Blue Mountain State' renewed by Spike

Spike TV has renewed its sports comedy series Blue Mountain State for a third season.

According to Deadline, the network has ordered a new run of 13 episodes which will air later this year.

The series saw positive gains across all male demographics during its recently concluded second season, leading to Spike's decision to renew the original scripted comedy.

The show's second season saw Page Kennedy and Mary Jo Cacciatore join the series as regulars following the departure of previous stars Sam Jones III and Gabrielle Dennis.

The second outing of Blue Mountain State also saw the arrival of former Bond girl Denise Richards as a supporting character. It has been confirmed that the actress will reprise her role as Debra for the upcoming third season.

Blue Mountain State stars Darin Brooks, Chris Romano and Alan Ritchson as three freshmen who join a fictional college football team.

TV CASTINGS: Ed Asner To USA’s ‘Royal Pains’, Meagan Good To 'Californication

Last season, USA Network’s flagship series Royal Pains introduced Hank Lawson (Mark Feuerstein) and Evan R. Lawson’s (Paulo Costanzo) dad Eddie Lawson, played by Henry Winkler. Now the upcoming third season will go down another generation, with veteran Ed Asner tapped for a 2-episode arc as Ted Roth, Hank and Evan’s grandfather and Eddie’s dad. Asner, repped by Greene & Assoc. & manager Perry Zimel, recently starred on CMT's first sitcom Working Class. He is now touring the country with his one-man show FDR and will next be seen in the HBO movie Too Big to Fail.

Meagan Good has joined Showtime's dark comedy Californication for a major recurring role. Good, who will appear in 9 of the 12 episodes of Californication's upcoming fifth season, will play Kali, an extremely hot up-and-coming hip-hop artist. Good, who recently did an arc on BET's The Game, has 3 movies coming out in the next month: Jumping the Broom, Video Girl, which she also produced, and Ticking. She is with Gersh and Untitled

I feel sorry for Hawaii Five-O because since Two & A Half Men stopped its rating have been going downhill, I swear Hawaii Five-O needs to be on Tueday at 10 next season after both NCIS & NCIS Los Angeles

The Babes of the New Charlie's Angels

When it comes to reboots of classic franchises, I don't like them. Give me originality over repackaging any day!
But if remakes must be made, networks should at least choose classicshows that involve hot chicks. Enter ABC's reimagining of the classic'70s program Charlie's Angels. Along with NBC's Wonder Woman, Charlie's Angels is one of the most high-profile pilots being created for the upcoming fall season. And just like we did with Wonder Woman, it's time to pass judgment on the show based on one promotional picture.

Source

Above, you see (from left to right) former General Hospital star Annie Ilonzeh as Kate, Aussie actress Rachael Taylor as Marisa, and Friday Night Lights' Minka Kelly as Abby. I see what looks like a women's shampoo commercial.
Charlie's Angels is pretty much a lock to make it on ABC's schedule this fall. And with former Smallville showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar taking control of the show, it may also be good!

Fox Cancels Comedies 'Breaking In' & 'Traffic Light' And Dramas 'Lie To Me', 'Human Target' & 'Chicago Code

Fringe got lucky to score an early renewal because no other bubble show got a reprieve at Fox. The network tonight axed all others: the Tim Roth-starring procedural Lie To Me, sophomore drama Human Target and freshmen The Chicago Code, Traffic Light and Breaking In. While Human Target and Lie To Me had been long shots after soft second- and third-season runs and Chicago Code and Traffic Light's fate had been sealed for awhile, especially with Chicago Code creator Shawn Ryan moving from 20th TV to Sony, the yanking of Breaking In was very surprising as the comedy launched strong behind American Idol, posting Fox's highest ratings for live-action comedy series in 3 years. It has since slipped but was considered a solid contender for renewal as it had shown promise and had done much better than two other freshman live-action Fox comedies, Traffic Light and Running Wilde. Breaking In beat the odds once, when Fox passed on the pilot last season, before getting resurrected with a midseason order. But its luck ran out. And so the Christian Slater curse continues..
