Weaver returning for 'Avatar' sequel?

Sigourney Weaver has said that she is considering returning for an Avatar sequel.

Speaking to CineBuzz TV, the Oscar nominee revealed that she has talked with director James Cameron about reprising her role for another Avatar movie.

Weaver said that Cameron has a few ideas on how to bring her character back for a follow-up, even though she seemed to pass away in the first film.

"I'm in the tree," she teased, referring to the spiritual 'Tree of Souls' on Avatar's fictional planet Pandora.

Cameron recently confirmed that a sequel was always part of his plans for the franchise.

Cooper drops out of 'This Means War'

Bradley Cooper has left the cast of the upcoming spy comedy This Means War, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The Hangover star was set to play a spy who battles his best friend over a woman, played by Reese Witherspoon. Filming was originally scheduled to begin in the spring but has since been pushed back to July.

Cooper officially cited a scheduling conflict as the reason for his departure, though other sources claim that the split was due to creative concerns over the script. Several versions of the screenplay have been written during the film's decade-long development at 20th Century Fox.

Currently Role Models screenwriter Timothy Dowling is redrafting the latest version of the script, while Terminator Salvation director McG will reportedly direct.

Cooper, who will star as Templeton 'Face' Peck in the The A-Team, will begin filming The Hangover 2 this October.

'Wanted 2' going ahead without Jolie

Mark Millar has revealed that Wanted 2 is "certainly going ahead" without Angelina Jolie.

Speaking to STV, the Wanted creator refuted yesterday's news that Universal had pulled the sequel because of Jolie's non-involvement.

Millar said: "Wanted 2 will be certainly going ahead, because the first one made too much money for them not to do a sequel.

"What was funny was originally Wanted was just going to be one movie, and Angelina dies at the end, Morgan Freeman dies at the end - sorry to anyone who hasn’t bought it yet."

He continued: "The idea was that it was going to be self-contained, but the movie cost $75 million to make and it made $314 million back just theatrically. At the premiere the tracking was really good and everything, and the producer came up and said 'What are we going to do for Wanted 2?' and I was like 'I don't have any ideas!'"

Julianne Moore wants comedy roles

Julianne Moore has revealed that she would love to star in comedy films.

The actress, who is best known for her dramatic roles such as in Savage Grace and Hannibal, has admitted that she would like to act in a movie like There's Something About Mary, which starred Cameron Diaz.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, she said: "I though Cameron Diaz was great in that movie. I really enjoy watching all that kind of stuff.

"Really you want to have variety as an actor. If you spend your career doing one thing solidly, people get burned out. I like any kind of situational comedy. It breaks my heart that I'm not going to be in it."

Moore has also said that she is not keen on pursuing future theatre roles because she cannot commit to a large amount of time away from family.

She added: "It's very difficult to do when you have kids because the hours are fairly extreme.

"I did find it particularly difficult to do Broadway. It was not my favourite way to perform. When I do theatre I like it to be smaller, I like the audience to be closer, I like it to be less presentational."

Moore recently revealed that she puts her family above her career.

Jolie 'best kept out of 'Wanted' sequel'

Wanted creator Mark Millar has said that Angelina Jolie's non-involvement in the film's sequel is "more authentic".

However, Millar - who today revealed that Wanted 2 was going ahead without the actress - admitted that she was "the star of the show".

He told STV: "So they put something together, and it was bringing Angelina back from the dead and everything.

"I don't know, I think that probably just didn't sit easily with her, because it has to be a really good reason why somebody comes back from the dead," Millar said of Jolie's decision not to reprise her role in the film.

Millar added of Jolie's character: "I think it's actually more authentic if they keep her dead. She was the star of the movie really, but how cool is it to have the star dead and bring in another cool character for the next one.

"What I heard was that there's filming this year for a release at the end of next year, so the plot that they had will have some modifications now, her character will have to be written out completely. We'll see what happens.

"I don’t know, it changes every day. Again, things get so out of your hands with film because 300 people are involved, whereas with comics it's just you and your artist.

Matt Damon: 'Avatar suffered without me'

Matt Damon has joked that Avatar would have been more successful if he had starred in it.

Last month, director James Cameron revealed that he considered Damon for the lead role.

Damon has now explained that he turned down a part in the record-breaking movie because filming clashed with The Bourne Ultimatum.

"It's true, and I read the script and thought it was great," Damon told Access Hollywood. "I talked to [Cameron] a couple of times about it. It was when we were making The Bourne Ultimatum.

"The timing was just off. [Cameron] was great. He said, 'No, you should absolutely stay and finish the job'. He was a gentleman about it."

Damon added that he was upset he could not join the Avatar cast because he wanted to work with Cameron.

"It was harder to let go of because I really wanted to watch Jim Cameron work," he explained. "I always take jobs because of the director... I think everybody would like the chance to sit next to Cameron."

He also joked about the success of the movie and said: "Clearly my not participating cost the film a lot."

Damon was recently cast as Robert F. Kennedy in a new biopic of the politician.

Depp: 'I never want to disappoint Burton'

Johnny Depp has revealed that he worries he will "disappoint" Tim Burton every time that they collaborate on a film project.

The Alice In Wonderland star has said that he tries to impress the filmmaker by coming up with a "character" for each role.

Depp told Teen Hollywood: "Yeah, each time out of the gate with Tim the initial thing for me is to obviously come up with a character, but then you start thinking that there's a certain amount of pressure where you go, 'Jesus, will this be the one where I disappoint him?'

"I try really hard, especially early on, to just come up with something that's very different that he hasn't experienced before, that we haven't experienced together before and that I think will stimulate him and inspire him to make choices based on that character. So I basically try not to embarrass him."

Alice In Wonderland arrives in cinemas on March 5.

Depp: 'Hatter is dark and dangerous'

Johnny Depp has described his interpretation of Alice In Wonderland's Mad Hatter as "dark and dangerous".

Depp, who portrays the character with a Scottish accent, joked at the fantasy film's UK press conference that "every movie deserves a Braveheart sequence".

"With the Scottish accent it's something I did mess around with on Finding Neverland, it was a bit more Aberdeen," he remarked.

"Tim (Burton, director) and I early on were talking about him being made up of different people, the extreme side of these people. I wanted to go extremely dark and dangerous with the Scottish accent. I hope I arrived there. I like wearing skirts too!

Kingsley praises Scorsese, DiCaprio pairing

Sir Ben Kingsley has praised Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese for creating an inclusive working environment on set.

The Oscar-winning British actor, who is teaming with DiCaprio and Scorsese for the first time on Shutter Island, told reporters at the film's UK press conference that the pair were always open to collaboration with others, despite having worked together on three previous features.

"As another member of the cast observing this great longevity of a working relationship, [I was] never for a second excluded," Kingsley remarked. "Every debate on the set between Martin and Leonardo was shared - there's no shorthand, no whispering in corners, every single person on the set gets the benefit of this working relationship so that it's continually refreshed.

"You don't feel that it's private language... we were all part of that debate. Given the history of the relationship, that's quite generous and remarkable. It really lifted the whole set when they were together."

Shutter Island opens in the UK on March 12.

Daniel Radcliffe has admitted that he is becoming more aware that the end of Harry Potter is in sight.

The actor, who plays the title character in the magical franchise, told MTV News that it is "odd" that other stars in the movie are beginning to wrap up filming for the final instalment.

"We've had a few people finish off their stories in the film, and they've been going home, so that is odd," he explained.

"I did have a moment the other day, in the make-up room that I have been in for ten years now. I did walk in and go, 'Wow, this is [hitting me]. One day - in about four or five months from now - I'm gonna walk in here for the last time'.

"Especially because after we leave they're redoing the entire studio, tearing down and starting again."

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 will arrive in cinemas this November.
