Relativity Finds Its Snow White: Lily Collins

Lily Collins, the daughter of singer Phil Collins whose breakout role came as the daughter of Sandra Bullock's character in The Blind Side, has been tapped to play the coveted role of Snow White in Relativity Media's modern retelling of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, the company said tonight. She joins Armie Hammer as Prince Andrew Alcott and Julia Roberts as the evil queen in the Tarsem Singh-directed feature, which has begun preproduction ahead of a planned May shoot. The film already has a release date: June 29, 2012. That's before a competing Snow White project -- Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman, which stars Kristen Stewart in the title role alongside Charlize Theron -- which has a Dec. 21 bow slated.

Collins next appears in Sony's Priest, opposite Paul Bettany, which bows May 13. She also stars in John Singleton’s Abduction opposite Taylor Lautner, slated to be released Sept. 23.

I personally think its a good casting decision.

Jeremy Renner 'offered Bourne Legacy lead

Jeremy Renner has reportedly been offered the lead role in The Bourne Legacy.

According to Latino Review, the Hurt Locker star is being tipped to headline the spy franchise's fourth instalment, which will not feature Matt Damon's Jason Bourne character.

Renner, who received his second Oscar nomination earlier this year for The Town, can next be seen starring with Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.

Bourne Legacy writer-director Tony Gilroy allegedly wanted to cast Sucker Punch actor Oscar Isaac in the lead part, but studio Universal refused to back the decision for undisclosed reasons.

Isaac recently told DS of his link to the Bourne saga: "It's awesome. Definitely it's cool to be mentioned in something so incredible... [I'm] just waiting to see how it all plays out... but the fact that I'm in the mix in that thing is pretty cool."

Now this would be a good casting choice.

Expendables 2' is given release date

The Expendables 2 has been confirmed for an August 2012 release.

Earlier this year, Sylvester Stallone revealed that work had begun on a sequel to last year's The Expendables, which starred a host of high-profile action stars, including Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dolph Lundgren.

Total Film reports that studio Lionsgate announced at CinemaCon that the official release date for the project will be August 17 2012.

The film does not yet have a director attached, after Stallone ruled himself out of writing and directing the sequel.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Jean-Claude Van Damme could be in line for a role in the production, in place of Steven Seagal.

Stallone has previously told Twitter followers that The Expendables 2 "is taking a more hard edged tone - An Extreme case of Male-Pattern-Baddness is arising (sic)"

Ryan Reynolds: 'I won't be in Justice League'

Ryan Reynolds has claimed that he will not appear as the Green Lantern in the newly-announced Justice League movie.

It was reported this week that Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas have been approached to produce the DC team-up, which sees intergalactic vigilante Hal Jordan, aka the Green Lantern, fighting alongside other heroes such as Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman.

However, Reynolds told Variety that he has not been asked to cross over to the new project after the Green Lantern movie hits cinemas this summer.

He said: "That's a whole business model and nothing to do with me at all. No one has ever approached me about doing a Justice League movie. We'll see if they do it in the long run."

Warner Bros president Jeff Robinov confirmed this week that Nolan's Batman franchise will be rebooted after 2012's The Dark Knight Rises, likely resulting in a new variation of the character appearing in Justice League.

Doubts have also emerged over Wonder Woman's presence in the film, as a TV series featuring the character continues to advance.

It has been speculated that the Justice League movie, which is planned to arrive in 2013, will stray from Marvel's rival superhero project The Avengers by serving as a standalone feature.

Green Lantern arrives in the UK and the US on June 17.

Source

I now find it stupid how we are going to have 2 different Batman's, Superman's & Green Lantern's, why the heck just get the people who play the characters in the main movies to make the Justice League Movie.

The Avengers movie has got the same cast as the people who are staring as those characters in their respective movie series.

Ryan Reynolds ready for more 'Green Lantern

Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that he is interested in reprising his role as Hal Jordan in future instalments of Green Lantern.

Reynolds revealed his thoughts on the potential for Green Lantern sequels at this weekend's WonderCon convention in San Francisco.

"I'm game for that," Reynolds said, according to Coming Soon. "If we were to do a second film, I know where that's going."

Reynolds did not divulge any further details regarding the future of the film franchise, but did suggest an idea for a potential third instalment.

"I'd love to maybe hand it over to one of the others, Guy Gardner or John Stewart," he added, referring to the other characters who have taken on the Green Lantern mantle during the course of the comic book series.

Reynolds also confirmed that at least half of the film will take place on the Green Lantern homeworld Oa.

Green Lantern is due for release in US and UK cinemas on June 17.

I cant understand how he wants to do more Green Lantern but he possibly wont be in the Justice League movie.

Henry Cavill: 'Superman will be re-imagined

Henry Cavill has said that his Superman movie will be a "re-imagining" of the DC Comics character.

The British actor, who will play the Man of Steel in Sucker Punch director Zack Snyder's blockbuster, told MTV that the superhero franchise's latest instalment will still remain faithful to its comic book roots.

"It's true to the source material, but there's so little I can say about it," Cavill said. "It's basically a re-imagining and modernisation of an iconic character."

Asked if his portrayal of Clark Kent/Superman will differ from the Christopher Reeve incarnation, he replied: "That's tough to say, it's very early days yet. Superman is Superman, after all. There's only so much of a change you can make to that. It's going to be different, but not so different that it's unrecognisable."

Amy Adams, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane will also star in Superman: The Man Of Steel, due to open in cinemas in December 2012.

The comic actor will join Will Sasso, who is confirmed to play Curly in the Farrelly brothers' update of the long-running comedy series.

Keanu Reeves reveals 'Bill & Ted 3' details

Keanu Reeves has revealed plot details for the next Bill & Ted sequel.

The actor played time-travelling metalhead slacker 'Ted' Theodore Logan in the first two films, with Alex Winter co-starring as his equally challenged friend Bill S.Preston, Esquire.

Speaking to MTV, Reeves said: "When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn't happened.

"So they've now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there's an element of time and they have to go back."

However, he did not mention what age the characters would be in the update to 1991's Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey.

The first sequel to Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure was set in the future, with time-travelling cybernetic versions of the buddies going back to kill the originals before they get to take part in a world-saving 'Battle of the Bands' contest with their metal duo Wyld Stallyns.

In January, a representative for Reeves denied that the star will be appearing in any more Matrix films.

Tron: Legacy' director teases sequel

Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski has said that he is keen to bring characters out of the digital world in the planned sequel.

Speaking to Coming Soon, Kosinski revealed that he hopes to use the ending of last December's Legacy - in which Olivia Wilde's computer programme Quorra is freed from the virtual realm - as a starting point for the follow-up.

"That crossing over is a very kind of fascinating idea to me," he said. "It's like the world of Tron: Legacy is limited to the world and all the stuff that exists in that world stays in that world. But if stuff can cross over, just imagine the possibilities of what that means for the next chapter."

The filmmaker added that animated series Tron: Uprising will act as a prequel to the recent blockbuster.

"The animated series is going to explore some chapters before our story," he commented. "But we laid enough groundwork in Legacy that there's a lot of kind of jumping-off points for additional places to go. And that to me is exciting."

Tron: Legacy is released on DVD and Blu-ray in the US now and arrives in the UK on April 18.

Ben Stiller Turns Fox's 'Walter Mitty' Reboot From Daydream To Reality

EXCLUSIVE: Ben Stiller is in talks with 20th Century Fox to play the title role in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty after the previous script was finally dumped and a new approach and screenwriter was put on the project. That produced a reboot that Stiller wants to make his next film. Stiller sparked to the new take by Steve Conrad, writer of the Will Smith hit The Pursuit of Happyness. Now that Stiller is coming aboard, Fox will move quickly to lock in a cinematic director who can mix action with a PG rating, and get the picture ready for a late fall start. Stiller is repped by WME.

Mitty is still based on the 1947 Danny Kaye film from the James Thurber short story first published in The New Yorker in 1939. The story of a perpetual daydreamer had been in development so long that it seemed like it might never be more than a daydream. Everyone from Jim Carrey, Mike Myers, Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen flirted with that previous script, and directors who have circled include Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard and Gore Verbinski. Mitty's problems stemmed from that script which was never quite right. But then Conrad started fresh and knocked it out of the park and Stiller, who has starred in the lucrative Night at the Museum and Meet the Parents franchises, might have another big one on his hands. His Red Hour Films banner is based at Fox. Samuel Goldwyn Jr. and John Goldwyn have been shepherding the project as producers for years.

Stiller right now is preparing for an April 25 opening of The House of Blue Leaves, starring with Edie Falco and Jennifer Jason Leigh in the David Cromer-directed revival of the John Guare comedy that Scott Rudin is producing. Ben is playing the lead role of Artie Shaughnessy, a frustrated zookeeper who dreams of making it big as a songwriter; Stiller made his Broadway debut in that same play back in 1986 playing Shaughnessy's son. The play takes place in 1965 on a day that Pope Paul VI is visiting New York. Falco plays his wife, Bananas, a schizophrenic who is headed for a mental institution. Leigh plays his mistress. It has a 1960s-centric storyline, with political bombings and the Vietnam War among the plot developments. The 1986 production won the Tony and Drama Desk Awards for Best Revival.
