Jeananne Goossen joins Kevin Bacon Fox pilot



Jeananne Goossen has signed up for a role in Kevin Bacon's Fox pilot.

The drama, which is being developed by The Vampire Diaries's executive producer Kevin Williamson, focuses on a serial killer who uses technology to create a number of other murderers.

Bacon has already signed up to play Ryan Hardy, a retired FBI profiler who begins work on the case, while James Purefoy has landed the role of the serial killer Joe Carroll.

Goossen has now signed up for the female lead in the project, Deadline says.

Her character Jennifer Mason is a tough FBI agent who works with Hardy in an attempt to track down Carroll.

Goossen has previously appeared on shows like NCIS and CSI: NY and currently has a recurring role as Nikki on Alcatraz. She also has a part in the movie The Vow.

News of her casting comes after Shawn Ashmore and Valorie Curry also landed roles in the Fox pilot.

Prison Break' creator's pilot 'Zero Hour' adds Addison Timlin



Addison Timlin has joined Prison Break creator Paul Scheuring's new ABC pilot.

Zero Hour will focus on a man who works as the editor of 'Modern Skeptic' magazine, yet finds himself drawn into a global conspiracy.

Californication's Timlin will play a journalist who works on the magazine, according to Deadline.

The actress previously starred on ABC's Cashmere Mafia and also appeared on short-lived crime drama Law & Order: Los Angeles.

Scheuring will executive produce Zero Hour with Man on a Ledge producer Lorenzo DiBonaventura and Dan McDermott.

ABC has picked up a number of other drama pilots, including action thriller Last Resort starring Scott Speedman and Robert Patrick, Americana with Lost's Emilie De Ravin and Roland Emmerich's untitled sci-fi pilot with veteran actor Martin Landau.

Better With You' star Jake Lacy joins Fox pilot 'The Goodwin Games'



Jake Lacy has become the third lead to be cast in Fox pilot The Goodwin Games.

The comedy - from the creators of How I Met Your Mother - will focus on three estranged siblings who must reconcile to inherit their late father's money.

Lacy, who starred in ABC sitcom Better with You, will play the third sibling, according to Deadline.

He will appear alongside the previously cast Scott Foley and Becki Newton.

His character Jimmy is described as a petty thief who has only recently been released from jail.

New Girl director Peyton Reed will helm the Goodwin Games pilot.

Other comedy pilots picked up by Fox include Living Loaded starring Donald Sutherland, Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence's Like Father and Ben Fox Is My Manny with Saturday Night Live's Abby Elliott.

Masters of Sex' Showtime pilot adds Caitlin Fitzgerald



Caitlin Fitzgerald has joined the cast of Showtime's Masters of Sex.

The pilot will star Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan as William Masters and Virginia Johnson, two researchers who sparked a sexual revolution.

Gossip Girl actress Fitzgerald will play Libby Masters, the wife of Sheen's character, according to Deadline.

She recently starred in the movie Newlyweds and has also appeared in episodes of Blue Bloods and Law & Order: SVU.

An adaptation of the book by Thomas Maier, the Masters of Sex pilot will be directed by The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel's John Madden.

Paul Bettany was originally attached to the project, but later dropped out and was replaced by Sheen.

Showtime is developing a number of other pilots, including drama Ray Donovan starring Liev Schreiber and House actor Peter Jacobson.

Sex and the City' star David Eigenberg joins NBC pilot 'Chicago Fire'



David Eigenberg has joined the cast of NBC pilot Chicago Fire.

The Sex and the City star will play a veteran firefighter in the drama, according to Deadline.

When he loses his home due to foreclosure, the character is forced to move in with his in-laws.

Best known for playing Steve Brady in HBO's Sex And The City and its film spinoffs, Eigenberg's recent credits include episodes of Castle, Justified and Criminal Minds.

The Chicago Fire pilot will be executive produced by Law & Order creator Dick Wolf.

Oz star Eamonn Walker, Lie To Me's Monica Raymund and The Vampire Diaries actor Taylor Kinney will also star.

Derek Haas and Michael Brandt have written the pilot, which will be helmed by Homeland director Jeffrey Nachmanoff.

Other NBC drama pilots in contention for the 2012-13 television season include a remake of UK series Bad Girls and JJ Abrams / Eric Kripke project Revolution starring Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito.

Beauty And The Beast' ABC pilot casts F Murray Abraham



F Murray Abraham has joined ABC's Beauty And The Beast pilot.

The drama will star singer-turned-actor Darius Campbell as Shiro, a mercenary who forms a connection with princess Grace.

Oscar-winning actor Abraham will play the chancellor of one Emperor Dorian, according to Deadline.

The character is trusted by the emperor and is considered to be wise, but is keeping his own secrets.

Abraham, who won the Academy Award for his role in 1984 film Amadeus, is best known for his film credits, including 1983's Scarface and 1993's Last Action Hero.

His recent television roles include guest stints on The Good Wife and Blue Bloods.

ABC's Beauty And The Beast will also star former Home and Away actor Chris Egan.

Meanwhile, The CW is also developing its own pilot based on the Beauty And The Beast tale, starring Smallville's Kristin Kreuk.

Runaway Jury's Gary Fleder is involved in both projects, directing the CW pilot and executive producing the ABC version.

Kal Penn's ABC pilot 'Prairie Dogs' adds Charlotte Newhouse



Charlotte Newhouse has joined ABC comedy pilot Prairie Dogs.

Harold & Kumar actor Kal Penn will play Neil, an office worker who has his identity stolen.

When Neil discovers that the thief has improved on his life, he recruits the criminal to help him better himself.

Newhouse has been cast as Neil's fun-loving co-worker, according to Deadline.

The actress, a former member of LA comedy troupe The Groundlings, has appeared in episodes of Community, The Big Bang Theory and Men of a Certain Age.

The Hunger Games star Dayo Okeniyi and Wanderlust actress Michaela Watkins will also appear in Prairie Dogs.

That '70s Show team Jackie and Jeff Filgo have co-written the pilot and will also executive produce.

Other comedy pilots picked up by ABC include Judy Greer's American Judy and Counter Culture starring Everybody Loves Raymond actress Doris Roberts.

Sucker Punch' star Jamie Chung joins Fox spy pilot 'The Asset'



Jamie Chung has joined the cast of Fox pilot The Asset.

The spy drama will focus on Anna King, a globe-trotting photographer who secretly works for the CIA.

Sucker Punch star Chung will play a fellow operative, according to Deadline.

A polygraph expert, Chung's character will initially clash with King (Ali Larter).

The actress recently appeared in film comedy The Hangover Part II and has featured in episodes of Grey's Anatomy and Castle.

The Asset is being developed by Josh Friedman, who previously created Fox's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

The West Wing's Bradley Whitford will also appear in the pilot as Leo, the CIA's station chief in New York.

Limitless director Neil Burger is attached to helm the project.

Hollyoaks' actor Barry Sloane joins ABC pilot 'Gotham'



Barry Sloane has landed a lead role in ABC pilot Gotham.

The drama will focus on Annie Travers, a female cop who discovers a magical world that exists within New York.

British actor Sloane - best known for his roles in UK soaps Hollyoaks and Brookside - will play detective Boyo, according to Deadline.

A denizen of Gotham, Boyo becomes Annie's new partner when she arrives in the magical world.

The River's Michael Green has written the Gotham pilot, which will be helmed by I Am Legend director Francis Lawrence.

Other drama pilots in development at ABC include a Beauty And The Beast update and a sci-fi project starring Martin Landau.

A remake of Dutch crime series Penoza and Devious Maids from Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry are also in the works.

Breaking Bad' star Matt Jones joins Fox comedy pilot 'Rebounding'



Breaking Bad's Matt Jones has been cast in a new Fox pilot.

The actor - who plays Badger on the AMC drama - will appear in basketball comedy Rebounding, according to Deadline.

Written by Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, the potential series will focus on Danny, a man who recovers from the death of his fiancée with the help of his basketball team.

Jones, who has also appeared on NCIS and Community, will play a rock musician who is one of Danny's close friends.

Better Off Ted's Malcolm Barrett and The Game Plan actor Hayes MacArthur will also appear in Rebounding.

Modern Family director Jason Winer has signed up to helm the pilot.

A new comedy from the creators of How I Met Your Mother and sitcom Ben Fox Is My Manny with Saturday Night Live's Abby Elliott are among the other pilots in the works at Fox.

Charlie Sheen's 'Anger Management' gets June premiere date



FX has set the broadcast date for Charlie Sheen's new show Anger Management.

It has been announced that the comedy is due to debut on Thursday, June 28 with back-to-back episodes.

Sheen stars in the primetime comedy as a therapist who specialises in anger management. Selma Blair, Shawnee Smith, Daniela Bobadilla, Michael Arden and Noureen DeWulf also star.

The 46-year-old actor left the hit comedy Two and a Half Men, after a series of public comments about show creator Chuck Lorre. Ashton Kutcher joined the show in a new role last year, which Sheen recently came out to criticise.

Also set to return for FX's comedy block are the second season of Elijah Wood's Wilfred, Louie, and Russell Brand's new late-night talk show Strangely Uplifting.

Anger Management is produced by Debmar-Mercury, which has signed comedian George Lopez for his own television comeback in a ten-episode sitcom deal.

Descendants' writer cast in Fox comedy pilot 'Ned Fox Is My Manny



Nat Faxon has been cast in Fox comedy pilot Ned Fox Is My Manny.

The Oscar-winning Descendants screenplay writer will take the male lead in the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The single-camera comedy - previously titled Ben Fox Is My Manny - has been written by Dana Fox (Couples Retreat, What Happens in Vegas).

The show focuses on an uptight single mother whose laid-back brother moves in with her to help raise her child. The male lead is reportedly based on Dana Fox's real-life brother Ben.

Faxon joins Saturday Night Live star Abby Elliott, who will play the mother.

Child star Maggie Jones was also cast in the pilot earlier this month.

The 8-year-old previously appeared in Fox's 2010 project Most Likely to Succeed.

'Cougar Town' Josh Hopkins joins NBC pilot 'Lady Friends'



Josh Hopkins has signed up for a role in NBC's pilot Lady Friends.

The comedy, from The New Adventures of Old Christine's Kari Lizer, focuses on female friends Nicole and Jen.

Hopkins has now joined the cast of the show, TV Line reports.

He will play Nicole's husband.

However, Hopkins will only be able to join the NBC project if his current show Cougar Town is not renewed for a fourth season.

Cougar Town's creator Bill Lawrence also urged the show's fans not to worry about Hopkins's casting in Lady Friends, joking on Twitter: "I'm still betting we will survive and that pilot will be screwed. But I'm an optimistic guy."

As well as starring as Grayson in Cougar Town, Hopkins has appeared in shows such as Ally McBeal, Brothers & Sisters, Swingtown and Private Practice.

Andrea Anders has already signed up to play Nicole in Lady Friends, while other stars cast in the project include Rachel Dratch and Danny Comden.

Glee' star Max Adler, 'Homeland' Omid Abtahi join ABC's 'Last Resort'



Glee star Max Adler and Homeland's Omid Abtahi are among the latest actors to join ABC pilot Last Resort.

The drama - from The Shield creator Shawn Ryan - follows the crew of a nuclear submarine who become fugitives after refusing to fire their missiles.

Taking refuge on a small island, the crew establish themselves as the world's smallest nuclear nation.

Ryan confirmed the latest castings on Twitter, writing: "Max Adler of recent Glee fame has also been added to the Last Resort cast."

He later added: "Homeland's Omid Abtahi the latest to join Last Resort cast. Thrilled to have him

In addition to his Glee role, Adler has featured in episodes of Ghost Whisperer and Cold Case. Abtahi - who played Raqim Faisel on Homeland - has appeared on Fringe and The Good Wife.

Ryan later announced that both X-Men star Bruce Davison and Avatar actor Matt Gerald will appear in the Last Resort pilot.

Davison was nominated for a 'Best Supporting Actor' Oscar for his role in 1989 film Longtime Companion, while Gerald has previously worked with Ryan on both The Shield and CBS drama The Unit.

Filming on Last Resort begins tomorrow (February 30) in Hawaii. Scott Speedman, Robert Patrick, Dichen Lachman, Andre Braugher and Autumn Reeser will also star.

Rachael Taylor joins ABC's '666 Park Avenue' pilot



Rachael Taylor has signed up for a lead role in ABC's pilot 666 Park Avenue.

The supernatural drama, which is based on a series of books by Gabriella Pierce, focuses on a young couple who begin managing one of the oldest apartment buildings in New York.

However, they soon start to experience a series of spooky events.

Taylor has now landed the role of the wife in the drama, The Hollywood Reporter says.

She will star opposite Brothers & Sisters actor Dave Annable, who has signed up to play the husband.

Taylor recently starred in ABC's short-lived reboot of Charlie's Angels. Her previous credits include roles in Grey's Anatomy and the movie Transformers.

Lost star Terry O'Quinn has also signed up for a part in 666 Park Avenue and will play the owner of the haunted building.

Sean Patrick Thomas joins The CW's 'The Selection



Sean Patrick Thomas has joined the pilot for The CW's The Selection.

The actor, perhaps best known for starring opposite Julia Stiles in Save the Last Dance, will assume the role of Sylvan Santos.

The character is said to be an adviser to the current queen, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Selection, somewhat similar to The Hunger Games, follows a poor young woman - played by Friday Night Lights star Aimee Teegarden - who is chosen by lottery to participate in a competition to become the next queen of a war-torn nation.

The show will take place 300 years in the future.

Earlier this month, Ethan Peck signed up for the project to play Prince Maxon.

From Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain, The Selection is based on a forthcoming series of books by Kiera Cass.

Dexter' star Jordana Spiro joins Fox medical pilot



Jordana Spiro has won the lead role in a new Fox medical drama pilot.

The project - from CSI's Josh Berman and Drop Dead Diva's Rob Wright - will focus on surgeon Grace Delvin (Spiro).

In order to save her debt-ridden brother, Delvin is forced to work after hours as a 'mob doctor' for criminals, according to Deadline.

Spiro recently appeared in the sixth season of Dexter and also featured on Harry's Law, as well as playing the lead in TBS sitcom My Boys.

Necessary Roughness star Jaime Lee Kirchner will also appear in Berman and Wright's untitled pilot. The actress will play a surgical resident who works alongside Delvin and also happens to be the daughter of the hospital board's chairman.

Kirchner previously starred in NBC medical drama Mercy and has also appeared on CSI and Dollhouse.

Justified's Michael Dinner will direct the medical pilot and will also executive produce alongside Berman and Wright.

Batman Begins' star Linus Roache joins ABC sci-fi pilot



Linus Roache has joined a new ABC drama pilot from Independence Day's Roland Emmerich.

The project focuses on Carter (Max Thieriot), a science student who learns that he is the chosen one to destroy the forces of evil.

Batman Begins star Roache will play Senator Teras, an enigmatic politician with ambitions for the White House, according to Deadline.

The actor played Michael Cutter on Law & Order from 2008 to 2010 and recently reprised the role on spinoff Law & Order: SVU.

He will next be seen in ITV's Titanic, from Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes.

Veteran actor Martin Landau was previously cast in Emmerich's pilot. The North by Northwest star will play blind German ex-soldier Mr Armin.

Emmerich will direct and also co-wrote his new pilot with 2012 and 10,000 BC collaborator Harald Kloser.

Other drama pilots picked up by ABC include Shawn Ryan's Last Resort with Robert Patrick and Glee's Max Adler and supernatural thriller 666 Park Avenue starring Lost's Terry O'Quinn and Charlie's Angels actress Rachael Taylor.
