Ed Norton 'in talks for Bourne Legacy villain role
Ed Norton has entered negotiations to join the cast of The Bourne Legacy.
The Fight Club star is reportedly in talks to appear opposite Jeremy Renner as a villain, according to Variety.
Norton is currently filming Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom alongside Bruce Willis and Francis McDormand.
Renner, whose previous films include The Hurt Locker, was cast in the lead role in April.
He will also be seen in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol with Tom Cruise at the end of the year.
The Bourne Legacy spins off from the original Bourne trilogy, which starred Matt Damon in the role of secret agent Jason Bourne.
Renner plays a government agent seeking his identity who has come out of a project even more dangerous than Bourne's.
Tony Gilroy will direct the movie, taking over from Paul Greengrass.
Julia Stiles, who played Nicky Parsons in the original trilogy, recently told Digital Spy that she does not believe her character will feature in the new film.
Production on The Bourne Legacy is expected to begin this autumn. It is currently scheduled for release on August 3, 2012 in the US and August 17, 2012 in the UK.
