Jolie And Pitt To Adopt From India?

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are to extend their multinational brood with a child from India, according to reports.

The pair already has three adopted children - Maddox, seven, from Cambodia, Pax, four, from Vietnam and Zahara, three, from Ethiopia - as well as biological daughter Shiloh, two, and their seven-month-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

Jolie recently revealed plans to adopt from India when she met the child stars of Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire.

When ten year old Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail asked the Tomb Raider star why she hadn't adopted from his home country, she replied, "Well, I'll let you into a little secret, we will soon."

A source tells British newspaper the Sunday Express that the couple originally showed interest in adopting from India when they visited the country's Priya Darshini Orphanage in 2006, but were too busy to finalise the details.

The insider says, "They filled out all the paperwork but had to put the adoption on hold because of all their other commitments."

A spokesperson for Hartnett was unavailable for comment as WENN went to press.

Madonna: 'Adoption Is Nobody Else's Business'

Madonna has hit out at critics who have slammed her bid to adopt Malawian orphan Mercy James - insisting it is "none of their business".

The pop superstar has confirmed she will file adoption papers in the country's court this week (begs30Mar09) to legally adopt a second child, believed to be four-year-old James, whose 18-year-old mother died five days after giving birth to her.

But the bid has been hit by opposition from officials - as well as the girl's family.

Mercy's grandmother, Lucy Chekechiwa, 61, says, "Why doesn't this singer pick other children? It is stealing. I want to go to court, I won't let her go."

And U.K.-based charity Save The Children also claim it is best for a child to remain in their homeland surrounded by their extended family.

The singer arrived in the country over the weekend (begs28Mar09) with her 12-year-old daughter Lourdes and three-year-old-David Banda, who she adopted from the African country in 2006.

Madonna and Lourdes were spotted visiting a plot of land in Chinkhota Village, which the 50-year-old has purchased to construct a girls' school.

The singer declared it felt "amazing" to be visiting the village where she would be helping so many youngsters in the future.

But when asked by a journalist for Britain's ITV News if she could understand the reservations held by some over her adoption bid, she retorted, "No. It's none of their business."

The visit was an emotional experience not only for the pop star, but also for the father of her adopted son.

Yohane Banda was granted a visit with his biological child David on Sunday at the country's upmarket Kumbali lodge - the first time he had seen his biological child in over two years.

An employee at the lodge tells Britain's The Times newspaper, "He (Yohane) was hopping from foot to foot, you could see he was very happy. He had been waiting here all morning, you could see he was over the moon when Madonna arrived with David, but the reunion itself was private."

DiCaprio 'warned Efron of drug dangers'

Zac Efron has revealed that Leonardo DiCaprio once warned him to stay away from drugs or risk messing up his burgeoning career.

Speaking to The Mail On Sunday, the High School Musical star admitted that DiCaprio's stark advice about the dangers of substance abuse had made a lasting impression on him.

"I've spent some time with him and we were talking one day and it was kind of his way-out-the-door, last-minute advice. He said, 'Oh, by the way, if you really want to mess this all up, try heroin,'" he explained.

"I said, 'Thanks', and he said, 'No, seriously, that's pretty much the only way you're going to screw this up, and you shouldn't go down that road - it will mess you up without fail. Do not do drugs'.

"That was enough for me - that's all I needed to hear."

Berry Wants More Kids

Halle Berry is keen to expand her family with boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, but fears she's too old to have more kids.

The 42-year-old actress has a one-year-old daughter, Nahla, with model/bar owner Aubry, and admits she's keen for more, but she insists that, at her age, she can only try and leave the rest to nature.

Berry says, "Yeah, my mind says yes, but the rest isn't up to me - so we'll see."

But she insists she isn't interested in following in the footsteps of mother-of-six Angelina Jolie and filling her home full of babies, adding, "I hope I don't have, like, 14 more! That's all I hope."

Affleck Regrets TV Special

Remember the TV news special Ben Affleck filmed with his then-fiancee Jennifer Lopez to promote movie flop Gigli? He wishes you didn't.

The odd couple invited U.S. TV cameras into their home for Ben & Jen: A Dateline Special in 2003, and were candid about their romance, but Affleck has nothing but bad memories about the intimate portrayal - and he wishes he had said no to the idea.

Now happily married to Jennifer Garner - the mother of his two kids - Affleck admits the special he shot with Lopez is one of his biggest career regrets.

He tells WENN, "That special was before the movie came out and I did it at the request of the people who financed the movie. I wish I hadn't done it.

"At a certain point I think you have to strike a balance between what you owe people who finance your work and the degree to which you can protect the integrity of your personal life.

"In that case, I erred on the side of not sufficiently protecting my own privacy. If I could do it all again I would not have done that TV special and I will not do anything like it in the future."

Milano Urges Troubled Stars To Try Sports

Actress Alyssa Milano is convinced hard-partying Hollywood stars would avoid trouble with the law if they gave up their wild lifestyles and followed sports instead.

The former child star - who rose to fame in 1980s U.S. TV series Who's The Boss? - admits she could've easily become fodder for tabloid gossips.

But Milano credits her love of baseball with keeping her out of a bad crowd, in her new book Safe at Home.

She says, "In the craziness of growing up in this industry and being a child star, I always felt safe at home... The beauty about going to see a baseball game is you have 40,000 people concentrated on one result. So it's easy to leave everything behind and focus on what's happening - which is your team. I think that for me, if I had the choice of going to a club and (start) underage drinking, I chose the sporting event everytime."

Fox: 'Parkinson's Disease Doesn't Define Me'

Actor Michael J. Fox refuses to be hindered by his battle with Parkinson's disease - insisting he isn't defined by the illness.

Fox was diagnosed with the degenerative brain disease back in 1991.

He compares his struggle with nursing an unruly child, telling talk show queen Oprah Winfrey, "It's like having a four-year-old climbing on you all the time and so whatever you're trying to do, you've got this four-year-old and you're… just trying to be patient and focus on what you need to do."

The Back to the Future star has become a well-known advocate of Parkinson's disease research since publicly disclosing his battle with the illness in 1998.

But Fox insists his inner turmoil will not take over his life.

He adds, "I'm a dad, I'm a husband, I'm an activist, I'm a writer and I'm just a student of the world. This is one fact of my life, but it's not the totality of my life. It doesn't define me."

The actor founded the Michael J. Fox Foundation in 2000, which has since become the largest private funder in the U.S. of medical research into the disease.

It's official: 'Friday Night Lights' renewed for two seasons

Touchdown!

Sources at NBC are now confirming what I first reported earlier this month: DirecTV and NBC have come to terms on a deal that ensures Friday Night Lights will stick around for not one but two more seasons!

And I repeat: Touchdown!

Although NBC declined to comment, my Peacock insider says the pact guarantees that FNL will see a fourth and fifth season of 13 episodes each. Similar to this season's shared-window experiment, DirecTV will get first crack at the episodes followed by an encore run on NBC.

Diesel Fights Off Marriage Grilling

Hollywood hardman Vin Diesel was left squirming on U.S. TV on Monday night as talk show host Jay Leno grilled him on his marriage plans.

Diesel has been dating Paloma Jimenez for seven years, and admits family members are putting pressure on him to propose.

But he's not ready to reveal his intentions, and refused to discuss any upcoming nuptials during an appearance on Leno's The Tonight Show.

When Leno asked, "When are you going to marry her?", the embarrassed actor replied, "Hey Jay, what are you trying to do? Whose side are you on? Was my mother on the show last night...? This is horrible - on national TV!"

Hasselhoff's Daughters Set For Charts

David HASSELHOFFs teenage daughters are muscling in on their dad's act - they are launching their own pop careers.

The Baywatch star is helping 18-year-old Taylor and Hayley, 16, with their plans to dominate the charts - but will take a back seat in the running of their careers.

British DJ Scott Mills, who moved in with Hasselhoff for a forthcoming documentary, says, "David really wants it to work - it's all he can talk about. He will be advising them, but he's looking for full-time management for them.

"He's sorted it all out and he's very hands-on. They're recording a song together. It's like Miley Cyrus-ish pop - it's teen pop."

Witherspoon's Son Dreams Of Fighting Aliens

Reese Witherspoon's son took his famous mum's role in Monsters Vs. Aliens a bit too literally - the five-year-old is now convinced extra-terrestrials really exist.

The 33-year-old, who voices a giant woman in the film, made sure she took son Deacon and daughter Ava, nine, to see the animated epic ahead of its release.

But when Witherspoon quizzed the pair about the meaning behind the movie, she realised she'd have a bit more explaining to do than she first thought.

The star says, "My kids love this movie. I asked them what they thought the movie meant, what they thought the message was.

"My daughter said, 'You should never let anybody under-estimate you', and I was like, 'Yeah, that's true!' Then I asked my son and he said, 'If octopus aliens invade our planet you have to kill them'."

Parkinson's Disease Helped Make Fox A Great Dad

Actor Michael J. Fox's Parkinson's Disease has helped him to become a better dad.

The Back To The Future star insists his medical condition made him put his kids first - and his work second.

During an interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired on her daily talk show in America on Tuesday, Fox said, "If I'm sitting, watching TV or something and my kids come and they want to show me something, they wanna ask me something, I just made up my mind that there's nothing that I'm doing at any time that's more important than that, and I'll always get up every time and go.

"I don't know that I would think that way before this happened. I really get that every moment is special and important... As long as I can get there, I'll be there."

Sheen Dismisses Baby Health Scare Story

New dad Charlie Sheen has dismissed reports one of his twin boys is battling a heart condition in hospital - the infant is just undersized.

The reports suggested little Max, who was born last month, had been taken to a Los Angeles-area hospital, but Sheen insists there's not a lot wrong with the twin.

A publicist explains, "He (Max) has not gained the weight necessary to leave the hospital. Max is expected to reach the weight requirement shortly and will join his brother at home... Both Bob and Max are fine."

And Sheen is turning the reported scare into a joke, telling news show Extra, "The weight issue is very common among infants who were born before reaching full term. I know a lot of people are not fond of hospital food; I just didn't realise that they started so young."

Max and his brother Bob were born two weeks premature.

Madonna's adoption bid rejected by Malawi judge

A Malawi judge has rejected Madonna's bid to adopt another child from the African country, according to the AP. A judge and lawyer, speaking to the AP anonymously, reportedly said the bid was shot down due to a requirement that prospective parents live in Malawi for at least 18 month before they can adopt. A judge waived that rule when Madonna took her adopted son David with her to London in 2006. It is unclear why Judge Esme Chombo ruled differently this time.

Madonna's attempt to adopt 3-year-old Chifundo "Mercy" James has created outcry amongst activists who claim the girl would be better off with relatives.

Producer: Fawcett's Cancer Has Spread to Liver; Actress "Doing Fantastic"

Farrah Fawcett's anal cancer has spread to her liver, but she is "doing fantastic," according to a producer speaking for the actress.

The former Charlie's Angels star is currently hospitalized for abdominal bleeding after undergoing aggressive treatments in Germany to address the cancer's spread to her liver, producer Craig Nevius told The Associated Press. Initial reports said Fawcett, 62, was in critical condition, but Nevius said the actress is "not at death's door."

"She's on the mend and will be going home very shortly," Nevius said. "She's doing fantastic. Her fight goes on. ... She's not going anywhere anytime soon."

Fawcett's physician, Lawrence Piro, said the star suffered a hematoma after flying back to the United States following a procedure in Germany. He said recent photos of her in a wheelchair were misleading.

"Actually, it was painful for her to walk, which is why she was in that wheelchair. And that pain, which was coming from the hematoma, had nothing directly to do with the cancer," Piro told People. "She's able to walk. And she remains in good spirits with her usual sense of humor. She's been in great shape her whole life and has an incredible resolve and an incredible resilience."

Fawcett was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006. She was declared "cancer free" in February 2007, but the cancer returned months later, prompting her to seek alternative treatments in Germany.

Speaking on Fawcett's behalf, Nevius said Fawcett wants to address the recent reports in "appreciation for her fans, who have offered their constant support throughout her fight. ... Farrah has hope, and she hopes that others will continue to hold onto theirs."
