Jaimie Alexander teases Sif return for 'Thor 2'

Jaimie Alexander is in discussions to reprise the role of Sif in Thor 2.

The actress played a supporting role as the warrior goddess in the first film alongside Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston.

Alexander said that while she was not officially signed on to the sequel, she has had "a few discussions" about reprising her role.

"I'm a comic book nerd at heart, so I'd like to see the relationship between Thor and Sif progress," she told MTV News.

"Whether or not they do that, we're not sure yet. We'll see. I think that element will be in there, but I don't know how much."

Alexander also hinted at a possible appearance in Joss Whedon's Avengers movie.

"I can't tell you," she said when asked if she would feature in the ensemble film.

"Sometimes you never know. It'll be funny - they'll call you and they'll do a post-credits scene and you go, 'Oh, so everything I said in interviews is completely wrong'. So you never know!"

Thor 2 is currently being rewritten by Saving Private Ryan screenwriter Robert Rodat.

Liam Neeson: 'A-Team sequel is doubtful'

Liam Neeson has expressed doubt about a possible A-Team sequel.

The Taken actor starred in the 2010 movie revival of the '80s TV series, which also featured Bradley Cooper, Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson and Sharlto Copley as the titular group of mercenaries.

Neeson revealed that a follow-up to the film is unlikely given that the movie earned just $177 million (£115m) at the box office.

"I don't think it made enough money," he told the Daily Express. "The studio don't want it."

Neeson recently backed the appointment of Ricky Gervais as host of the Golden Globes, saying that Gervais will shake up Hollywood's elite.

The actor can next be seen in the survival film The Grey, which will be released in the UK and US on January 27

"I gotta get down with it," he joked, before adding in seriousness: "We're at the ground level, but yeah I think there's going to be another one."

Fassbender previously said that he is "giddy" at the prospect of an X-Men: First Class sequel, suggesting that he would like the film to focus on the story of how James McAvoy's Professor Charles Xavier becomes Professor X.

A sequel to the film is currently being penned by Simon Kinberg, who wrote X-Men: The Last Stand.

Chronicle' helmer Josh Trank to direct 'Fantastic Four' reboot?

Josh Trank has reportedly emerged as the frontrunner to direct Fox's Fantastic Four reboot.

The Chronicle helmer is in negotiations with the studio about bringing the Marvel Comics property back to the big screen, according to Variety.

Fox has previously released two Fantastic Four movies, directed by Tim Story. Chris Evans, Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd and Michael Chiklis starred in the lead roles.

The studio will only maintain the film rights to the franchise if it continues making movies based on it, so the reboot has been under negotiation for some time. Bruce Willis was thought to be in contention to play the Thing at one point.

Chronicle is a found-footage movie based on a script by Max Landis, in which three teens gain powers from a mysterious substance.

The film will be released on February 3 in the US and March 2 in the UK.

Judge Dredd': Karl Urban will not remove his helmet

Karl Urban will not remove his helmet in the Judge Dredd movie, the character's creator has revealed.

John Wagner has revealed some more facts about Lionsgate's adaptation of the 2000 AD strip, and the reasons that he thinks the 1995 Sylvester Stallone version failed.

"Dredd homes in on the essential job of judging," Wagner told the Los Angeles Times.

"Instant justice in a violent future city... The plot is about Dredd and his world. It's impossible to cover every aspect of the character and his city. Perhaps that was one of the failings of the first film. They tried to do too much and ended up with not a lot."

He said that he had not watched the former adaptation since its release.

"They told the wrong story," Wagner continued. "It didn't have that much to do with Dredd the character as we know him. I don't think Stallone was a bad Dredd, though it would have been better and lent him more cred if he hadn't revealed his face. He was just Dredd in the wrong story. I envy their budget, though. Some of the CGI was very good."

Wagner also praised the stars of the new film, saying: "Olivia Thirlby is perfect as Anderson, the young Psi-Judge. She gives the character a touching vulnerability. Karl Urban will not remove his helmet and will not kiss his co-star."

Sometime Judge Dredd artist Jock has previously said that the film "looks great".

Dredd's face has famously never been shown in the comic.

"I love those psychological thrillers," he added. "I'm going to be the young Danny Glover."

The actor went on to say that he would like Chris Evans to take the role of Riggs (originally played by Mel Gibson) in his proposed Lethal Weapon reboot.

"When I think of a young hothead who's full of hot air I think of Chris Evans," Mackie said. "Isn't he a guy you just want to smack around?"

In addition to Man on a Ledge, Mackie will also star in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter opposite Benjamin Walker.

The Saint is due to return to the big screen.

RKO Pictures has commissioned Eagle Eye writer Travis Wright to produce a new script based on the long-running franchise, reports Variety.

Guy Ritchie 'signs for Sherlock Holmes 3, wants to film in Hollywood

Guy Ritchie has reportedly signed on to direct a third Sherlock Holmes movie.

The 43-year-old is believed to be continuing his work on the detective franchise, which stars Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law, apparently opting to base the next instalment in Hollywood.

Industry insiders say that the move will be well received by Downey Jr, who is based in the US and will become a father for the second time in 2012 following the arrival of his first child with wife Susan.

"Guy has loved making the movies and he gets on really well with all the cast," a source told The Sun. "But Robert's had to spend large parts of the year in the UK filming so will probably welcome the move back home.

"He loves the UK, and London in particular but having home comforts close by is such a big bonus."

Warner Bros pushed forward with a third Sherlock Holmes movie last October by hiring Iron Man 3 writer Drew Pearce to work on a screenplay.

The second entry in the franchise Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows hit cinemas last month.

Ritchie is currently working on a big-screen adaptation of The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
