Outland Premieres on ABC1 on February 08, 2012

Outland is a six-part comedy series about a gay science fiction fan club and the lives, loves and never-ending dramas of its five members. There’s Max (Toby Truslove), insecure and looking for love; the sexually-adventurous, muffin-baking Andy (Paul Ireland); Rae (Christine Anu), the moral centre and unofficial head of the group; the high-camp, high-maintenance Fab (Adam Richard); and the wealthy but socially-inept Toby (Ben Gerrard). It’s an odd, and often precarious combination of personalities. Every week they meet in each other’s homes, but as the meetings become more untenable, a decision has to be made – are they willing to commit to the idea of the group or is it time they went their separate ways? Are the slender things that bind them enough? Can science fiction save them all? Outland is a series about belonging, no matter who you are, and how everyone searches to find a place to fit in.

Max hiding all his Daleks and other sci-fi paraphernalia from Dylan was silly but his house being invaded by his nerd friends and exposing his secret shame of his membership of a science fiction fan club was corny

Rae attempting to hide the huge nude photo of her as the others arrive at the flat was amusing and what a way to describe her as the trifecta because she's gay, crippled and black

Andy wrapped in leather and suspended from the ceiling was amusing but Toby arriving with a date, Nathan who is a compulsive two-timer so Max feels compelled to tell Toby the truth about Nathan which was sad for him

The group arriving at what they thought was Fab’s house was creepy but phone calls getting cut of just before he told them anything was over the top

Max and Fab catching Toby performs a musical number complete with cabaret lighting and back-up dancers in his new place was strange but trust him to lie about the apartment not being his, Poor Rae arriving in a gorgeous evening gown because nobody had told her that they were no longer heading to the premiere of Lord of the Rings: the Musical

Trust all the guys to be dressed exactly the same, as Lulara, in her lurid purple dress for the Pride March but eventually finding Rae at the march also dressed the same was amusing
