Rihanna Wants Right to Remain Silent ... in Court

Sources connected with Chris Brown and Rihanna tell TMZ Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, wants the judge to give Rihanna a pass from testifying because of leaks in the case.

We're told Geragos and Rihanna's lawyer, Donald Etra, believe Rihanna was compromised when her name surfaced as the alleged victim in the beating. They claim this and other leaks violate her privacy rights and therefore she should not have to further put herself out to the public by testifying against Brown in the case.

It's further proof Rihanna and Brown are back together and in lockstep.

Geragos asked to meet with the judge in chambers, along with the prosecutors, on March 23 to discuss letting Rihanna off the hook. Brown's arraignment is set for April 6.

Howard K. Stern's Attorney Issues a Statement

Today, Krista Barth, one of the attorneys for Howard K. Stern, issued a statement in conjunction with Stern's arrest alleging he supplied drugs to the late Anna Nicole Smith.

Barth defends her client against the "false accusations published about him" and says that "his accusers have been shown to have no credibility due to their conflicting stories."

Here is the entire text:

"For over two years, I have represented Howard K. Stern in connection with civil litigation arising out his relationship with Anna Nicole Smith and false accusations published about him, including representing Mr. Stern in the body custody proceedings. In the course of that litigation, I have spent hundreds of hours reviewing depositions under oath or interviews of almost every principal witness claiming to possess first hand knowledge of Mr. Stern's relationship with Anna Nicole [Smith]. His accusers have been shown to have no credibility due to their conflicting stories, to have a bias based on their own personal agendas or to have no factual basis to support their accusations. Given the knowledge obtained from these various cases, I am confident that the criminal charges brought against Mr. Stern last evening by the State of California will likewise be shown to have no factual basis and that Mr. Stern will ultimately be exonerated with respect to his conduct.

"I would remind the public that the fundamental principle of our criminal justice system is that an individual is presumed innocent. Publicity efforts by the State of California last night and today in connection with the filing of the charges against Mr. Stern are inconsistent with that principle and jeopardize Mr. Stern's constitutional right to a fair trial. With formal charges having been filed, this case should not be tried in the court of public opinion and Mr. Stern has no intention of doing so. However, Mr. Stern and I are mindful of the reality that he has for the past several years found himself on trial in the media. The media trial of Mr. Stern has been based on constant shouts of guilty from a barrage of uninformed commentators based on totally inaccurate and often manufactured "facts." The television, tabloid and Internet trial of Mr. Stern in the court of public opinion has been based on sensational lies, speculation, rumor and gossip. Unfortunately, it appears that criminal charges have now been brought by the State of California based on this same type of misinformation.

"Mr. Stern will continue efforts to have the evidence in his civil cases unsealed and made available for public inspection and review so that hopefully any future media discussions will be informed ones, based on the actual facts and not sensationalized accusations that have no factual or legal merit. If this occurs, future discussions will focus on Mr. Stern's innocence."

Corrie's Marsh 'may quit for Hollywood'

Coronation Street star Kym Marsh is considering quitting the show to make a fresh start in the US, according to a report.

The actress, who plays Michelle Connor on the ITV1 soap, is said to be making plans for her long-term future following the sad loss of her premature baby Archie last month.

Marsh's partner Jamie Lomas announced that he is quitting his role as Warren Fox in Hollyoaks earlier this week. He is now expected to search for acting work in Hollywood.

A source told The People: "Kym is contracted to Coronation Street until next year so she couldn't feasibly quit until then and wouldn't want to either.

"But the chance to start a new career in Los Angeles might be just what she needs after losing the baby.

"The tragedy has brought Kym and Jamie closer together. And if he does get a job in America, it would make sense, given the interest in her, for Kym to get work there too."

However, a Coronation Street spokesman insisted: "Kym is 100% committed to the show. She has no plans to look for work in America or to live there.

Window Smashed In Lohan-ronson Fight

Lindsay Lohan's relationship with Samantha Ronson is reportedly on the rocks again - after a furious bust-up at the DJ's home resulted in a smashed window.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning after Lohan spent Friday night partying with pals at hotel Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, before paying a late night visit to the home of actor Jack Nicholson.

Lohan left Nicholson's house in the early hours of Saturday and headed to Ronson's residence, reports People.com.

The DJ arrived home a few hours later and the pair allegedly began to argue loudly before a neighbour called police.

Shortly afterwards a side window of the house was smashed, sending glass flying across a path.

A source tells WENN, "The police were called in by a neighbour after a loud argument between Lindsay and Sam, which could be heard out on the street.

"At one point, something went flying through a side window, shattering glass on the side walkway of the house.

"Lapd officers pounded at the front door but Lindsay or Sam did not open the door."

A representative for Lohan could not be reached as WENN went to press.
