Identity is a six-part series which follows an elite police unit formed to combat the explosion of identity-related crime.
Keeley Hawes and Aidan Gillen star in writer Ed Whitmore's drama which is here to tackle the darker side of reinvention: murderers who literally take other people’s lives, criminals who create new personas to escape evil pasts, impostors who look, talk and sound just like us but would kill you in a heartbeat.
The unit, lead by DSI Martha Lawson, (Keeley Hawes), works any case where making an identification is a significant part of solving the crime by outsmarting, hunting down and unmasking the modern day Jekyll and Hydes.
Lawson, who founded the organisation, also heads up the team and takes a gamble by hiring John Bloom (Aidan Gillen), the secret weapon of the Identity Unit.
Crucially, Bloom is an ex-undercover cop so he knows first hand what it’s like to pretend to be someone you are not. He’s also only too aware of how easy it is to lose your own identity when you’re living a lie...

1. Episode One
Sean and Beverly Lincoln, a British couple and creators of a successful UK sitcom named Lyman's Boys, sell their show to an US network. When they arrive in Hollywood to produce the US remake, they learn that their lead actor has been replaced by Matt LeBlanc.

2. Episode Two
Sean and Beverly still try to come to terms with their new headmaster Matt LeBlanc when Merc invites them to a dinner party at his house. At the party, Matt appears to be charming and smart, until he upsets Beverly and she has to realize antagonizing him was a bad idea.

3. Episode Three
After falling out with Matt, Beverly leaves it to Sean to deal with Matt. During a trip to Las Vegas, Sean and Matt become good friends, but soon Beverly feels left out.

4. Episode Four
Sean and Beverly are forced to intervene before a drunken Matt drives drunk. They end up at Matt's ex-wife's house where Matt has to face past mistakes he made.

5. Episode Five
Matt takes Sean and his co-star Morning to a charity event where Sean and the actress discover their mutual feelings. Meanwhile, Carol and Beverly smoke pot and talk about the men in their lives.

6. Episode Six
When Beverly finds evidence that Sean feels attracted to Morning, she leaves their house, but causes a car crash.

7. Episode Seven
Beverly regrets leaving Sean. After coming back, Sean and Beverly wrap their show and get ready to go back to London.

Episode 2: Secret Love
A young Muslim woman is found stabbed to death, but is her killer using religion as a justification or a scapegoat? Elsewhere, Rhys and Allie continue their relationship in defiance of Waverley.

Episode 3: Reward Day / No Greater Honour - Part 1
One prison officer shot dead, the other injured, and the crim they were escorting is now at large. As Homicide embarks on a killer manhunt, Nick gets close to a journalist with a hidden agenda. As Duncan and Nick interrogate the prisoners and prison staff for clues, the media step up the pressure on Homicide. A second murder brings to light a lethal drug syndicate responsible for multiple prison deaths. Have the players in this drug ring been driven to murder to conceal their web of corruption? As the manhunt intensifies, Nick meets Juliette Gardiner, a journalist covering the 10th anniversary of a high-profile homicide he solved as a young detective. The liaison soon becomes more than professional, but things get complicated when Juliette gets a tip-off to investigate Nick — could he be a corrupt cop?

Episode 4: Go Down Swinging / No Greater Honour - Part 2
When an unidentified woman is strangled and dumped, Homicide is drawn into the Swingers scene. Rhys and a reluctant Allie go undercover at a seedy sex party and Nick's fling with reporter Juliette takes a dark turn. A man comes in to Homicide to I.D. the body of his missing wife, but when the deceased is revealed to him, he informs Homicide they've made a mistake. The body on the slab is not his wife's — the dead woman before them is his and his wife's lover. As reporter Juliette Gardiner delves into Dane Majors' case, the mysterious Deep Throat gives her information suggesting serious police misconduct. Nick confides in Jennifer — his reputation is on the line. How far-reaching will Deep Throat's revelations be?

Episode 5: If It Bleeds, It Leads / No Greater Honour - Part 3
Juliette Gardiner, investigative reporter, is brutally gunned down in a car park. Three people witnessed this attack: her killer, her source, and her ex-lover — Nick Buchanan. Juliette's death reveals Nick's connection to evidence fabrication in an old case. Dane Majors — Australian cricket legend — was charged and convicted of killing his wife. A star scalp for Nick, and a killer off the streets, or so he thought. A niggle of doubt grows into serious accusations when Nick suspects his former mentor of evidence tampering. With the media and the State's Attorney General clamouring for answers, Homicide might have to play dirty to catch the true culprit. Will the team go too far to protect one of their own or will Nick be forced to fall on his own sword?

Episode 6: Tangled Web / No Greater Honour - Part 4
The case that made Nick Buchanan's career has fallen apart. Dane Majors is now a free man and a murder that was laid to rest ten years ago has been re-opened. Who really did kill Tahnee Majors? The case that ruined Dane Majors' life will now see him walk out of prison. The revelation of planted evidence has re-opened a murder that was laid to rest ten years ago. Nick Buchanan sits on the sidelines while his comrades get cracking on this cold case. But Homicide isn't holding all the cards. Deep Throat is still leaking information to the Tribune newspaper, information that is about to blow this case wide open. Literally! The team are looking out for Nick by doing what they do best — working the case. But they're coming up against a hostile public, ruthless press, and the long-suffering loved ones of a murder victim. Will solving this case help Nick get back on the job, or drive him out of Homicide for good?

Episode 7: Last Man Standing / No Greater Honour - Part 5
Dane Majors' lawyer. The judge who presided over his trial. Both murdered. Were they killed for their part in Dane Majors' conviction? And could Nick Buchanan be the next target? When Nick fails to return to work, Jennifer takes her concerns to Stanley. A search of Nick's home reveals he may have met with foul play and as the body count grows, so do Jennifer's fears. The squad has been warned to leave Dane Majors alone — no matter what. But Jarvis uses every trick he knows to keep the pressure on Majors — with devastating consequences. Jennifer is determined to find Nick and pursues the killer to the horrifying end. Meanwhile, Waverley reaches out a helping hand to Rhys — but the opportunity of his career comes at a hefty price.

Episode 8: Ghosts / No Greater Honour - Part 6
Homicide is called out to a hospice where a dying man wants to confess to murder. But by the time our cops arrive he's already dead. So was he telling the truth? Who are the victims of this long buried crime? The path of discovery gets muddy when it's revealed that the killer didn't die of natural causes. Someone didn't want these murders to surface. Waverley and Jarvis announce that the Attorney General Michael Lombardi is about to disband Homicide. In the emotional fallout, Rhys makes a sacrifice but is it too little, too late? Then, the investigation turns up an unlikely connection; Deep Throat is finally unmasked... but is it enough to save Homicide?

1. Second Life
A former war hero is arrested for the shooting of a police officer, but claims to have been set up by a man who has stolen his identity and is determined to destroy him. The newly-established Identity Unit identifies two similar cases, and DI John Bloom becomes convinced that the identity thief is punishing his victims for their marital indiscretions.

2. Chelsea Girl
Immigration records show a woman entering the UK hours after she was murdered in Australia. DI Bloom realises that the impostor is working out unresolved childhood issues, and that she may pose a threat to her father and his fiancée. DS Wareing is unsettled by Bloom's cavalier approach.

3. Pariah
The Identity Unit must protect a woman when her true identity as the wife of a convicted child murderer is exposed. DI Bloom abandons the safe house when his lover, Adile, asks for his help, and the woman's son is kidnapped, forcing the Identity Unit to find a way of meeting the ransom demand.

4. Reparation
A dentist claims that an important Asian businessman is an impostor, and the Identity Unit is tasked with confirming his true identity. DI Bloom is sent under cover to obtain a swab for DNA analysis, but his cover is compromised.

5. Somewhere They Can't Find Me
A routine DNA sample identifies a woman as a terrorist who has been on the run for 25 years. The Identity Unit is tasked with obtaining a confession to her involvement in murder, but she absconds with her former accomplice. The officer who led the original investigation is brought in to assist, but it soon transpires that he has been keeping a secret all these years.

6.Tomorrow Comes Early
DI Bloom's secret life as Brendan Shea is exposed when Atif's body is discovered and Adile is brought in for questioning. When her father kidnaps Det Supt Lawson, Bloom has to decide where his priorities lie.
