Producer "convinced" of Bond return

Producer Michael G. Wilson has said that he is "convinced" the 23rd James Bond movie will go into production soon.

Wilson, who oversees the spy franchise alongside his half-sister Barbara Broccoli, claimed that the financial problems faced by Bond studio MGM won't keep the franchise permanently in hibernation.

"Both Barbara and I are convinced that we'll be bringing you another Bond film soon," Wilson told IGN at the launch of 007 video game Blood Stone.

Daniel Craig's third outing as the British spy was scheduled to go into production this year with American Beauty director Sam Mendes at the helm. However, the film had to be scrapped due to MGM's ongoing cash crisis.

Cage praises 'Sorcerer' co-star Baruchel

Nicolas Cage has revealed that he enjoyed acting alongside Jay Baruchel in The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

In an interview with Screen Crave, Cage insisted that he likes working with young actors because they always bring a refreshing approach to their craft.

The 46-year-old said: "I love working with young actors because they always come into the game full of energy and ideas that challenge me and keep me learning something and stimulated.

"Jay is somebody who in my opinion subscribes to what I like to call 'jazz-style acting'. He's not afraid to go off the page and improvise and throw something at you so I can riff with him and some accidents would happen where you get better - more real truth. We kept that going the whole time."

He added: "The other thing I want to say about Jay is that I've always believed that the greatest actors are the ones that have the voices that are amenable. My heroes are like Humphrey Bogart and Clint Eastwood and James Cagney, Edward G. Robinson, Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, well, Jay's got a voice and that's hard to have.

"When you see How To Train Your Dragon it just jumps off at you. He gets in your head and he's going to be around forever."

The Sorcerer's Apprentice is currently playing in the US and opens in UK cinemas on August 13

Neeson: 'A-Team shoot was therapeutic'

Liam Neeson has admitted that filming The A-Team helped him come to terms with his wife's sudden death.

Neeson, who was married to actress Natasha Richardson, said that he found shooting action scenes for the big-screen version of the '80s television show "therapeutic". Richardson passed away in March 2009 after suffering a brain haemorrhage caused by a fall.

According to the News of the World, the actor, who plays John 'Hannibal' Smith in the film, said: "I'm scared when I wake up in the morning - just what the day is going to entail. But these guys in the A-Team know no fear.

"It's like they are not scared of anything and that's an amazing quality, I think. I'd love to have that quality in real life.

He added: "It was just a joy to come on set in the mornings and be with these kids - these guys. It's given me a whole new lease of life at the age of 58.

"It was great to sweat every day and learn these fights. I found it very therapeutic."

Neeson also revealed that he wasn't a fan of the original television series, but was convinced to take on the film by the quality of the script.

"Bradley [Cooper], [Quinton] Rampage [Johnson] and those guys were ten or 11 years old and it was iconic for them," he said. "But for me, even though it was very popular in Ireland, it wasn't my cup of tea.

"[But the script] was wonderful. It wasn't as campy as the old A-Team... but it was rooted in reality in real trouble spots around the world.

"And when I met Joe Carnahan, the director, I loved his energy. And it was a no-brainer."

The A-Team is currently in US cinemas and is released in the UK on July 30.

Eisner: 'Escape From LA was terrible'

Breck Eisner has admitted that he is not a fan sci-fi action sequel Escape From LA.

The Crazies director told DS that his upcoming remake of 1981 original Escape From New York will not suffer from the same flaws as the poorly-received 1996 follow-up.

Eisner said: "The original was great, Escape From LA was terrible, I will not hesitate to say that, I thought that movie was awful! I think we can easily avoid the problems.

"We've a really good script and it's very similar to the original and it'll be true to the character Snake Plissken, but it's also very different because the times have changed dramatically. I'm really excited about the movie, I think it has the potential to bring a whole new audience."

Of his planned Flash Gordon reboot, he added: "We didn't actually option the rights to the '80s version, we optioned the initial comic book rights.

"The movie is very much based on the Alex Raymond strip from the '30s. It's not going to be campy and it's definitely not a remake of the English version."

Speaking to Blastr, the producer confirmed the rumours that Lautner was approached to star in 20th Century Fox's superhero prequel.

The filmmaker also ruled out stepping behind the camera for Wolverine 2, saying: "It's not what I'm going to do right now, the next project for me next year, in London, is Jack The Giant Killer that is set in the 1300s and it's very fun. It will be a big movie."

James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence will star in X-Men: First Class, due in cinemas in June 2011.

'Arrested Development' exec confirms film

Will Arnett has revealed that there are still plans to make a movie version of Arrested Development.

Rumours that a film would be made were confirmed in 2008 but the future of the project has appeared unclear.

Arnett, who played George 'Gob' Bluth, has now told GQ: "Yes, it's happening."

However, he added that the script is not yet finished and explained that although all the original cast members have agreed to appear, there is no timetable for the movie.

Meanwhile, the show's executive producer Mitch Hurwitz said: "Believe it or not, we have started the script. We're taking a little abeyance while we get [new show Running Wilde] up and running. But it is our absolute next priority and we can't wait to do it."

Hurwitz added that he has a "clear path" for the movie to take and apologised for not giving fans more information.

"Believe it or not, I do not enjoy teasing our wonderful and devoted audience, which is one reason it appears that I've been so cagey about this," he said. "It's just that I don't want to promise what I can't deliver."

Lohan to do "full frontal nudity"

Lindsay Lohan will reportedly appear fully nude from the waist up in the upcoming film Inferno.

According to Radar Online, the actress, who portrays famous pornstar Linda Lovelace in the movie, will show her breasts on-camera as part of a "violent" sex scene.

“There will be full frontal nudity, but it will not be cinematic nudity - it will be more violent nudity," said director Matthew Wilder.

“It’s not a porn movie, it’s an artistic movie about a porn star. We will not see Lindsay performing oral sex, but there could be some clever play with black boxes or other cinematic tricks that the viewer may see.”

Wilder recently insisted that he is still committed to the 24-year-old and would not replace her in the film "under any circumstances".

Inferno will begin shooting after Lohan completes her 90-day prison sentence as well as 90 days of rehab.

Sylvester Stallone has insisted that being injured on the set of a film is a "good omen".

The 63-year-old was recently advised to quit doing his own stunts after hurting himself while shooting The Expendables.

However, he insisted that his past movies have done well when he has injured himself during filming.

"It's a good omen. Every film I've done where I got injured has turned out great," he explained to Maxim.

"Rocky II was 60 stitches; Rocky III was a concussion; the last Rambo was a bruised artery. Ones where I come out unscathed? Disasters."

The Expendables will be released in the UK on August 20.

Murray: 'Ghostbusters 3 has vapourised'

Bill Murray has claimed that plans for a third Ghostbusters movie have "vapourised".

Speaking to GQ, the actor said that the critical and commercial failure of Year One, directed by Harold Ramis and penned by Ghostbusters 3 writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, has cast doubt on the sequel getting made.

He said: "It's all a bunch of crock. It's a crock. There was a story - and I gotta be careful here, I don't want to hurt someone's feelings. When I hurt someone's feelings, I really want to hurt them! Harold Ramis said, 'Oh, I've got these guys, they write on The Office, and they're really funny. They're going to write the next Ghostbusters'.

"They had just written this movie that he had directed... Well, I never went to see Year One, but people who did, including other Ghostbusters, said it was one of the worst things they had ever seen in their lives.

"So that dream just vapourised. That was gone. But it's the studio that really wants this thing. It's a franchise. It's a franchise, and they made a whole lot of money on Ghostbusters."

Efron 'hasn't earned right to be action star'

Zac Efron has claimed that he hasn't yet earned the right to lead a superhero movie.

The former High School Musical star revealed to Movieline that he is a fan of comic book films, although he doesn't think audiences would take to him in an action role.

"I think for me, I need to have the belief in myself to be able to go and do that," he said. "Also, I have a self-awareness of what is out there: Right now, if I was looking at me from someone else's eyes - like the eyes of the guys who are going to go watch a superhero movie - I can't say that I'd be 'two thumbs up' for me to star in an action movie right now."

Efron, who praised the casting of Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern and Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, insisted that he isn't ready to play a superhero.

He commented: "Why would I be? I haven't done anything to pay those dues yet, I haven't made any movies for those fans yet. I think you have to earn the right to hold a gun. You have to earn the right to shoot web."

Efron's latest movie, Charlie St Cloud, opens in the US on July 30 and the UK on October 8.
