Blood+ is an anime series produced by Production I.G and Aniplex and directed by Junichi Fujisaku.

Plot:

Blood+, the follow up to one of the best-selling animé films of all time, Blood: The Last Vampire, comes to Adult Swim. The story, set in modern-day Okinawa, follows high school senior Saya Otonashi who lives a happy life with her adoptive family. She is suffering from a great memory loss and can only remember the events of her life in the past year. Her happy existence is shattered one night when she is attacked by a blood-sucking creature called a "Chiropteran". The attack triggers her memories and she soon discovers that she is the only one who can defeat the Chiropterans.

Episode 1. First Kiss
Saya leads a happy life with her adoptive parent, George, and brothers, Kai and Riku in Okinawa, Japan. She lost her memory and cannot remember anything beyond the past year of her life. After witnessing a creature kill a teacher at her school things automatically change. Now the monster is after her and the only one that can help her is a mysterious cellist. Now her true destiny begins to emerge and her life is changed forever.

Episode 2. Magic Words
After being kissed and being forced to drink blood, by the cellist, Saya's eyes begin to glow and she becomes a fighting machine. After easily slicing through the Chiropteran Saya collapses. She wakes in the hospital and hears George and David talking about her. Their conversation scares her so bad that she runs away. Now it is up to Kai to find her.

Episode 3. The Place Where It All Began
David has given George a deadline to hand over Saya back to the Red Shield. George takes Saya to his family grave to show what exactly happened to her one year ago.

Episode 4. Dangerous Boy
George is taken into ICU after being severely injured. Angered, Kai takes the gun that George had been hiding and goes after Forrest. Riku informs Saya about Kai and both of them go off to search for Kai. Kai finds Forrest, but it seems he has become the monster he was when he attacked George. Now Saya must get to Kai as quickly as possible, for it is a matter of life and death. Can she get there is time?

Episode 5. Beyond the Dark Forest
David prepares his group to go after George. When they learn he has been secretly transfered to the Yanabaru laboratory in Northern Okinawa, they prepare to head there. When Kai finds out he decides he decides he want to go with the group. But will David allow it?

Episode 6. My Father's Hands
David, Saya, and Hagi infiltrate the Yanbaru laboratory to rescue George. While they are there David finds out the US army is artificially creating Chiropterans. Along with the information on the artificial Chriopterans, David finds the mysterious keyword "Delta 67". Meanwhile the Commander of US Forces on Okinawa has authorized surgical bombing of Yanbaru to remove any incriminating evidence.

Episode 7. I Must Do It
While David and Julia decode what they found at Yanbaru, Riku finds out about George's death. After finding out, Riku hides in his room and refuses to come out. Now Kai must take on a fatherly role to cheer his brother up.  

Episode 8. Phantom of the School
Saya is enrolled in a French school in Vietnam that was associated with the wine found at the military base, while Hagi goes undercover as a gardener. Not long after getting there Saya learns from her talkative roommate that the phantom at the school kidnaps girls that look similar to Saya. After investigating some more Saya is led to the bell tower where she comes face to face with the phantom.

Episode 9. Rainbow for Each
Saya reports to Red Sheild about the phantom and how all the missing girls had similar looks to her. Meanwhile Riku meets a Vietnamese girl named Mui who has the same ability as him. After spending some time with Mui, Riku realizes the importance of his family and decides to try and reunite with Kai and Saya. Argeno\'s team makes it impossible when they kidnap Kai, Riku, and Mui.

Episode 10. I Want to See You
When Saya arrives in her class one morning, she finds a blue rose. With the blue rose in hand Saya and Hagi go to the rose garden where the blue roses are said to bloom. After a little looking around they find a staircase leading underground in a shack. Is this where the phantom is hiding?

Episode 11. After the Dance
A ball is held once a year at the school and students and their parents arrive dressed in formal attire. Saya goes wearing a dress she borrowed from Min. While she is at the ball David and Julia show at the ball, but they are not the only strangers there. Saya meets a young man named Solomon who asks her for a dance. The Phantom appears and now Saya and everyone must do their best to defeat him.

Episode 12. Lured by the White Mist
Saya and the group, joined along by The Red Shield, Clara, Spencer, Rogers and McCoy, pursue the container carrying Diva which was transferred to the school. They trek up the Mekong River to the experiment farm of Cinq Fleche Pharmaceutical where they find Mui, Riku and Kai as well as numerous children kidnapped and brought here from all over Vietnam. Saya and the others are not aware of this fact, however, as they prepare for a clash.

Episode 13. Jungle Paradise
As Carl and the Chiropteran children continue their attack, Saya is still unable to battle. After seeing a hand land in front of her, Saya remembers more of her past in Vietnam. Now Saya has gone beserk and is attacking anyone she sees, friend or foe. Carl arrives to fight Saya now that she has "awakened". Can she defeat him?

Episode 1. The Last Sunday
Everyone returns to Okinawa after finishing things up in Vietnam. While David and Julia go over the new mission, Saya, Kai, and Riku take George's baseball glove to the family grave. There Saya tells them what George told her. Afterwards Kai and Riku make it where Saya re-unites with her best friend Kaori.

Episode 2. I Want to Pursue!
Okamura begins his search to find Saya so he can understand what happened at the wine barrel storage at the school. Meanwhile Mao is getting tired of not seeing Kai. Now two people, with different motives for their search, meet. But can the two of them really find Saya and Kai?

Episode 3. Siberian Express
Saya and the others meet up with Elizabeta, another member of the Red Sheild, in Russia. The group will be riding the Trans-Siberian Railroad to Ekaterinburg for their mission. Things seem to be going smoothly until two Chiropterans show up on the train. Now Saya and Hagi must kill them before they hurt anyone. Can they defeat them?

Episode 4. Do you Remember the Promise?
After Riku falls of the train, Saya jumps off after him in attempt to save him. Now she is caught in a blizzard and collapses. While she is passed out, Saya dreams of her past and when she and Hagi were in Russia back in the 1920s. While looking for a man named Gregory, they meet a girl named Sonia. Though Sonia is an ordinary girl, there is more to her then meets the eye.

Episode 5. Moon Over Ekaterinburg
Kai is relieved to find out that Saya and Riku are safe, but doesn't have time to relax as David and Lewis take him to find Ted A. Adams. According to David, Ted is one of scientist who worked on Delta 67 back during the Vietnam war. After searching Ted's house, the three are led to a sickly old man named Phillip Rosenberg. Does he know the whereabouts of Ted?

Episode 6. Broken Heart
Saya and her group arrive at the hotel where they are supposed to meet up with the others. Not long after arriving Riku comes down with a fever. Saya stays with Riku to take care of him. While Saya is taking care of Riku she is questioned by Liza about what she knows about the Chiropterans and why she fights them. When Saya tells her she fights them to protect people Liza questions if that is really Saya's wish. Who is the person acting as Liza?

Episode 7. Chevalier
David and the others return to Red Shield headquarters where they are checked for any signs of Chiropteran infections. Meanwhile Ashmel, Solomon, James, and Nathan meet up to figure out a what to do about Saya. Also Kai finds out something from Joel's diary.   

Episode 8. Sour Grapes
As Okamura and Mao search for Kai and answers to a few of their questions, Saya and Hagi continue their journey only to be stopped by a mysterious black-hooded group who want more than to start a fight. Calling themselves the Schiff, they have but only one person in mind who they believe is the key to their survival . Now Saya and Hagi must deal with this new threat, but, can they?

Episode 9. The Zoo
Saya arrives at "The Zoo", the ruins of Joel's mansion. There she recalls when she first met with Hagi, what happened to make Saya turn Hagi into a Chevalier, and the mansion burning down. What happened there long ago?

Episode 10. Two Chevaliers
Saya and Hagi return to "The Zoo" again and have a run in with Solomon. Hagi makes an attempt to defeat him, but Solomon easily wins. He then reveals to the two that he is a Chevalier and more Chevaliers are trying to kill Saya. But unlike them he is against it. As they are talking David, Kai, and Riku arrive at "The Zoo". What is Solomon after and will Saya and Hagi be able to prepare to fighting the other Chevaliers?

Episode 11. Airy Singing Voice
Saya and Diva finally face off after Saya sees what Diva has done to Riku. With a new will to fight, Saya begins to attack her little sister, but stands no chance as she is tossed clear through a wall. Can Saya really defeat her sister? And what will she do to save Riku?

Episode 12. The Red Shield
Okamura and Mao arrive at the Zoo, only to find Saya's broken sword and the battle ground of Hagi and Solomon's fight. Meanwhile at Red Shield HQ, Riku is in a comma and it doesn't look like her will wake up anytime soon. Now Saya must face Kai for what she did. Can she face him? And will Riku ever wake up?

Episode 1. Those Who Serve Saya
Riku finally awakes from his coma, making everyone happy. Although he may be alive and well, Riku feels different from before. Kai becomes frustrated about not being able to help his younger brother. Meanwhile the Schiff close in on Red Shield HQ. Now they can easily get to Saya, now that the Red Shield HQ is docked in Marseilles, France.

Episode 2. Paris, Jet'Aime
Kai finds out that Riku is now a chevalier. He wanders around Paris wonder what he can do, when he meets Irene on the observation deck of the Eiffel Tower.

Episode 3. Limited Existence
As Irene shows signs of dying, the Schiff prepare to execute their attack on Red Shield HQ. Meanwhile, Julia finds D-factor. D-factor seems to be the secret of the Chiropteran blood. Mao and Okamura find Saya's hideout and try to sneak in, but are caught by Lewis. David says he will send them back to Japan.

Episode 4. Cursed Blood
Saya gives Irene some of her blood, but it doesn't stop the crystallization process. Karman attacks Saya, but Hagi and Moses stop him. Moses tells everyone the Schiff's new mission. To take revenge on the source of their cursed blood, Diva. Does this mean an alliance between the Schiff and Saya?

Episode 5. Joel's Diary
As Saya continues to stew, Kai tells her he knows what she is. He then suggests she read Joel's Diary. After reading the diary Saya finds out the past of the Zoo. Will this help her in her fight against Diva?

Episode 6. Breaking Shield
While Saya and the others shop, Julia and Collins meet with Van Argeno. To make matters worse, Collins has told Van where Red Shield HQ is. At the same moment Diva decides she wants to see Riku and makes Carl take her to him. Now the battle is on again and Saya must give it her all to keep Diva away from Riku. Could this be the end of the Red Shield and will Saya be able to protect Riku?

Episode 7. Boy Meets A Girl
Diva and Carl have invaded Red Shield HQ. Diva leaves Carl to take care of things while she goes to search for Riku. Saya will have none of it as she leaves Hagi to fight Carl while she goes to find Diva. Meanwhile Kai and Riku are running through the ship to get away from Diva, but it is useless since Diva can hear Riku's heart beat. Is this the end of the line for Kai and Riku?

Episode 8. Power of Believing
It has been 1 year since the fall of the Red Shield. Even though the Red Shield has fallen, it doesn't mean that all it's surviving members have stopped fighting Diva. Kai and Lewis are now fighting Chiropterans in London. Even though Saya hasn't been seen in a year Kai believes that she is still alive and continues his fight in hopes of seeing her again. Is Saya still alive?

Episode 9. World Where We Exist
Saya has returned and her year long absence wasn’t wasted. She easily kills 2 Chiropterans, but collapses shortly after. Kai and Lewis take her back to Gray’s to rest up. After being around her for a short period, Kai realizes this is not the Saya he once knew. What happened to Saya over her year long absence?

Episode 10. Tommorow Without Hope
Still wondering why Diva is using Riku's face, Saya and Hagi take shelter in a church. Elsewhere, the Schiff have seen the same thing as Saya and are pondering their next move. Before they know it, they are surrounded by the Corpse Corps and attacked. Though they do their best, they are easily defeated. Is this the end of the Schiff?

Episode 11. Mismatched Feelings
Carl is furious about not being the one to kill Saya. No matter how much he argues with Amshell, Amshell refuses to let him go after Saya. Meanwhile, Saya and Hagi confront James, Nathan, and Diva at the Opera House. Will Saya and Hagi be able to defeat James and Nathan and kill Diva?

Episode 12. To The Sheer Level of Madness
Carl decides that he is the one to kill Saya and steals some of the Corpse Corps to go after Saya himself. Meanwhile Kai invites Saya to Javier's birthday party. Saya agrees to go and after the party that night, Carl attacks. As the battle begins the remaining Schiff arrive to assist Saya and Hagi, while Kai and David try to take one or two out themselves. Now it is Saya versus Carl in a one on one battle. Can she finally kill him?

Episode 13. Showdown Island
Following Solomon's information, Saya and Hagi, the Schiff, and the remaining members of the Red Sheild head to Christina Island. Upon arriving the Schiff go off on their own and run into a large group of the Corpse Corps. Elsewhere Saya and the others run into James who has been waiting on them. As the battle begins, it seems as if nothing can break through James' armor. Kai comes up with a plan, but he will need the help of Hagi. Can this plan really help them defeat James?

Episode 1. Magic Words Once More
While Glay takes Saya, Kai, and the kids fishing, Joel and David attend a party held by Amshel. After an exchange of words, the stage is set for the showdown between the Red Sheild and Diva's Chevaliers. Now Saya and the others must go to new York to confront them.

Episode 2. Dreams that Chevaliers Dream
Everyone has arrived in the United States, and while Kai and the others look for an apartment, Saya rests and recieves her transfusions. At Nathan's estate, while Diva is practicing her singing she is approached by Solomon. After talking to Diva about their past, Solomon tries to convince Diva to let Saya live. Knowing Solomon is in love with Saya, Diva tells Solomon he is no longer her Chevalier. What will he do now?

Episode 3. Place Where I Belong
Seeing herself as a burden to everyone and not being able to do anything, Mao decides to buy a ticket back to Okinawa. Though she is sure about leaving, she still has her doubts. After talking with Saya and Kai, Mao becomes even more unsure about leaving. Will she leave or stay?

Episode 4. Soprano of Miracles
Amshel and Nathan enter Diva's room and find it a mess. When Amshel asks what Diva would like, she points to a picture of Kai lying on the floor. At the Air Base, Saya and the others have arrived and begin setting up. While Saya rests, Kai and David search for Diva.

Episode 5. Confused Heart
Saya wakes up to find that she is in an unfamiliar bed and her clothes are gone. Wrapping a sheet around herself, Saya looks out the window to see New York and is surprised by Solomon appearing behind her. Elsewhere David is being taken into surgery with Julia, Kai, and Lewis close behind.

Episode 6. Into the Light
Julia comes back with the remnants of the Red Shield to their apartment in New York. While she informs Saya and the others of the full situation with Diva's babies, Lulu arrives to visit. This and Kai's friendliness to Moses and Lulu worry Karman.

Episode 7. Turn the Palm of Your Hand Toward the Sun
As if things weren't problematic enough for Saya and the others, Moses shows up at Kai's apartment and begins attacking him. After being seperated from everyone, Kai tries his best to stay in the light of the rising sun. When Moses manages to corner him in an alley, Kai draws his gun against Moses. What is the reason Moses is attacking Kai? Will Kai be able to use his gun against his friend?  

Episode 8. May Tomorrow Be a Clear Day
While Saya and Kai go shopping, Nathan appears before Solomon to tell him about Diva's babies. Offering to let him see them, Nathan takes Solomon to were Diva is. Upon seeing Diva, Solomon asks that she die and attacks her. Unfortunetly for him Diva proves to much and he is easily defeated. Elsewhere David and the other find a shocking secret about Diva's singing.

Episode 9. Beyond All Blood
While Kai, David, Lewis, and Okamura go plant a bomb to prevent Diva's singing being heard world-wide, Saya is attacked by James. With his body made up of Corpse Corp body parts, the Chevalier proves to much for Saya, Hagi, and Lulu to handle. Right as things are looking grim for the three, an unexpected ally arrives to turn the tide of the battle.

Episode 10. Skyscraper Opera
Saya and the others arrive at the Metropolitan Opera House ahead of Diva. While waiting Kai questions Hagi about Saya's ability to fight. With Diva still not having arrived yet, Joel questions whether or not she will come. Saya is quick to say Diva will as she can hear Diva's singing. Upon Diva's arrival, Saya and Hagi immediately go to fight her, but are they ready for what Amshel has planned?

Episode 11. Two Queens
Saya tries to explain her reasons for wanting to kill Diva, but knowing her sister does not understand, she begins the fight. Meanwhile Hagi and Amshel begin their fight. It's Queen vs. Queen and Chevalier vs. Chevalier. Who will be the victor?

Episode 12. Nan-kuru-nai-sah
With her sister dead, Saya prepares to kill Diva's babies as well. Before she can, Kai begins to try and convice her to spare her nieces and live on with them. He also manages to get Hagi to tell Saya how he truly feels. As things come to an end, Saya must make her decision. End the line of Chiropterans, or live on an coincide with humans. What will she do?
