site very slow tonight

We are trying to watch a film and it is stopping every few seconds so unwatchable.  We have a very good broadband speed so can only think it is this site.  Performance has been getting worse for months - wish the site reverted back to the old design which was much more reliable.  Is there a problem tonight?
