Theroux denies 'Zoolander 2' axe

Screenwriter Justin Theroux has denied that Zoolander 2 has been axed by Paramount.

Star Ben Stiller recently wrote on his Twitter page that his dimwitted male model character Derek Zoolander had not the "means or intellect to fund [his] own comeback".

Theroux, who is writing and is slated to direct the film, told Movieline that work is continuing on the comedy sequel.

He said: "Today and yesterday I was with Ben, and today, we continued to break story. I have not gotten word from anyone to put pencils down, so I am continuing as though we are proceeding with that film."

When asked about the meaning behind Stiller's tweet, Theroux added: "I wish I could answer that! Honestly, I don't know. You'd have to ask Ben. I have no clue what those things mean. I've heard them, too. We're operating as though it’s absolutely going."

Brendan Fraser 'has no boundaries'

Matt Prokop has praised his Furry Vengeance co-star Brendan Fraser for being willing to make a fool of himself in order to get a laugh.

Prokop, who plays the son of Fraser's property developer Dan Sanders, told Digital Spy that his fellow cast member was not afraid to risk embarrassment when making the family comedy.

He said: "Brendan has no boundaries. He's always willing to get a laugh. He has to wear a pink 'Yum Yum' jumpsuit that does not fit him at all. He spent the whole day wearing it - showing off and doing little dance moves. Brendan's always down for a laugh."

Prokop also admitted that he was nervous before going in to meet Fraser and Brooke Shields, who portrays his mother Tammy.

"Growing up I was huge fans of both of them," he said. "[It was] very nerve-wracking, I was very scarred going into it, but after the first meeting me and Brooke went for a four-hour walk. We just hung out, went to lunch, she made it very personal like she was my mum so that way the on-screen chemistry was there with the family."

Men In Black III In 3D To Be Released 2012

Okay, hold on a second while I put on my sunglasses. [Pause] Okay, here we go. Now, I’m just going to hold this little device up to your eyes, and you’re going to see a tiny flash. And then you know what’s going to happen? You’re going to forget that Men In Black II ever happened.

And if that doesn’t wash your memory of MIB2, hopefully this will: Columbia Pictures announced today that Men In Black III will be released in 3-D on May 25, 2012. The whole crew is set to return as well — according to Columbia’s press release, deals have been made with Will Smith and director Barry Sonnenfeld, and advanced negotiations are in place with Tommy Lee Jones. (Also close to being on board: Josh Brolin, who is in talks to star as the young version of Jones’ Agent Kay.)

So now that we know they’re all back together, the question is: Are we pumped for the sequel? It’s been eight years since MIB2, so here’s hoping the crew has had time to digest what went wrong the second time around. All I can say is I’m kind of glad Vincent D’Onofrio isn’t on board this time — a 3-D version of his sugar-water loving Edgar/cockroach would be petrifying. What say you, PopWatchers?
