Tom Hardy: 'I don't know when Mad Max sequel will start'

Tom Hardy has admitted that he does not know when the planned Mad Max sequel will happen.

The British actor, whose latest film Lawless recently premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, told Empire that he is still waiting for George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road to confirm filming dates.

"We keep moving that around, you know?" he said. "Who knows when it'll come out? I've been on standby for two years... but it's all part of it. It's kind of the cool thing to do, to be elusive with dates and all that."

Asked what the sequel's storyline would entail, Hardy joked: "It's a musical - we're going to go around shopping centres in a little wagon and sing songs. People were expecting big, but we're going to give them small. It'll be a live, free-running musical and it's coming to a place near you soon."

Director Miller told Digital Spy last year that he had planned to shoot the fourth Mad Max instalment in Namibia early this year.

The Australian filmmaker wants to utilise custom-made cameras to shoot the action movie in 3D.

Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult and Zoe Kravitz were attached to star in Mad Max: Fury Road when it was announced in 2009.

Chris Hemsworth: 'Snow White and the Huntsman spinoff is possible

Chris Hemsworth has discussed the possibility of a Snow White and the Huntsman spinoff.

It has been reported that a sequel is already in development for the film, which is released this weekend.

Chris Hemsworth told Collider that he would consider starring in a spinoff centred on his character, the Huntsman.

"If there's an audience for it and people wanna see it, and there's a great script and room to do something different with it, absolutely," he confirmed.

"I've heard probably the same rumours you have about possible sequels to this, or prequels as far as the Huntsman's story goes."

"We're pretty elusive for most of it," Hemsworth continued. "He begins having suffered some sort of trauma in a whole life before this point, and then at the end it's left open as well.

"We had endless discussions about 'where does he comes from and why does he do this and what's this about?', and it all of a sudden opened up all these ideas about his whole life prior to this."

Charlize Theron recently spoke about her role as the Evil Queen, and described the film as "gorgeous", "disturbing" and "epic in scale".

Snow White and the Huntsman is released in the UK on May 31 and the US on June 1.

Daniel Radcliffe has been linked to a new adaptation of Pinocchio from Guillermo del Toro.

The 3D film, which will use puppets and stop-motion animation, was announced at the Cannes Film Festival this week.

Del Toro, who will direct and produce, stated that Radcliffe has approached him to "get involved in the project', according to The Hollywood Reporter.

He then went on to explain the film's complex development process – he was at one stage planning to hand over directing duties and only produce, but ultimately decided that he was too involved.

"When we originally talked about this project I was going to direct, but then I said I would [just] executive produce it," he said.

"But everything with the production discussions became more and more specific and I began to realise I was getting more and more involved."

After confirming Radcliffe's interest, del Toro named Tom Waits and Christopher Walken as entries on his "wish list" for the voice cast.

The film is tentatively due for release in 2014.

Dark Knight Rises' Christian Bale: 'Another Batman movie is possible

The Dark Knight Rises star Christian Bale has revealed that he would be open to making a fourth Batman movie with Christopher Nolan.

The upcoming third instalment of Nolan's superhero series, currently being promoted with the tagline "the legend ends", is expected to be his last.

However, Bale - who has said in the past that he will not play Batman without Nolan - stated that he would enjoy the "challenge" of pushing the Dark Knight story further.

"My understanding is that this is the last one," he told Empire. "I think it's appropriate, I think it's going out at the right time.

"But... if Chris came to me with a script and said, 'You know what? There is another story', then I would love the challenge of making a fourth one work."

Last month, Nolan confirmed that he still intends to leave the Batman franchise after The Dark Knight Rises, saying: "Without getting into specifics, the key thing that makes the third film a great possibility for us is that we want to finish our story.

"And in viewing it as the finishing of a story rather than infinitely blowing up the balloon and expanding the story... is useful."

Warner Bros chief Jeff Robinov announced in March 2011 that the studio will "have to reinvent Batman" after The Dark Knight Rises.

Nolan and his wife Emma Thomas have been tipped to produce a future reboot.

The Dark Knight Rises will hit cinemas in the UK and US on July 20.
