Arnold Schwarzenegger has confirmed that he intends to return to acting.

The former California governor revealed on his Twitter page that he has instructed his representatives at the Creative Artists Agency to find him a big screen comeback role.

"Exciting news. My friends at CAA have been asking me for 7 years when they can take offers seriously. Gave them the green light today," he wrote.

Schwarzenegger stepped away from acting in 2003 after becoming Governor of California. His last major role was in Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines, although he made cameo appearances in Around The World In 80 Days, Welcome To The Jungle and The Expendables.

Bay 'doesn't want Transformers 3 to suck

Michael Bay has insisted that he has strived to make Transformers: Dark Of The Moon a better movie than its predecessor.

Speaking to MTV, the director again claimed that the Writers Guild of America strikes meant that he struggled to find a good story for 2009's Revenge Of The Fallen.

"I think it takes awhile to get it right. I think we did not want the third one to suck," Bay said. "The second one, we had a tough go because we had a writers' strike. It was a very, very tough thing to make a movie under those circumstances. It affected a lot of Hollywood at that time."

Discussing his approach for the upcoming third Transformers movie, Bay compared the robot blockbuster to Ridley Scott's war film Black Hawk Down.

"We have a better story. It's epic and it happens in a city," he commented. "It's more accessible because you recognise stuff - it's not in a desert. It's kind of like 'Black Hawk Down' with our small group of heroes in a city."

Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, starring Shia LaBeouf and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, opens in cinemas on July 1.

Depp enjoyed Cruz team-up on 'Pirates

Johnny Depp has revealed that he enjoyed working with Penelope Cruz in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

The 47-year-old explained that he was happy for Cruz to be joining the cast as the character of Angelica because of how well she can act.

He told DS: "She's a serious force to be reckoned with, Penelope. We did a film together years ago called Blow - I could've said we did Blow together years ago. That really would’ve made [the headline].

"So we did this film Blow together and she's wonderful, really a treat. She's a heavy hitter, you can throw all kinds of things up into the atmosphere and she'll snatch up something and throw a curve ball back at you.

"She's very stimulating, she's someone I adore, one of my best friends. It's been great having her.”

Depp, who plays Jack Sparrow in the series of films, also discussed his approach to playing the character for a fourth time.

He added: "I mean I honestly think this whole thing about characters and character arcs and 'finding themselves' and this and that, I honestly think old Captain Jack found himself a long time ago. I don't think there's any more room to - he can't go any further, I think he's hit a wall as it were."

Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is due out later this year.

Fassbender explains 'Prometheus' links

Michael Fassbender has confirmed that Ridley Scott's upcoming science fiction film Prometheus will definitely be connected to the Alien franchise.

The film started out as a prequel to Scott's original Alien movie, until continued work between Scott and Lost writer Damon Lindelof led to the project evolving into Prometheus.

"Oh absolutely. There's a definite connecting vein," Fassbender told MTV News, when asked whether the film was still linked to the Alien universe. "You realise you're part of something else, but it's definitely in keeping with the old ones.

"It's new, yet it's in keeping with the old traditions as well. But there's a whole new revelation within this film."

The X-Men: First Class actor claimed that Prometheus is similar in tone to the original Alien in terms of being more of a thriller, as opposed to the film's three sequels, which focused more on action.

Prometheus, which also stars Noomi Rapace and Charlize Theron, is due for release in cinemas on June 8, 2012.

Fassbender explains Magneto inspiration

Michael Fassbender has claimed that he based his interpretation of the iconic super-villain Magneto in X-Men: First Class on the comic books themselves.

The Inglourious Basterds actor admits that he tried to steer clear of attempting to imitate Ian McKellen's critically-acclaimed portrayal of the character in the first three X-Men films.

"I haven't based it on him at all actually, and I hope fans aren't going to be disappointed by that, because I know he's rated as number one comic villain, well he's up there anyway," Fassbender told SuperheroHype.

"I just tried to steep myself in the source material, the comic books, and there's so much," the actor explained. "He's such a fascinating guy, and how he becomes Magneto is a really interesting journey."

Fassbender revealed that he feels that one of the most important elements of the character, despite its exclusion from the upcoming film, was Magneto's early relationship with Magda, his lover who runs away after witnessing him murder a mob of people.

"You don't see that relationship [with Magda], I've just held that for my own personal use in developing the character, so when we meet him at the beginning of this film, he's definitely a lone wolf," Fassbender added.

X-Men: First Class will be released in cinemas on June 3.

"It kind of entices the next generation to look at history in a way that's new and creative," he added.
