Indian Summers tells the colourful and rich story of the decline of the British Empire and the birth of modern India. The show tells the both sides of the experience. The story is set in the summer of 1932, the British are only just holding on to power, and India dream of Independence may come true. The story is set in a place called Simla. During the summer months the power-brokers of Britain descend there. In the heart of the society is Julie Walters character Cynthia a powerful and influential persona.
