Julianne Moore has shot a lesbian sex scene with Annette Bening for upcoming movie The Kids Are All Right.

During the filming of the picture, the pair were forced to endure much heat under a thick bed linen.

Director Lisa Cholodenko told the New York Daily News: "Julianne had to spend a lot of time under it, and I started to get really worried. [I kept asking Annette,] 'Is she suffocating down there?'

"[Julianne replied,] 'I'm fine under here, let's keep going!'"

The Kids Are All Right will be released on July 9 in the US.

New 'James Bond' film scrapped?



The new James Bond film has reportedly been scrapped due to a shortage of studio money.

The filming of Bond 23 was put on hold indefinitely in April, but there are now rumours that the movie has been scrapped altogether.

MGM studios, who were co-funding the Daniel Craig film, have suffered from well-documented financial troubles in the past year, and are believed to have axed the £132 million blockbuster.

A source told The Mirror: "Members of the production crew have been told the Bond film has been canned.

“There is a lot of bad feeling as a lot of time, money and hard work has already gone into this.”

Revolutionary Road director Sam Mendes and Frost/Nixon writer Peter Morgan were already attached to the project.

Andrew Garfield to play Spider-Man



Andrew Garfield has been slated to play Peter Parker in the upcoming Spider-Man film.

Sony Pictures announced on Thursday that the 27-year-old, who is relatively unknown in the acting world, will fill the title role in the upcoming Marc Webb production.

"Though his name may be new to many, those who know this young actor's work understand his extraordinary talents," Webb said.

"He has a rare combination of intelligence, wit and humanity. Mark my words, you will love Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker."

Producer Avi Arad added: "I'm incredibly excited about Andrew Garfield. In the Spider-Man tradition, we were looking for a smart, sensitive, and cool new Peter Parker who can inspire us and make us laugh, cry, and cheer.

"We believe we have found the perfect choice to take on this role and lead us into the future."

Garfield will succeed Tobey Maguire, who portrayed Parker in the first three films.

Spider-Man will be shot in 3D and is scheduled for a July 2012 release.

'Community' star joins 'Scream 4'



Community star Alison Brie has joined the cast of Scream 4, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The actress, who also appears in Mad Men, will play Rebecca, the personal assistant to Neve Campbell's Sidney Prescott who is jealous of her boss's fame.

Mary McDonnell (Battlestar Galactica) has also signed up for the horror sequel in an unnamed role.

Scream 4 is currently shooting in Michigan under the direction of Wes Craven. Neve Campbell, David Arquette, Courteney Cox, Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Marley Shelton and Adam Brody are all confirmed for the cast.

Abigail Spencer for 'Cowboys and Aliens'



Abigail Spencer has signed to co-star in upcoming sci-fi action film Cowboys and Aliens.

The Mad Men actress joins Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde and Sam Rockwell in the picture, directed by Jon Favreau.

The movie is based on the Platinum Studios graphic novel about cowboys and Indians battling alien invaders.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Spencer will play a prostitute named Alice, a former love of Daniel Craig's lead character.

Filming is already underway in Santa Fe, NM.

Cowboys and Aliens arrives in US cinemas July 2011.

Reed, Woll to co-star in 'Catch .44'



Nikki Reed and Deborah Ann Woll have landed co-starring roles in upcoming indie drama Catch .44.

Reed (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) and Woll (True Blood) join Bruce Willis, Malin Ackerman and Forest Whitaker in the thriller, reports Deadline.

Aaron Harvey is directing the picture, which centres on three beautiful female assassins who are sent on a dangerous mission.

Production is scheduled to begin July 8 in Louisiana.

DreamWorks developing 'Fall Guy' movie



A movie based on 1980s TV series The Fall Guy is reportedly in the works.

Producer Walter Parkes and studio DreamWorks are developing the film, based on the action-adventure series starring Lee Majors, reports the Los Angeles Times.

The original show aired from 1981 to 1986 on ABC. Majors played a Hollywood stuntman who moonlighted as a bounty hunter. The series was known for its elaborate stunts and explosions.

The Fall Guy is the latest in a string of recent 1980s TV series to receive the big screen treatment, including The A-Team and the upcoming Equalizer film with Russell Crowe attached to star.

'Hostel III' heads to Vegas without Roth



The upcoming Hostel III will reportedly take place in Las Vegas.

The first two films in the horror series featured characters being kidnapped and tortured in Eastern Europe. However, the upcoming sequel will feature a Vegas bachelor party gone wrong, reports Empire.

Scott Spiegel is taking over the director's chair from Eli Roth, who recently confirmed via Twitter that he is not involved with the project.

Roth tweeted: "Rumour Control: not producing Hostel 3, but it's in the VERY capable hands of director Scott Spiegel & producers Mike Fleiss & Chris Briggs."

He added: "There was a huge demand to continue the series and they are the right team to do it. They're very smart, creative, and really get it."

Hostel III is scheduled to begin production in August.

Sean Penn to play surfer Paskowitz?



Sean Penn is reportedly in talks to portray legendary surfer Dorian 'Doc' Paskowitz in a biopic.

According to Variety, Penn is producing the film and is now in negotiations to star.

Paskowitz and his family were the subject of Doug Pray's documentary Surfwise. Paskowitz abandoned a career in medicine to concentrate on surfing.

The surfer and his wife lived on the road in camper vans for 25 years. They set up the first surf camps and raised nine children.

Kevin Williamson replaced on 'Scream 4'



Scream creator Kevin Williamson has allegedly been replaced as screenwriter on the latest instalment in the horror franchise.

According to Zap2It, director Wes Craven has drafted in Ehren Kruger to work on the script for the currently in-production sequel.

Williamson, who penned the first two Scream films before Kruger came on board to write the third, is now said to have no involvement in the series.

Sources have claimed that Hayden Panettiere is "beyond frustrated with the changes" to the script as her character "used to be really sharp" but has been "dumbed down significantly".

The deputy sheriff role for Marley Shelton, recently vacated by Lake Bell, has also been cut down and Lauren Graham is said to have quit the project after losing screen time in her role as Emma Roberts's mother.

Kruger's other writing credits include Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen and The Ring, while Williamson is a producer on The CW show Vampire Diaries.

Two 'Mad Max' movies in development?



Filmmaker George Miller is reportedly prepping two new Mad Max movies.

According to Twitch, the director will follow up his upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road with another film called Mad Max: Furiosa.

The movies are apparently scheduled to be shot back to back for a rapid release.

Fury Road, starring Nicholas Hoult, Zoe Kravitz and Tom Hardy, is due to arrive in US cinemas in 2011.

Maggie Gyllenhaal to star in 'Hysteria'



Maggie Gyllenhaal has reportedly begun negotiations to star in a film about the origins of the vibrator.

According to the Daily Mail, the actress is in talks to take the lead role in the Victorian-era drama Hysteria.

The film, which is to be directed by Tanya Wexler, will also star Rupert Everett, Hugh Dancy and Jonathan Pryce.

The film will reportedly be shot in London and Luxembourg.

In March, Gyllenhaal admitted that she is often left confused when she visits the UK.

Colin Farrell to play Ozzy Osbourne?



Colin Farrell has reportedly agreed to star as Ozzy Osbourne in a upcoming biopic of the rock legend's life.

Despite the 61-year-old Black Sabbath frontman's desire to be played by an unknown from his home city of Birmingham, Perez Hilton reports that the 34-year-old Crazy Heart star has signed on for the role.

A source said: "At least Colin and Ozzy are on the same page when it comes to using four-letter words! Colin drinks, he smokes, he womanises. He's just a sleeve tattoo away from being a real rock star."

Hilton went on to express his approval at the casting, saying: "The more we think about it, the more we think that he'll nail it!"

Osbourne revealed last month that Johnny Depp had been lined up to play him back in 2003.

Daniel Craig shortlisted for 'Sweeney'



Daniel Craig has been shortlisted to play the iconic part of George Carter for the movie remake of The Sweeney, according to reports.

The James Bond actor joins Ewan McGregor, Orlando Bloom and Tom Hardy in expressing "huge interest" for the adaptation of ITV's classic 1970s cop show, says the News of the World.

Ray Winstone is rumoured to have been cast as Regan, who was originally played by Inspector Morse actor John Thaw.

"All four are keen on the role but whoever ends up doing it will change the movie's tone. Ray's going to be great as Regan but the chemistry between him and Carter needs to be right," a source said.

"The success of Life On Mars shows there's a huge appetite for '70s cop dramas. With the right cast The Sweeney could be even bigger."

McKellen could walk away from 'Hobbit'



Sir Ian McKellen has revealed that he may not reprise his role as wizard Gandalf in The Hobbit, reports Bleeding Cool.

The British actor, who is currently touring New Zealand with a stage production of Waiting For Godot, told Good Morning that he isn't "sitting waiting" for the fantasy movie to get made.

He said: "Well I'm not under contract and my time is running out and I'm enjoying working in the theatre and frankly, I would like to race after doing Waiting For Godot, get on with doing another play but we'll have to see. I don't give the producers the impression that I'm sitting waiting."

McKellen also insisted that an announcement about the troubled J.R.R. Tolkien adaptation is imminent, saying: "What it will be, I genuinely don't know - it'll either be that we're going ahead or that we're not."

The Hobbit has been plagued by production problems, with the departure of director Guillermo del Toro and co-financier MGM's solvency issues delaying the movie. It has recently been reported that Lord Of The Rings helmer Peter Jackson is negotiating to return to the director's chair.

Studio eyeing Lautner for 'X-Men' role?



Twentieth Century Fox is reportedly looking to cast Taylor Lautner in X-Men: First Class.

According to Showbiz 411, the studio has checked the Twilight star's availability for the project.

Lautner could join James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender in the upcoming superhero movie.

Actor Benjamin Walker, who was in negotiations to play Beast, apparently dropped out of the project recently.

Details on Lautner's potential role in the upcoming film have not been reported.

X-Men: First Class, based on Marvel Comics characters and directed by Matthew Vaughn, is scheduled for a summer 2011 release.

Robert Rodriguez rewriting 'Sin City 2'



Robert Rodriguez has revealed that he is working on the script for Sin City 2.

The film-maker, who will next make a Spy Kids sequel in September, told Digital Spy that he is still hoping to direct the follow-up to his 2005 adaptation of Frank Miller's popular Dark Horse comic.

"We're still working on Sin City, I want to do it so we'll see. It's just a matter of when," said Rodriguez.

"We have a script... a rewritten script that we still have to write and it's just finding the right time slot to do it."

Rodriguez also revealed to Movieweb that he is still in regular contact with Mike Allred about the comic creator's Madman title, which he optioned in 1998.

Margo Stilley quits Madonna's 'W.E.'



Margo Stilley has reportedly quit the cast of Madonna's upcoming directorial effort W.E..

The actress left the project over "artistic differences", she told The Sunday Telegraph.

Madonna is now looking to replace Stilley for the role of Lady Thelma Furness in the period drama.

"I had the role, but we had artistic differences. She (Madonna) is really something. I wish the cast luck because they are all really talented," Stilley said.

Abbie Cornish and James D'Arcy are starring in the picture, which is scheduled for a 2011 release.

Demi Lovato has said that she wants to take on serious film roles like Angelina Jolie.

Speaking to Teen Vogue, the 17-year-old also explained that she would like to star in action movies.

"I want to be able to play more serious parts. I think it would be awesome to play an Angelina Jolie-type role in an action movie," Lovato commented.

The producers of Riptide are hoping to cast Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf in the upcoming thriller.

According to Pajiba, Summit Entertainment has put out offers to both actors to co-star in the film.

The mystery movie is set on board a ship called the Nautica. The plot involves a handyman, a young stock broker, the stock broker’s girlfriend and an apparent murder.
