New Site Crashing Please Fix for Mac Users!

Everytime I try to load a show, it crashes the Firefox browser. I've cleared all my personal data such as the cache, I've shutdown and restarted and STILL, it keeps crashing my browser and the player. I am very upset and fustrated. I am using a MAC with v10.4.11 I too have lost the majority of my viewing history, nothing in MAY and a bit before that as well. I do not like how I need to go to 3 pages to see all the episodes in any given season. Yes, I like the episode names, but the spacing issues leave a lot to be desired. I would also like to see the new episodes that have been added to be in different colors, that is a great visual aid. I also miss the navigation that happens when you hover over the top row, like All Shows, Free Shows, it was more efficient the old way. This is way too buggy to put out a major change like this before checking compatibility with all the major operating systems. Please fix the browser crashes. I can live with the visual changes, but if it crashes all the time, what's the use of having the service? [ Last edited by themothership at 5-24-2009 01:08 ]
Are you using a Mac by any chance? If so, it seems most (if not all) Mac users have had trouble.

Poll new site

Yes, we like the new site, BUT one thing is missing, the new shows on each night in RED, YELLOW, that was really nice to catch your eye right away, will that be coming back thanks. your doing a great job......

browser crashes

it's great that you appreciate our feedback, but can we get an answer regarding the browser problems on macs? that i would greatly appreciate!

Mac User Experiencing Browser Problems

I don't really care about the site visuals because I can't load anything on my Mac. I have tried using Firefox and Safari, and each time the browser crashes. Someone suggested that I try Google Chrome, but that is not Mac compatible yet. Could someone please fix the problem asap? I like using VIPtv, but if I can't watch any of the shows, then what's the point? Thanks.

Admin has been made aware of the issue Mac users are experiencing. Please give them a little time to resolve the issue. I assure you no one is neglecting your concerns.
It would be nice to get an official update on the MAC/browser crashing situation. Is there an estimated time that this will be resolved?
Not yet. I'm sure as soon as they know when it will be fixed Admin will post an update re: the Mac situation.
I have a suggestion, even from the old site I was always wondering if it was wise, more from a legal point, I'd advise changing "customer support" to Technical support or user support or something along that line since this is a donation site so people aren't really customers on the site. Calling it customer support would mean the users are customers and then this site would be in whole lot of trouble due to all the problems they are having. Just a thought.

Crash...

For all Mac users, just so you know we are not being ignored by admin: I have had a pm response from admin re: Mac issues, asking if I was deducted points when clicking shows (I must be honest I stupidly don't know!) So it seems hopeful that they will get the bugs ironed out soon YAY! I will post this in the poll thread as well as people seem to be asking there Again thanks to all the mods .... it must be frustrating to you as well

ill this site be fixed for macs or not?!!

I'm a long term user of this site and it's my ONLY reliable source of tv programmes. It now crashes every browser I've tried (Firefox, Opera & Safari on Mac, and Firefox and IE in windows running in Mac) I just can't watch anything - I've tried both euro and us servers and everything crashes my browsers. PLEASE tell us if this is likely to improve and when... I know you say that you are not ignoring mac users but some idea of if and when this will be fixed would be so much appreciated.... Thanks, Carole :( [ Last edited by salsababe at 5-24-2009 01:58 ]

Hi carole, the admin team are aware of the issues and are working on debugging them as we speak. Hang on in there and they should be resolved soon. Tks.

to make things worse

There have been no updates on shows for three days. I know the shows have run so why are there no updates? I agree with Tycoonworld, there is no way to get the new episodes or know what has had new episodes nor is there the coming soon part. Those were very good and made the site more user friendly. As much as I have loved VIPTV.net I have to say I am looking for more sites, which is a frustrating thing to do of its own accord but now I am forced to because I can no longer navigate my favorite site. Again, I am trusting the bugs will be worked out and VIPTV.net will improve and some of the better features will return. If not then I suppose it's going to have to be happy hunting, but I can't imagine being happy hunting for my favs when they've been here for so long. Thanks for trying to improve, it's the thought that counts I suppose though it's the viewing that matters and it's not very good viewing since the new look.

New Look site

To be honest I preferred the old look, but I suppose I'll get used to it...Remember the old adage "If it aint broke don't fix it".

Thanks for the feedback. It's still early days so all of your comments suggestions will help make more improvements to the new format. [ Last edited by shinny at 5-24-2009 18:57 ]

Hi there, a lot of shows have had a season finale, so they will not return until September. What shows were you expecting updates on? PM if you prefer. Shinny

Please bring back the categorised show listings. I'm not from the USA and don't know the names of shows. But i know which genres i like watching and like the anticipation and suspense of choosing a show in my preferred genre that i know nothing about and being pleasantly surprised. In any case, I certainly don't want to slog through a really long list of names that give no indication as to their genre then spend time click-clicking through and wasting time with rubbish, that some shows are. Other than that, i like the visual improvements, thanks. *edited to fix blank text issue* [ Last edited by shinny at 5-24-2009 16:21 ]
