Stewart: 'Twilight marketing is weird'

Kristen Stewart has said that she finds it unusual to see her likeness on merchandise and tie-ins for the Twilight movie series.

The actress also told The Times that she is not often approached by fans on the street because she is rarely recognised.

Stewart said: "I think I just look different in person or something. I'm also not very approachable, and maybe they're just thinking, 'Ooohhh, she's scary'.

"It is weird seeing all the marketing, though, and the billboards. I like burgers, but do I want to see my face all over the burger cartons? Not really."

Regarding her own Twilight action figure, she added: "I think she has a much bigger rack than I have. I also think she looks much older than me.

"I guess I can live with that. In fact, I'm getting used to the bigger rack."

Stallone discusses 'Rambo 5' plot

Sylvester Stallone has revealed that Rambo 5 will feature the lead character fighting a "feral beast".

It was previously reported that the NuImage/Millenium Films project would centre on the Vietnam veteran dealing with drug lords and human traffickers in order to rescue a young girl kidnapped near the US-Mexico border.

However, Stallone clarified the plot rumours in an interview with Ain't It Cool. He claimed that the story will be based in the Pacific Northwest, where experiments are taking place on elite soldiers. When the military's plans go wrong, John Rambo is forced to come in and save the day.

Speaking about the villain of the movie, Stallone added: "It's not a super-soldier, it's a feral beast; a thing. It’s this amalgamation of fury and intelligence and pure unadulterated rage, from before men became human - it’s inhuman!

"It's man's 'conscious' fighting his dark, uncontrollable unconscious. It has absolute cunning and intelligence and a will to survive that is only matched by Rambo's."

Shooting starts in the spring.

Pixar eyeing 'Ant-Man' movie?

Pixar has expressed interest in the proposed film based on Marvel Comics' Ant-Man, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Edgar Wright has been developing a script for the film and is also attached to direct. It is thought that Pixar's involvement in the project will result in a CG take on the character.

The Hot Fuzz helmer, who is currently adapting Bryan Lee O'Malley comic book series Scott Pilgrim for the big screen, assured fans that Ant-Man is next on his agenda.

"Ant-Man is something that I need to return to," he said. "I wrote a draught before Scott Pilgrim started and it's kind [of] on [the] back burner slightly just because I've been busy with this. But it's something that I have got to return to. I have to do another draught after Scott Pilgrim is done."

The original Ant-Man, Henry Pym, was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1962, first appearing in Tales To Astonish #35. Fictional characters Scott Lang and Eric O'Grady have since used the alias.

Pixar's involvement in the Ant-Man film is yet to be officially confirmed.

Quinton Jackson 'confirmed for A-Team'

UFC star Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson will play Sgt Bosco 'BA' Baracus in the movie adaptation of '80s TV series The A-Team.

According to The Vancouver Sun, Jackson has withdrawn from his Ultimate Fighting Championship commitments so that he can appear in the movie. He was reportedly spotted near the film's Vancouver set last Friday.

Jackson was linked to the role last month, but his representative swiftly denied rumours that he would take on the role made famous by Mr T.

The A-Team will star Liam Neeson as Col John 'Hannibal' Smith and The Hangover's Bradley Cooper as Lt Templeton 'Faceman' Peck.

Cage signs for 'Hungry Rabbit Jumps'

Nicolas Cage will play a vigilante in thriller The Hungry Rabbit Jumps, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Roger Donaldson (Thirteen Days) is directing the project from a script by Robert Tannen. It centres on a man who joins an underground organisation to seek revenge on the men who brutally attacked his wife.

Tobey Maguire will serve as a producer through his Maguire Entertainment firm, while Jim Stern is producing for financier Endgame.

"In the best of the Hitchcockian tradition, we've got a character who's offered the chance for vengeance and he finds himself in over his head," said Stern.

Cage recently signed up to star in 3D action film Drive Angry and is in talks to play the villain in The Green Hornet.

Cattrall reveals 'Sex And The City' spoiler?

Kim Cattrall has reportedly revealed minor details from the upcoming Sex And The City movie after she inadvertently flashed a script page at photographers.

The actress, who plays Samantha Jones in the series, was snapped on the set of the film in New York clutching a page of dialogue for one of her scenes.

According to reports, the script revealed that Samantha's ex-boyfriend Smith Jerrod (Jason Lewis) could be making an appearance, at least on the telephone.

One page of the document, enlarged by several websites, features a character called Meghan who informs Samantha that her former love is "on the phone".

The scene is also believed to feature a sequence where Samantha smashes a bottle of hormone pills and instructs Meghan to do a "testosterone run" and replace them.

Production on the highly-anticipated movie began in New York last week, with Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie Bradshaw), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbs) and Chris Noth (Mr Big) also spotted filming.

Lussier tapped for 'Halloween 3D'

Patrick Lussier is in discussions to make Halloween 3D for Dimension Films.

According to Variety, the horror veteran may write and direct the latest instalment in the long-running franchise, replacing Rom Zombie, the helmer of 2007's remake and this year's sequel.

Lussier has a long history in the horror genre, serving as editor on Wes Craven's Scream series and most recently directing My Bloody Valentine 3D.

Halloween 3D is being targeted for a summer 2010 release.

Stone confirms Sheen for 'Wall Street 2'

Oliver Stone has confirmed that Charlie Sheen is to appear in the Wall Street sequel.

The Two And A Half Men star will reprise his Bud Fox role in a cameo capacity, the director told The New York Times.

In the original film, the 44-year-old played a young stockbroker who ultimately brings down Michael Douglas's Gordon Gekko but must atone for his own shady dealings with the financier.

Stone also confirmed reports that the story will begin 22 years after the first ended.

"When Gekko comes out of prison in the beginning of this movie, he essentially has to redefine himself, redefine his character," he said. "He's looking for that second chance."

Money Never Sleeps will also feature Shia LaBeouf, Josh Brolin and Frank Langella.

The follow-up will begin filming this week in New York City and is released in April 2010.

It was previously reported that Susan Sarandon has joined the cast as LaBeouf's mother.

Evigan "shocked" by 'Sorority Row' humour

Briana Evigan has admitted that she was "shocked" when she saw her upcoming movie Sorority Row as it was funnier than she had imagined.

The actress, who stars alongside Rumer Willis in the slasher, told reporters at the movie's UK press conference that she was surprised by the mix of horror and humour.

"We were pretty shocked when we saw the film, because the trailer came out like, 'This is a scary movie!'" she explained.

"Reading the script, there is stuff like the funny lines, but when we saw it, it was actually hilarious so every time you get scared you get to laugh, too."

Willis added that she was a "little jealous" of the stunts performed by Evigan in the movie, joking: "I'm [hiding] in the closet the whole time and there's not a whole lot of action going on!"

Sorority Row arrives in cinemas on September 9.

Nimoy 'won't return for Trek sequel'

Leonard Nimoy has admitted that he is unlikely to return for the proposed Star Trek sequel.

The 78-year-old came out of retirement for director JJ Abrams to reprise his role as Spock in the sci-fi franchise revival. However, appearing at this year's DragonCon, the actor said that Zachary Quinto would continue in the role as a younger Spock.

"There are no plans for me to return for the second movie," GeeksOfDoom quotes him as saying.

Speaking with William Shatner at the event, Nimoy added: "I think the Spock character is very well-established as portrayed by Zachary Quinto. And I think if you saw the movie, Bill, you'd say the same of Chris Pine."

Shatner, who wasn't asked to cameo as James Kirk, replied: "Bulls**t. I ain't seen the movie ya'll."

Halle Berry circles thriller 'Dark Tide'

Halle Berry is in talks to appear in action-thriller Dark Tide, according to Variety.

S.W.A.T. director Clark Johnson will helm the project, which is being produced by Twilight's Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey.

Written by Amy Sorlie, the movie will follow a diving instructor's return to the sea after a near-death experience with a Great White shark.

Shooting will begin in South Africa later this year.

Earlier this month, American magazines reported that Berry is expecting her second child with boyfriend Gabriel Aubrey.

Ne-Yo joins 'Battle: Los Angeles' cast

R&B singer Ne-Yo has joined the cast of sci-fi war movie Battle: Los Angeles, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ne-Yo's previous big screen credits include Save The Last Dance 2 and Stomp The Yard. He is also signed up to appear in Disney's The Princess And The Frog.

Ramon Rodriguez, Taylor Handley and Hardict have also been added to the Jonathan Lievesman-directed film's cast.

Battle will follow a marine who leads his platoon into battle against invading aliens on the streets of LA. Ne-Yo will play a corporal in the platoon.

Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Bridget Monynahan and Michael Pena were previously confirmed to star in the movie.

Shooting begins next week in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Willis: 'Sorority Row is intelligent'

Rumer Willis has claimed that she wanted to work on Sorority Row because it is an "intelligent" horror film.

Bang Showbiz reports that the actress was also impressed by the movie's humour.

"When I read it, it was a really smart and intelligent horror movie," she explained. "And it was more about the characters, rather than the plot driving it. And just people happening to be there.

"I really liked the fact that it was kind of female-driven. And the writing was so funny. You can definitely tell the comedy when you're reading it. But I honestly had no idea it was going to be as funny as it is until I saw it."

However, Willis admitted that some parts of filming had been "emotionally and physically draining".

"All of the girls, we were really kind of just bringing our A-game," she continued. "So I think that really helps, when you have everyone who's kind of ready to work as hard as they can.

"But yeah, of course, it's definitely draining."

Cage 'turns down Green Hornet role'

Nicolas Cage has reportedly turned down a role in The Green Hornet.

The Ghost Rider actor has been in discussions to play the villain alongside Seth Rogen's masked crime fighter since July.

Filming began on the superhero project last week, but Cage was said to still be in negotiations for his role.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 45-year-old was not able to reach a deal with Columbia Pictures and the studio is now thought to be looking for a new actor to play the villain in the Michael Gondry-directed film.

Earlier this week, Cage signed on to play a vigilante in thriller The Hungry Rabbit Jumps.

The Green Hornet will be released in cinemas on December 17, 2010.

Pattinson, Stewart told to hide romance?

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have been told to keep their romance a secret, according to OK.

The stars' relationship could reportedly jeopardise New Moon, in which Stewart's character falls for a werewolf.

The film's producers are allegedly worried that the romance will not be plausible if Stewart is linked to Pattinson.

A source said: "The producers took Rob and Kris aside and told them to keep their relationship under wraps for a few more months. But they're so much in love, they can't keep their hands off each other."

An Eclipse insider added: "They're crazy about each other and want to shout it from the rooftops. But they're also part of this massive machine called Twilight and producers have this thing timed with scientific precision.

"They don't want Rob and Kristen to tell the world about their relationship until the time is right."

However, one source said that Pattinson is prepared to jeopardise his career for Stewart.

"He generally does what he's told by producers," they explained. "But this kid has a strong will of his own, and if he wants to walk around Vancouver with Kirsten in front of the world, he's going to."

In April, Pattinson described rumours that he is dating Stewart as "bizarre".

McGowan 'injured on Red Sonja set'

Rose McGowan has reportedly been injured on the set of forthcoming action film Red Sonja.

The 36-year-old was announced as taking on the part of the comic book heroine last year.

The Death Proof star apparently suffered serious damage while performing a stunt for the update, which required her to undergo surgery.

She told Fox News: "I had wrist and elbow surgery and they took part of my elbow out.

"I had really bad nerve damage from doing stunts - I do a lot of my own stunts. I could no longer use my arm, but now I can hold a fork and drive so we're working our way up."

She added: "It'll probably be another six months of rehab, but it's the price you pay for being really limber and being able to do back flips."

McGowan's fiancé director Robert Rodriguez had planned a remake of 1968 movie Barbarella to star the actress.

However, the filmmaker recently revealed that his reboot has been scrapped.

Mandy Moore to voice 'Rapunzel' musical

Mandy Moore has signed up to provide the voice of Rapunzel in a new Disney 3D animation, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Chuck star Zachary Levi has also been cast as the "dashing bandit", who goes on the road with the rebellious teenage lead.

Bryon Howard (Bolt) and Nathan Greno are directing, while Oscar-winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin) is composing the score.

Inspired by the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, the movie will follow the story of the princess with 70 feet of golden hair as she goes on the run from captors who stole her from her parents' castle as an infant.

Rapunzel is scheduled for release in 2010.

Timothy Dalton cast in 'Toy Story 3'

Former James Bond actor Timothy Dalton has joined the cast of Disney/Pixar's Toy Story 3.

Disney president John Lasseter made the announcement at a Disney Animation Showcase in London today, reports Empire.

Dalton's character will be Mr Pricklepants, who is described as a "hedgehog toy with thespian tendencies".

Last month, it was revealed that Michael Keaton would be voicing Barbie's boyfriend Ken in the third adventure from the children's animated franchise.

Lasseter first revealed Disney's Toy Story 3 plans in January 2008, claiming that people would be "blown away" by the project. "[It] is shaping up to be another great adventure for Buzz, Woody and the gang from Andy's room," he said.

Toy Story 3 is scheduled for release in June 2010.

Max Ryan joins 'Sex And The City' cast

English actor Max Ryan has been tapped as a potential love interest for Kim Cattrall in the new Sex And The City movie, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The Death Race star has reportedly been cast as a European architect named Rikard who wil cross paths with Samantha Jones (Cattrall).

His previous credits include the horror film Three, The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen and the Polish movie Skorumpowani.

Production on Sex And The City 2 began earlier this month in New York.
