Hi, I've always paid for my points via paypal, but it seems to have been removed as an option. I feel uneasy about paying via my debit card, please can someone help!

You can still purchase points from Paypal. Please see here for the new way to purchase points via Paypal. You will get bonus points for the inconvenience of having to wait for the points to be manually added to your account, but you can (hopefully) feel more comfortable dealing with Paypal, as it's safe way to transfer funds.
