Panettiere pilot moves forward at The CW

Hayden Panettiere's pilot HMS has received a presentation order from The CW.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project has gathered interest at the network along with two others titled Hellcats and Betwixt.

HMS focuses on a group of sexy Harvard Medical School students and sees the Heroes actress serve as co-executive producer.

Hellcats, which centres on the world of cheerleading and is executive produced by Smallville's Tom Welling, also received a presentation order, while Betwixt, based on the novel of the same name, will film a full pilot.

Michael Shanks wants "dream" 'Five-O' role

Michael Shanks has admitted that landing the part of Danno on the new Hawaii Five-O remake would be a "dream come true".

The Stargate: SG1 star told Scifiwire that he hopes the programme will be updated for the 21st century, after auditioning for the detective role.

"I'm sure there's some updates, because I don't think we could pull off that kind of brow furrowing with a straight face in this day and age. I'll tell you one thing, to go to Hawaii to shoot a series would be a dream come true, that's for certain," he said.

The actor also commented that he doesn't feel sorry for the cast of Lost since they shoot in Hawaii every day.

"I don't feel too bad for the people on Lost. Oh, you're on Lost. Poor guys. Yeah. Boo-hoo. Go back to your cabana and have another mojito," he joked.

Pilot intel: David Krumholtz transfers to IRS! Is 'Numb3rs' dead?

David Krumholtz’ next gig will keep him in the numbers game.

The actor has been cast as the lead in Fox’s Untitled Ron Howard IRS pilot, sources confirm to me exclusively. The multi-camera workplace comedy, penned by Office writer-director Brent Forrester, is set at an Internal Revenue Service district office. Howard is exec producing with Imagine’s Brian Grazer and David Nevins.

For Krumholtz, the project is in second position to Numb3rs, which is not expected back next season.

Alex O'Loughlin Booked for Hawaii Five-O

Alex O'Loughlin (Moonlight, Three Rivers) has been cast in the lead role of the CBS reboot, playing Steve McGarrett, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Jack Lord portrayed him in the original series.

Lost star tapped for Hawaii Five-O

This casting comes just days after Lost star Daniel Dae Kim snagged the role of Detective Chin Ho Kelly, who was originally played by Kam Fong.

The new Hawaii Five-O comes from Fringe co-creators Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and CSI: NY executive producer/co-showrunner Peter Lenkov.
