CBS Starts Making Seies Orders Too
What a day! CBS just joined the pickup frenzy. The network is making its calls to producers at the moment and the first to get one was non other than J.J. Abrams, whose Person of Interest has been picked up to series. The crime drama written by Jonah Nolan had been building momentum, recently emerging as the frontrunner at the network on the drama side.
Update: Also picked up is the Michael Patrick King/Whitney Cummings comedy Two Broke Girls. While Cummings will do her new NBC comedy series, which is in first position, King, whose NBC drama pilot A Mann's World didn't go forward, is expected to be full-time on the comedy series, probably co-running it with another comedy writer-producer.

Update: CBS just picked up another new drama series, the untitled Susannah Grant medical drama, now titled A Gifted Man. Produced by CBS TV Studios, it stars Patrick Wilson as ultra-competitive surgeon Michael, whose life is changed forever when his ex-wife Anna dies and begins teaching him what life is all about from the hereafter. The Gifted Man joins dramas The 2-2 (aka Rookies), Unforgettable (now The Rememberer) and David Hornsby's comedy How To Be a Gentleman, picked up earlier today; and drama Person of Interest and comedy Two Broke Girls, which were ordered Friday
