  • Parenthood: Lorelai Gilmore is back, baby! Reps confirm that Lauren Graham is officially joining NBC's midseason drama Parenthood in the Sarah Braverman role. The character was originally played by Maura Tierney, who left the series to focus on her breast-cancer treatments.

  • The Vampire Diaries: What About Brian star Matthew Davis just signed on to The Vampire Diaries to play fan-fave character Alaric Saltzman.

  • 24: Apparently 24 star Cherry Jones and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip star Sarah Paulson, aka one of the most adorable low-profile actor couples out there, have broken up. Sadness.

'FlashForward' gets full season order



ABC has ordered a full season of new drama FlashForward, it has been announced.

The back nine pickup includes the episode that marks the six-month point foretold by the titular event.

FlashForward, which stars Joseph Fiennes, Dominic Monaghan and Sonya Walger, has helped the network to the number one spot in the 18-49 demo in its Thursday night slot.

ABC has also given full season orders to three freshman comedies: Courteney Cox's Cougar Town, faux documentary Modern Family and Patricia Heaton's The Middle.

ABC orders new crime drama 'The Gates'

ABC has handed a series order to crime drama The Gates, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The show, set in a gated suburban community, has reportedly been given a 13-episode order by the alphabet network.

Gates, which is written by Richard Hatem and Grant Scharbo, focuses on a city cop who is promoted to chief of police in a small town community. He later discovers that the residents may be harbouring dark secrets.

Production on the show is slated to begin early next year, with South America being considered as a location.

"V" Reception

E! Online rated the pilot episode "on a scale of 1 to 10, we give it an 11. V is the best pilot we've seen in, well, forever."  The website Seat42F rated the pilot episode an A+, applauding its cast and effects and naming it one of the best pilots in years. USA Today's Robert Bianco put V on his list of the top ten new shows, stating that the remake is well-made and "quickly establishes its own identity." King Features' entertainment reporter Cindy Elavsky calls V: "the best new show on television, by far. The special effects are feature-film quality; the writing is intelligent and time-relevant; and the acting is first-rate. The first five minutes alone will hook you for the entire season."

Yay, we get it (in Ireland) 2 days after the states!
