However, a Sony Pictures representative has since insisted that the young actor has not been approached, telling WENN: "No offers have been made, nor have any business discussions been made with Lerman."

The new Spider-Man is expected to arrive in cinemas during 2012.

Investor threatens to sue Will Smith

A film investor is apparently threatening to sue Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith over a failed movie project.

TMZ says that legal papers filed in Los Angeles on Friday claim the couple guaranteed financier David Grasso a return investment on a film that lost money and went straight to DVD.

However, the Smiths have stated that they are not liable for Grasso's loss.

"Although we normally shun this type of controversy, we felt compelled to respond to the baseless threats and absurd allegations put forth by Mr Grasso's counsel," a rep for the couple said.

Pinkett-Smith reportedly wrote the film's script.

The 39-year-old actor, who took on the role of rugby player Francois Pienaar in Invictus, has admitted that "the accent took about six months".

According to Showbiz Spy, the star said: "It took a lot to get it. They talk real different down there."

Speaking about his role, Damon continued: "It’s a big responsibility. It didn’t help that I liked Francois so much. I really wanted him to like the film.

"It’s such an incredible moment in South Africa’s history. I think everybody felt it who worked on the movie. It was different to other movies."

Rourke: 'Megan Fox is the best actress'

Mickey Rourke has claimed that Megan Fox is the "best young actress" he has ever worked with.

The 57-year-old, who stars alongside Fox in the drama-thriller Passion Play, has insisted that the Transformers actress has accomplished a great deal at her young age, according to Perez Hilton.

The Oscar-nominated actor said: "I don’t know if a lot of her films have showcased her acting ability more than, say, being action-oriented, but she really stepped up the plate with this one and was very consistent and professional, beyond her years. At 23, I couldn’t do half of what she’s doing."

Rourke, Fox and Bill Murray co-star in Passion Play, which is currently filming in New Mexico.

Seyfried 'considered sabotaging Cyrus film'

Amanda Seyfried has revealed that she considered "sabotaging" Miley Cyrus's new movie.

The actress, who stars alongside Channing Tatum in Dear John, has admitted that she thought about plotting against Cyrus if their films had similar release dates.

The 24-year-old told MTV: "If [Cyrus's film] The Last Song was coming out the same weekend as Dear John, Channing and I would have to collaborate on some sort of sabotage mission."

Tatum said that he thought the two movies were not in direct competition as so many of Nicholas Sparks's books have been made into films.

He continued: "No, not any more competition than all the rest of his movies coming out. I think all his films are very, very separate from one another with one theme: love. We're not competing for the same weekend."

Tatum also admitted that he hoped fans will enjoy the film as they did with Sparks's 2004 screen adaptation of The Notebook.

He added: "Look, he's got, like, a magic wand when it comes to heartstrings. I think he's a hopeless romantic himself and he just really loves writing about it in really sexy places and really sexy ways.

"Not to be cheesy or melodramatic - everyone wants to feel loved and that their love is special, and when they read about these once-in-a-lifetime sort of relationships and loves, it's a great place to go away and escape."

Thomas: 'Courage is needed for sex scenes'

Kristin Scott Thomas has claimed that the key to a good sex scene is "courage and choreography".

The actress, who had to film erotic scenes for her new French movie Partir, has insisted that the best way for her to approach a sex scene is to confront it like an action scene.

The 49-year-old told Spiegel Online: "You need courage for it. But in the end professionalism is all that counts, no matter if it's a sex scene or a fight scene. It's all about choreography. The director and the cameras dictate what and how you have to act. Just like they instruct you how to make a blow look like it hurts during a fight scene."

Despite feeling comfortable shooting sexual sequences, she admitted that taking off her clothes for the camera in front of a mostly male cast and crew can be intimidating.

Thomas added: "The only difference is, that you're acting without your clothes on. That can be quite humiliating when everyone else on set is dressed. It was different when we shot Partir though, because there was only one man among the three people who were present.

"Even if I disappoint people's fantasies, that's exactly how it is."

"I was in my flat in London, wrestling with a busted shower, and I heard a news report that I was going to be 007. I thought: ‘If only it were true, but I have to fix this shower'."

Murray confirms 'Ghostbusters 3' plotline

Bill Murray has confirmed that he will appear as a ghost in the forthcoming Ghostbusters sequel.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the comic actor revealed that killing off his character Peter Venkman was his own suggestion.

"I'll come back in Ghostbusters 3 only if I get to be a ghost," Murray commented. "I said to them, 'I'll do it if you kill me off in the first reel'. So now they are going to have me as a ghost in the film."

Discussing his thoughts on the big budget comedy franchise, Murray said that he disliked the second Ghostbusters because it was too driven by spectacle.

"The first 45 minutes of the original Ghostbusters is some of the funniest stuff ever made," he remarked. "The second one was disappointing, because the special effects guys took over. I had something like two scenes - and they're the only funny ones in the movie."

Jeff Bridges: 'Iron Man had no script'

Jeff Bridges has claimed that Iron Man had little in the way of a script when he joined the project.

The comic book adaptation went through a number of extensive redrafts before shooting, with much of the movie reportedly written or improvised during filming.

Bridges, who played Obadiah Stan in the 2008 picture, told The Times: "The crew would be in the studio, tapping their feet for us to get out of the trailer. We were in there for two or three hours, writing the scene for the day, man.

"I mean, come on. You'd think for a $200m movie, they'd have their s**t together. If I don't have any lines, then who am I? It was very, very frustrating."

He added: "Then I made this little inner adjustment that said, 'Hey, man. You're making a $200m student film. Just relax. We're fine. We're playing. We're messing around'.

"Nothing changed. But all of a sudden, I started laughing and going, 'Okay, I play your part, you play my part'. The crew would knock on the door - 'Are you ready?'. 'We'll be out in a little bit'.

"It turned out great. That's just it. You have to dance the dance that's in play."

Lead actor Robert Downey Jr. has reportedly worked on the script to follow-up Iron Man 2.

Pattinson, Thurman sex scenes 'disturbing'

Robert Pattinson has reportedly described his sex scenes with Uma Thurman in Bel Ami as "kind of disturbing".

The 23-year-old actor stars as a corrupt journalist who becomes romantically involved with Thurman's wealthy woman in the upcoming period drama, based on a 1885 novel.

Speaking to the Daily Record, he said: "The sex scenes with Uma are kind of disturbing. Her character kind of uses sex as a sort of weapon and my character thinks like an animal.

"There's a lot of sex scenes in this film, so I'm asking quite a lot of myself, and with lots of different people as well."

Bel Ami, which also stars Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas, is scheduled for release next year.

Quentin Tarantino: 'I am here to stay'

Quentin Tarantino has said that his ongoing success in the movie industry has proved his ability.

The director's Inglourious Basterds received eight Oscar nominations, including the 'Best Picture', 'Best Screenplay' and 'Best Director' prizes.

The nods are the first for any of his films since Robert Forster's unsuccessful nomination for 'Best Supporting Actor' for 1997's Jackie Brown.

Tarantino said: "I am simply very proud that Inglourious Basterds has been so well received.

"It's like this. I was always talked about for my first two films like I was some sort of flash in the pan. But then I went from flavour of the month, to flavour of the year, to flavour of the decade.

"Now, at the end of two decades in the business, well maybe I'm not the flavour of anything. I am here to stay."

However, Tarantino reiterated his plans to retire at 60 and become a "film critic and just become a man of letters".

He added: "I don't want to make old geriatric colostomy bag movies. I want to make hard-d**k movies and I want them all to come from the same place as Reservoir Dogs; from the same artist, from the same man."

Coogan: 'Still doubts over Partridge film'

Steve Coogan has admitted that he is still unsure whether a movie featuring the return of his classic TV character Alan Partridge will go ahead.

Coogan, who starred as Partridge on spoof comedy The Day Today and mockumentary I'm Alan Partridge, revealed last year that a Partridge movie is in the pipeline.

"This is kind of make or break," the 44-year-old actor and comedian has now told the BBC.

Coogan, who appears in next week's high-budget fantasy film Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, added that the movie will not happen without writers Armando Iannucci and Peter Baynham.

"You have to get all the right elements. We're not going to do it unless we think we can do something really good."

Iannuci, who has co-written all of Partridge's TV credits, responded to the statement on Twitter.

"Thought I might add fuel to rumour fires by saying [I have spent the] last few days plotting a Partridge story," he wrote.

Pattinson plays down 'Spider-Man' rumours

Robert Pattinson has played down speculation that he could take over the role of Spider-Man in Sony's upcoming reboot of the franchise.

The Twilight star was linked to the comic book saga after the studio announced that original star Tobey Maguire would not be returning for a fourth outing.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Pattinson said: "I don't think I'm going to be playing Spider-Man, even though I would quite like to do it."

Sony previously insisted that casting for the project had not started and that its first priority was finding a director to replace original helmer Sam Raimi.

Other stars who have been linked to the role include Zac Efron and Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief star Logan Lerman.

'Saw' franchise to end with 'Saw VII'?

The upcoming Saw VII could be the final instalment in the horror film franchise, according to screenwriter Patrick Melton.

Melton, who co-wrote the last three Saw movies plus Saw VI, revealed that the series will probably end with the seventh film.

"I think it's going to end with Saw VII. I have a very strong feeling it's going to end with Saw VII," he told Latino Review.

Melton confirmed that the original plan was to make at least eight Saw movies, but producers have decided to conclude the series earlier than anticipated due to the poor box office showing for last year's Saw VI.

Saw VII, the franchise's first 3D picture, is to bow in cinemas on October 22, 2010.
