Halle Berry swims with sharks for new film

Halle Berry has been swimming with great white sharks as part of her starring role in new film Dark Tide.

Also starring Olivier Martinez, the thriller sees the actress play a diving instructor who survives a near-fatal shark attack.

However, the movie, directed by John Stockwell, has been criticised by shark experts in Simon's Town, South Africa where the scenes were filmed.

Alison Kock from the Save Our Seas Foundation told the Daily Mail: "After reading the script we decided it was not something we would like to put our names to.

"Our mandate is to try to change people's perceptions of sharks. The first script that we got sounded very much like it had a thriller aspect to it and a personal kind of aspect to it as well."

She added: "But fighting off a shark, or surviving a shark attack - we couldn't see the positive side of that, as much as we tried."

New 'X-Men' changes due to 'Inception'

X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn has revealed that he had to change the superhero movie's script due to Inception.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Vaughn said that a sequence of "dream-space combat" had to be removed from the film because it too closely resembled action scenes from Christopher Nolan's just-released sci-fi thriller.

He explained: "I saw Inception, which I loved. But my heart sank when I saw that a few of the ideas we had were up [on the screen]. So it's either leave it in and look as if you're copying or change things. We completely ripped out about 12 pages of the script and the storyboards."

In a separate interview with IGN, Vaughn noted that producer Bryan Singer's original story idea for the movie puts the Marvel Comics mutants in a historical context.

"The story that Bryan Singer came up with is very, very smart," he said. "It's very clever when you see how he has integrated the characters into the time period where the film is set. I'll put it that way. I just don't want to give it away... It's a very clever way of getting these characters involved in recent history, in recent world events."

X-Men: First Class begins production later this year with James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, Nicholas Hoult, Alice Eve and Jennifer Lawrence among its cast.

Silva gets 'Strippers Vs. Werewolves' role

Ex-Emmerdale star Adele Silva has been cast in horror comedy Strippers Vs. Werewolves.

The movie, which is being produced by Dead Cert's Jonathan Sothcott, will revolve around the accidental killing of werewolf chief Jack Ferris in a stripclub. The girls who work at the venue then have until the next full moon before his pack seeks them out for revenge.

Silva told Digital Spy of her role in the production: "I'm really looking forward to being involved in S vs. W. The script is very funny and all the female roles are very strong.

"It's something you can get your teeth into, which is great for an actress. It makes a nice change from all the guy-centric, gun-toting gangster films out there - a bit of girl power for a change!"

Sothcott, whose 2008 film Karma Magnet also starred Silva, added of the 29-year-old's casting: "Adele's a really underrated actress. She did my first film years ago and I've been looking for something else to do with her. She has terrific comic timing and, obviously, is really hot, so I had to offer her Strippers Versus Werewolves!

"It's an out and out comedy, but more in the style of '80s movies like Vamp, Fright Night and The Monster Squad than Lesbian Vampire Killers!"

Silva also appeared in the 2009 Danny Dyer movie Doghouse.
