Haha, no problem. Well you need to do what's comfortable for you and besides you know better than anyone what you are capable of. I know what you mean about the native speakers. I used to be like that when speaking French !

Welcome back Meg !! The cruise sounds lovely, it's something I want to do also.

Thanks Barb for letting everyone know I made it. Yep Australia is a wonderful place. I'm having fun, but still not 100% as I'm only sleeping on and off. I mean one night I will sleep (with a few beers or wine) and the next night I will be awake the whole night because I don't want to feel groggy from the alcohol. It may take a few more days but I hope I will adjust.

TOP

Hey all, well I finally slept thank god !! I've had two good nights of sleep now and I'm finally feeling normal again.

Hey all, thanks. I'm so back to normal now, it's great.

We've been here a week already, I can't believe that. I read that it can take up to 11 days to "get over' the jet lag when you fly from Ireland to Australia. They also say flying west to east is worse because you are 'losing' time. It makes sense because when I get home I never have any trouble sleeping. I also never have any trouble when I fly to the states.

I've been so pre-occupied by sleep that I haven't even mentioned anything about what we've been doing ! The day after we arrived we went to the Melbourne Grand Prix which is a fantastic specticle. I went the last time we were here too. Unfortunately it was just too warm. It was 40c (104f) in the park. At the best of times that would be a lot for us Irish to cope with, but couple that with the fact that we had only just arrived and were dehydrated from flght etc, didn't make for a good picture. It's a pity becuse this weekend was so much cooler and would have been ideal.

I'm flying up to Brisbane on Wednesday to meet up with some of the others who went to Cairns, so I'm looking forward to that.

Hey all, I'm not getting much time on here, which is fair enough considering where I am, lol !! We went outlet shopping today and with the Euro being so strong against the Aussie Dollar, we got some great bargains. Tomorrow we are off Go Kart racing which I am looking forward to.

I'm missy my little kitty, well he's a fully grown cat now !! He'll be 6 next month. Got him a little pressie too !!

Hey all, well I am back on the Emerald isle so just thought I'd pop in and say hello.

First off, Gypsy, well done girl on becoming a Super Mod, you definitely deserve it !!

Mel, are you settled back in yet?

Barb, how are you feeling now?

How is everyone else?

We arrived home from Australia yesterday after over 30 hours of travelling. We arrived back in Ireland around 12pm and eventually after visiting all my family we got back home around 4.30pm. It was a battle to stay awake until our new bed time, but managed it. Went to bed around 9pm and I woke up about 6am. So I feel fresh as a daisy !!! Back to work tomorrow, so making the most of today. I've to sort out all of the pressies we brought home too.

It was very hard leaving my brother, sister in law and niece at the airport. There were a lot of tears   and then we had to walk through passport control. I'm sure they are used to seeing that alot, they are also one of the nicest passport control people we have ever met !!

What we learned on this flight is NEVER to fly through Paris Charles De Gaul Airport ever again. It was the worst experience of the whole trip. Rude people, terrible airport with no signs of how to transfer to the next flight etc. So, never again. Previously we have flown via Amsterdam (a dream) and London (a nightmare because it's Heathrow, but nice people) and Frankfurt (very efficient, well they are Germans !!) We always fly with Singapore Airlines via Singapore and I cannot speak highly enough about this airline nor Changi airport. The airport in Singapore has to be the best I have ever flown through and I've flown through a lot !!!

Great avatar Studio. I used to love wonder woman. The best bit about Wonder Woman....her rope of truth. Can you imagine if that was real???

Lol, that is funny. I always find it funny when men say women are a mystery to them or women say men are a mystery to them. Having 4 brothers and 4 nephew's men are certainly not a mystery to me. Sometimes I wish they were,   !!

Barb, I totally agree with that. It's nice to see that here. I do not understand women who try to hurt other women, for what? It really annoys me. I have two sisters also and if either of them are successful at something they are more embarrassed about me telling everyone than me be-grudging them! Same with my female friends. I never knock them for trying new things or if they get a promotion at work, tell me they are getting married, have a hunk of a new boyfriend etc !! I am so pleased and genuinely happy for them. Why wouldn't I be? They are my friends and I only want the best for them.

In the mid 40's? Not so bad if you are by the sea or at a beach, but in the desert ! Yikes. Hope you have fun and tell us how you got on when you get back !!

Spot on Barb. I think that has a lot to do with it. Like you, I grew up with strong women. My Mam had to be, she lost her own mother when she was only 6 years old and had to take care of the family (she had 2 older brothers and one younger)

I think we've all met people like that in our lives. I had the exact same experience with a friend who was jealous of everything good that happened to me. It took me a long while to realise that this person was toxic !

Hi all, I haven't popped in for a while either, hope everyone is doing well.

Arielle, if there was every a good reason to skip class then I think that's it. Glad to hear you went to pay your respects to all of those who lost their lives. It's something we should NEVER forget so it can NEVER happen again.

That's good Bala that you are helping your Dad with the gardening. I'm sure he appreciates it.

I heard today that Israel is 60 years old (as an independent country) so happy birthday Israel. You don't look a day over 50

Well my Garden is currently NON existent. It's not the best layout and since there is an upgrade of the house on the cards (aka move to a bigger/better house); I'm not too bothered sorting it out now. I really want a house that has a nice flat back garden so I can mow it easily and have some nice flowers around the border......*Ah dreams*

I love the sound of that. I'd love to have a veggie/herb section in my garden too. My folks place is like your Mum's and my Dad has a ride on mower. You'd have to as it's too much to keep on it's own.

It's nice to have a garden, especially in spring when all of the new flowers open

What's the point of cutting your nails, they are only going to grow again? What's the point of tidying the house, it's only going to get dirty again. Silly, right?

Most flowers go down in the Autumn and depending on what kind they are they will flower in Spring and/or Summer. The point is that you can get three to six months of a beautiful colourful garden. Why wouldn't you?!

As for not being able to cook for yourself, I think that's really tragic Bala. Ok, so perhaps you marry a woman who believes that's her role. What happens if she gets ill and can't cook or you divorce or god forbid she dies, who's going to cook for you then? I think it's everyone's duty to be self sufficient. Being in a marriage is a partnership but sometimes those tasks cross over. For instance, my sister in law is better at DIY than my brother, so she does all the little jobs around the house. It's about realising what your skills are and doing them because you are good at it not because it's a "male" "female" role. That's just silly.

If you tried to cook Bala you might even find out that you are good ! Maybe better than your future wife even !

Putting the effort in at one stage and then you see the rewards at the other point. Of course it's worth it. It's like school. Studying at one stage and then passing at the next, what's the point of anything?!

Well you never know. My Mam did all the cooking when we were at home, but once we all left we realised we had a flare for it. My brother, who lives in Australia, does most of the cooking in their house because A) He's good at it and B) He loves it !

You say it's looks difficult, but try it out a few times and see how you get on. Like anything, it's only difficult when you don't know how !
