Stallone: 'Bruce, Arnie were my enemies'
Sylvester Stallone has confessed that he used to consider fellow action heroes Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis to be enemies.
The trio make their first appearance together in this summer's big budget blockbuster The Expendables, but the Rambo star revealed that he didn't take too kindly to his rivals in the past when they were competing for roles.
"I was very competitive with them, and very jealous if they got a better movie or script than me," he told FHM. "That's what made us push so hard, and it's why Arnold was so great.
"He was far more diligent than me; I was too reckless. He's very machine-like and I did consider him an enemy. But, looking back, it was a good enemy."
Although old feuds have been forgotten, Stallone added that he was left stunned by a foul mouthed ad-lib Willis directed at him and Schwarzenegger in one of their scenes together.
"He goes, 'Why don't you just suck each other's c**ks?' I thought, 'You can't tell Rambo and The Terminator to suck each other's c**ks!'
"I said to the guys, 'You know what, that's worth the price of admission alone!'"
The Expendables, which also features Hollywood hard men Jason Statham and Mickey Rourke, is released in the US on August 13 and arrives in the UK one week later.
