James Mangold has been linked with the vacant director's chair on The Wolverine.

Mangold, who helmed Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz's action comedy Knight and Day last year, has been approached by studio Twentieth Century Fox, according to Deadline. He is reportedly also Hugh Jackman's first choice for the role.

Steven Spielberg planning 'Jurassic Park 4'?

Steven Spielberg is reportedly developing a plot for a fourth Jurassic Park movie.

The director is collaborating with Thor screenwriter Mark Protosevich, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Jurassic Park actor Sam Neill, palaeontologist Dr Alan Grant in the series, said recently that he thought a follow-up is "unlikely" given that the creature designer Stan Winston had also passed away.

A fourth film has been under discussion since 2009, with Jurassic Park III filmmaker Joe Johnston claiming that a script for the project could set up another trilogy.

Mel Gibson movie comeback "Tarantino-esque

Mel Gibson is reportedly planning to return to making movies.

The Beaver actor is currently shopping around a picture that he produced titled How I Spent My Summer Vacation. While the film has yet to secure a US distributor, buyers are allegedly showing interest in the movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"It's an interesting, cool movie," said an insider. "In fact, it has what I'd call a Tarantino-esque feeling."

In addition, a number of agencies are said to be pursing the actor, who was dropped by WME after last summer's voicemail scandal.

"There's a lot of interest on the agency side, but I don't think anything is imminent," said Gibson's spokesman Alan Nierob.

Gibson ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva recently abandoned her domestic violence lawsuit against the Lethal Weapon actor, with a source stating that the former model wants to resolve her grievances with Gibson in a peaceful fashion.

Gibson was sued earlier this week after a man claimed that he had lost his life savings by investing in a tire recycling company on the actor's word.

Tyrese Gibson 'wants Spielberg for Transformers

Tyrese Gibson has revealed that he hopes Steven Spielberg will take over the Transformers franchise if Michael Bay decides not to return to the films.

Gibson spoke to Movie Web about the future of the robot-based franchise, offering Spielberg as an ideal candidate to direct the fourth instalment of Transformers.

"[If] Michael Bay decides to not come back for Transformers 4, there is always Steven Spielberg," Gibson said. "I am not saying that Steven Spielberg is for a fact going to direct Transformers 4. But it is a beautiful safety net to know that one of the biggest, most respected directors in the world happens to be an executive producer on Transformers."

Gibson continued: "[Spielberg] is someone who knows this world. And he could easily step in and direct Transformers 4 if he decided to."

Series star Shia LaBeouf recently confirmed that he will not be returning to make a fourth Transformers movie, stating that he does not believe Bay will come back either.

LaBeouf previously promised that Indiana Jones 5 is on the way, claiming that actor Harrison Ford is getting in shape to play the titular character.

Samuel L Jackson: 'Avengers leak was crazy

Samuel L Jackson has confessed that bosses at Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios were "really upset" after his Avengers script was leaked online.

The Pulp Fiction star, who plays Nick Fury in the upcoming superhero team-up, had his copy of the screenplay stolen last month and shopped around the internet by an anonymous hacker.

Jackson - explaining the leak to WENN - recalled: "When they sent me the new version of the script, I was shooting a film in Toronto and my assistant copied it from the email [and printed it] in the office somewhere. And by the time we got to Albuquerque someone had stolen the script out of the printer and put it online for sale.

"I didn't know printers had memories. And apparently my assistant didn't either. Marvel/Disney kind of got really upset about it. It caused a minor storm of investigation. They sent a team of investigators to Canada. They were trying to [track down] the IP address of the person that put it online. It was crazy."

Marvel vowed to continue filming the blockbuster as scheduled despite the leak.

The Avengers, which stars Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Chris Evans as Captain America, arrives in theatres on May 4, 2012.

Diversity film deal is close', says Ashley Banjo

Ashley Banjo has revealed that his dance troupe Diversity is "close" to landing a movie deal.

The Britain's Got Talent 2009 winners have previously appeared as themselves in Streetdance 3D, but are now hoping for a standalone movie.

Banjo told the Belfast Telegraph: "The film thing for us is closer than people expect, and I'm pretty sure it will happen in the near future."

The dancer added that the group will be appearing at the 2012 Olympics, but refused to reveal any details of their participation.

He said: "I can't confirm yet, but as a group we're definitely going to be involved in the Olympics in a performance sense."

Speaking about Diversity's popularity, he added: "I'm quite confident that people would always enjoy us, whether we were popular or not, but since Britain's Got Talent it's been like a snowball effect. It's been more and more popular.

"That proves the public really enjoy what we do, because it's more than two years now since the show, and we're about to embark on our biggest tour yet, not our smallest one.

"That's a good sign when the public keep coming back for more."

Diversity will return for Streetdance 2, along with George Sampson and Flawless.

'Scary Movie 5' for 2012 release

The Weinstein Company has announced that Scary Movie 5 will launch in cinemas in April 2012.

Earlier this year, it was confirmed that the studio were planning a fifth instalment in the long-running horror spoof franchise.

Despite the announced release date, it is still unknown whether stars Anna Faris and Regina Hall will reprise their roles as Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks respectively.

The franchise's last entry Scary Movie 4 took $41 million at the US box office upon its release in April 2006, and went on to gross around $91 million domestically.

The studio also announced that Patrick Lussier's rebooted Halloween 3D will be released on October 26, 2012.

Scary Movie 5 is expected to hit cinemas on April 20, 2012.

I think the idea of a 5th Scary Movie is stupid because the 4th one was OK at best and its result in the Box Office worldwide was poor.

Channing Tatum joins new thriller 'Blood Brothers

Channing Tatum will reportedly star in a new thriller from Chernin Entertainment called Blood Brothers.

According to Variety, the studio has picked up the original project, which will be penned by The Blue Hour writer Eric Nazarian and Mongol writer and director Sergei Bodrov.

Bodrov will also direct the film while he, Nazarian and Tatum will all serve as producers on the project.

While little is known about the film's plot other than the fact that it is set in Russia, it is being described as a "suspenseful thriller".

Blood Brothers is one of several roles Tatum already has lined up for 2012, which includes both a new G.I. Joe entry and the film Magic Mike, about the actor's days as a young male stripper.

Tatum is currently filming the remake of 21 Jump Street, which also stars Jonah Hill, Dave Frano, Brie Larson and Ellie Kemper.

Wedding Crashers' director for King Arthur film

Warner Bros have landed Wedding Crashers director David Dobkin's spec script, which will be a reboot of the King Arthur story.

Variety confirms that the studio has won a heated bidding war for the project, beating out offers from both Fox and Universal.

The film is being envisioned as a big-budget comedy, which Dobkin will direct from his own script.

The acquisition casts doubt on reports that Guy Ritchie was to begin working on a King Arthur adaptation of his own for Warner Bros.

Antoine Fuqua was the last director to release a retelling of the Arthurian legend, in the poorly-received 2004 film King Arthur starring Clive Owen and Keira Knightley.

Dobkin is currently best known for his successful comedy films, including Wedding Crashers, Shanghai Knights and Fred Claus.

Guillermo Del Toro 'unlikely' to make 'Hellboy 3

Hellboy creator and writer Mike Mignola has said that he can't imagine that Guillermo Del Toro will ever get around to making a third entry in the popular film franchise.

Del Toro directed both the 2004 original Hellboy and its 2008 sequel Hellboy 2, but Mignola revealed that the director's hectic work schedule will likely prevent anther entry from happening.

"Last I heard, he said he would not make it," Mignola told Daily Blam at this weekend's Calgary Comics Expo.

"Guillermo, who I love, in every interview there's a new story on what his next movie is and he honestly believes he's going to do all these things," the writer explained. "But last I heard he said, 'I'm never gonna get back to Hellboy'.

"I'm not surprised because he won't live long enough to do a tenth of the movies he's told me he's going to make."

The first two Hellboy films starred Ron Perlman as the titular superhero, opposite the likes of Selma Blair, Doug Jones and Jeffrey Tambor.

Both films were critically well-received, with Hellboy grossing a total of around $99 million and Hellboy 2: The Golden Army outperforming the original with a gross revenue of around $160 million.

Perlman himself said earlier this year that, as far as he was concerned, there had been no word on a potential third Hellboy outing.
