Oldman: 'I enjoyed filming Book Of Eli'

Gary Oldman has said that he enjoyed filming his latest movie The Book Of Eli.

The actor has revealed that the post-apocalyptic film has become a personal career favourite.

The 51-year-old told Popstar: "I have worked on a lot of films with a lot of people, and this was one of the most enjoyable gigs I've had. I loved working with the people. I liked New Mexico very much.

"I thought it was a great location, and I'd never really spent any amount of time in that neighbourhood. I thought the landscape was great to look at and for the shoot, and it was a friendly place."

As for his character being viewed as brutal, Oldman insisted: "Given the situation, given the time and where they are and what has happened, I see him as really just a survivor. He's got great character and ingenuity.

"It's a whole different way that they're living. We sit here now, in 2010, and look at this 30, 40 years on and think, 'Well, that's barbaric'. But, really, in the film's reality it's the survival of the fittest."

Johansson talks 'Iron Man 2'

Scarlett Johansson has revealed the best part about playing Black Widow in Iron Man 2 was getting to "kick lots of ass".

Johansson is to star alongside Robert Downey Jr and Mickey Rourke in Jon Favreau's sequel to 2008's hit comic book adaptation.

When asked what she enjoyed most about playing a Soviet spy, the Lost in Translation star told SFX: "Kicking lots of ass. I wanted to give it everything I had.

"I hate to see a movie where you don't buy that a character is gonna beat the living s**t out of you. [Laughs] Believing that about yourself is almost as much work as looking like you could beat the s**t out of somebody."

Iron Man 2, from Marvel Studios, is due to arrive in cinemas and IMAX on May 7.

Ethan Hawke: 'Vampires are weirdly sexual'

Ethan Hawke has revealed that he finds vampires "weirdly sexual".

The Daybreakers star has admitted that he understands the allure and the appeal of vampires since watching the 1979 film Nosferatu at an early age, Contactmusic reports.

The 39-year-old said: "I know why I like vampires; it's the same reason 11-year-olds like vampires.

"I remember I spent the night over at a friend's house when I was about 11-years-old and Nosferatu came on, with Isabelle Adjani. She was so beautiful.

"Other vampire movies have captured that completely too, like Twilight and Interview With The Vampire tried to. It's this sensuality and something weirdly sexual about vampires."

Hawke also admitted that he realised a long-held dream in his latest film by not only playing a vampire but also getting to wear fangs.

He added: "The worst thing was that I loved my fangs because they were fitted on to my teeth, and they were really cool to put them on for parties."

Damon: 'I had dinner with Freeman as a gift'

Matt Damon has revealed that he had dinner with Morgan Freeman as a gift.

The Invictus star, who co-stars with the Oscar-winning actor in his latest film, has said that he was overjoyed when he received the meal as a Christmas present by his assistant, STV reports.

The 39-year-old said: "Ten years ago, my assistant gave me a gift for Christmas - dinner with Morgan Freeman. I used to talk about him so much that she called his assistant and they organised a sit-down.

"It was kinda like a Make-A-Wish foundation thing. And we spent a few hours together - he even tolerated all my questions... about everything. Ten years later, not only do I get a chance to sit across the table from him again but I get to work with him again - in a Nelson Mandela movie. I couldn't pass that up."

Damon also insisted that he and Freeman got along so well that they have already begun searching for another project on which to work together.

The actor added: "I see us all in a convertible going down to a burger place! Nah, I hope to work with those guys as much as possible - I'm actually going to work with Clint Eastwood again next month, and I'd love to work with Morgan again; we're actually looking for something to do together.

"It's funny I've had a lot of positive experiences on films, and walk away from films having made many friends. But the truth is, I have not really been out of my house - I have three little kids - so that pretty much takes up all my time. I wish I could see my friends more."

Kunis: 'Denzel Washington is intimidating'

Mila Kunis has opened up about her experience working with Denzel Washington.

The actress, who co-starred alongside the two-time Oscar winner in The Book Of Eli, has insisted that despite being an "intimidating" man, Washington is "very professional and giving".

Speaking to Teen Hollywood, the 26-year-old said: "He's an intimidating man. He just is. There's a presence about him. When he walks into a room, you're gonna pay attention. But he was great. I think he tested me on how much I could take. But he's very generous, very professional, very giving.

"Denzel is very fatherly. He's got so many kids. He is a father so he always looked out for me but it wasn't one of those things where he was like, 'Hey, child'. I'm not that young. But he was very protective absolutely."

The Book Of Eli is currently playing in US and UK cinemas.
