Christina Hendricks: 'I'd play Wonder Woman in a heartbeat
Christina Hendricks has revealed that she would be interested in playing Wonder Woman if a film were to be made.
A movie based on the super heroine has been mooted for some time. Director Nicolas Winding Refn has claimed that studio executives have promised to support him with a film version provided his remake of Logan's Run performs well at the box office.
Refn has also named Hendricks as his first choice to play the lead role should he be at the helm.
Hendricks, who recently worked with Refn on the movie Drive, explained to New York magazine that she was a big fan of Wonder Woman in her childhood, and said that she would sign up for the film "in a heartbeat".
"I grew up on the TV show, and I had Wonder Woman Underoos, and my brother had a Wonder Woman doll - sorry, Aaron, you're exposed," she laughed.
"Nicolas said, when we were on set, 'I want you to be Wonder Woman'. And I think he is such an extraordinary and exceptional director, that if he asked me to do it, I would do it in a heartbeat."
Joss Whedon was once attached to the director's chair for a possible Wonder Woman movie. Whedon had previously named Angelina Jolie as his first choice, but also considered Hendricks as a possible lead.
"I'd like to think that Joss would have cast me," she added. "I also loved working with Joss [on Firefly]. I'm excited to see what he does with The Avengers. Hopefully the stars would align [for Wonder Woman]. It would be really fun. It would be cool, wouldn't it? I'd get to kick ass."
Speaking about how she would like to play Wonder Woman, she said: "Well, I would certainly do what Nicolas wanted to do, and I can only guess what his version would be, but as I grew up with - and am now married to - a comic book fan, I think it's important to be true to the original comic books, because I know that the fans love every detail and it's very important to them.
"So I think it would be cool to do that. I look forward to learning more about it, actually. I should probably start reading them, so that if someone were to ask me [to be in the movie], I would be fully prepared."

I would be surprised if this movie ever gets made because they are always talking about a Wonder Woman movie.
