Anil Kapoor is close to agreeing a role in Mission: Impossible 4, it has been revealed.

Damon to direct Affleck in 'The Trade'?

Ben Affleck has revealed that Matt Damon could make his directorial debut on the pair's baseball drama The Trade.

The movie centres on New York Yankees players Fritz Peterson and Mike Kekich who, during 1973 spring training, announced that they had traded wives. Affleck and Damon may star as Peterson and Kekich respectively.

Speaking to MTV, Affleck said that he and his brother Casey Affleck will pen the script together.

"Once the script’s kind of ready, then it’s like, Who’s doing what? What’s the time frame? Matt, me, Casey directing?" he said.

"Particularly for Matt, he’s had this extraordinary career where he’s worked with these great directors. He’s a great director who just hasn’t directed a movie."

Damon worked with the Affleck brothers on Good Will Hunting, scooping an Oscar with Ben for original screenwriting. Ben has since helmed crime dramas Gone Baby Gone and The Town, while Casey directed mock-documentary I'm Still Here.

Bruce Willis reveals 'Die Hard' exit plan

Bruce Willis has announced that he intends to retire his Die Hard character John McClane in the near future.

The 55-year-old, who recently claimed that a fifth instalment of the action franchise will begin filming in 2011, detailed his planned exit from the series after sharing his fear of being replaced by a younger star.

He told FHM: "In the next few years they could easily find a replacement for me or call the character someone else. But for me, I want to do Die Hard 5, then one final Die Hard movie - Die Hard 6 - before finally hanging that white vest up for good.

"At the moment, I can run and I can fight on screen. But there will come a time when I no longer want to do that. That's when I'll step away from the Die Hard films."

Willis also revealed that he had been behind the iconic character's most well-known line, which came about after an argument with the film's producers.

"Take the first Die Hard - I was the one who came up with the line, 'Yippee ki-yay motherf**ker!' The producers were trying to give me their take on how I should say a certain line at that point in the movie, and I disagreed.

"So they said, 'You do it'. So I did. Yippee ki-yay was some goofy thing that cowboys used to say in those movies, so I added the 'motherf**ker' bit as I thought it was a nice, contrasting combination of the two images. And it worked. That expression's really stuck around, that's for sure."

Matt Damon written out of 'Bourne Legacy'

Tony Gilroy has revealed that Matt Damon's Jason Bourne character won't appear in The Bourne Legacy.

The Michael Clayton helmer, who penned scripts for each of the three Bourne films and will write and direct Legacy, shed light on the latest franchise entry to Hollywood Elsewhere.

"This is not a reboot or a recast or a prequel," he said. "No one's replacing Matt Damon. There will be a whole new hero, a whole new chapter… this is a stand-alone project."

Gilroy continued: "Jason Bourne will not be in this film, but he's very much alive. What happened in the first three films is the trigger for what happens.

"I'm building a legend and an environment and a wider conspiracy...the world we're making enhances and advances and invites Jason Bourne's return [down the road]."

Gilroy added that Bourne Legacy will show audiences "the bigger picture, the bigger canvas" surrounding Jason Bourne's actions in the previous movies.

The Bourne Legacy is due to arrive in cinemas in 2012.

Bradley Cooper sought for 'The Flash'?

Rumours that Bradley Cooper is in line for the title role in DC and Warner Bros' The Flash have emerged.

According to Moviehole, the Hangover star is the frontrunner to play the Scarlet Speedster in the proposed comic book adaptation.

Green Lantern screenwriters Marc Guggenheim, Michael Green and Greg Berlanti are working on a script for the project. Their latest draft is expected to be completed between Thanksgiving and Christmas 2010.

Previous reports have also linked Berlanti with the director's chair, although an "inside source" has since told Deadline that the scribe is unlikely to helm the venture.

"He won't want to direct it because he kinda wants to do something in between size-wise first before attempting something that large," said the insider. "If Warner Bros does like the script and wants him to direct it... But that's a lot of ifs. And all of it is moot if they don't dig the script. Green Lantern wasn't real until the studio liked the draft."

The Flash is tentatively scheduled to arrive in theatres in 2013

Stephen Lang wants 'X-Men' role

Avatar actor Stephen Lang has expressed interest in portraying X-Men character Cable in a future film.

Speaking to Screen Rant at the New York Comic Con, Lang said that he would be "happy to" star as the mutant soldier should 20th Century Fox ever approach him.

"One of [my] boys mentioned to me - he says, 'Hey pops, they're talking about you for Cable'," he said. "I said, 'Who would that be?' And so he Googled him for me and I saw him and I thought, 'Oh wow, he's cool'."

When asked whether the role would interest him, Lang responded: "Sure, why not? I'd be happy to. You read it all, everything that comes across. And if it makes sense, if it's a cool character, if it's a theme you want to explore... sure."

Cable co-creator Rob Liefeld previously issued a plea to 20th Century Fox, singling Lang out as the ideal actor to play the character.

"Dear 20th Century Fox, please sign [Stephen] Lang as Cable and put him in your next X-Men film," the artist wrote on Twitter. "Lang's performance as Quaritch in Avatar was brilliant. Just attach a cyborg arm to him and presto! He's Cable. Perfect age too."
