Haha, that's a great picture Arielle. How are you feeling?

Arielle, I totally agree. History is there to remind us of our past mistakes, so we do not allow them to happen again. Unfortunately, I fear this will never be the case. Humans never learn from their mistakes or they use "past atrocities" to their own advantage (i.e. Bush!)

I am so wacked today. I was up doing the AR till all hours of this morning and then up early to travel into Dublin for some pretty important meetings. I don't know how I got through the day, but I did. My last meeting wasn't until 5pm which meant I didn't get home from work until 8pm ! Soooooooooooo tired. But at least I am working from home tomorrow, so no travelling.

How is everyone else?

Thanks Barb, yeh I had a good night sleep and it made work a lot easier this morning. I'm also out of the race, thankfully, as I didn't anticipate how much time would be required to do it. I think it's probably easier for people who aren't working full time !!

We are off to Australia 3 weeks from Friday. I cannot believe how fast that has come in. I'm looking forward to the warm weather. We'll have an extended summer this year !! 4 weeks in Australia and we'll be back just as summer kicks in here, heaven.

How are you feeling now?

Barb, sorry to hear you are still unwell. Here is a virtual bowl of Chicken Soup for you...

My brother is so excited about us coming over. Even though he's been there for YEARS he still gets very homesick. They come home at least once a year for about 8 weeks. That's getting harder and harder to do though. We're a very close family and see each other every day, so he is just sooooooooo far away.

Thanks Arielle, yes. I feel a little more at ease now. Going back to watching things at leisure and participating in the games when I can. Honestly, I want to be able to come on here and do what I want, I was finding that with the race, my free time was sucked up here. Not too good because it was extending way too late into the night !!

How long have you been in Israel now? How much longer will you be there?

Ah I see, you'll miss it when you go home. Are you homesick at all? I think you are great living a way for that long.

I was like that when I was learning French (I learned it in school for a few years, but then I re learned it in my job a few years back) I was always afraid to speak it to people who were fluent, but to kids you can just let it flow. I dated a French guy for a year and I'd never speak to him in French because I was afraid I'd say it totally wrong !!

*EDIT* Oh I meant to say thanks about the Avatar. I decided it was time for a change and I was feeling a bit silly, so when I found that gif I thought it was perfect !!

I love your avatar Penny, it's a great one. But it is nice to have a different one every now and again. As my Mam says "a change is as good as a rest" !!

It's funny how quickly a place, or people can make an impact on you. At least you can always say that you have lived in Israel, how many people can say that?!! (besides all of the people who live in Israel )

Have fun in Poland !!!

Barb, how are you feeling? I  hope the cold has lifted a little.

We were out last night and I have a ferocious headache this morning. I literally had 4 drinks, but I still have a headache. I normally don't even bother drinking because I really do not like having a hangover. But I can't believe after only 4 drinks I have a hangover. My tolerance of alcohol must be at ZERO or something, lol !!_

Haha, but this was low alcohol bottled beer, still made no difference!! I think I'll have to go back to having sparkling water when I am out.

That's awful Barb, you really have been through the mill this time. Just keep looking after yourself and it will eventually lift. You must have picked up the new bug because your immune system wasn't fully back to normal. Have you tried Echinacea tea? I find it really good for warding off colds/flus.

What time are you getting married at Meg? Generally here people get married at anytime from 1pm to 2pm. Then it's off to get all of the photo's taken with the bridal party. Then about 4.30/5pm you head back to the reception and dinner is normally 6pm.

I was Chief Bridesmaid at my sisters wedding. We had the speeches after dinner and I said a few words too about my sis and new brother in law !! My Dad's speech was really great and the best man's speech was so funny, everyone did a great job.

Are you going to say a few words yourself? I think if I was married I would, but I know a lot of girls don't like to say anything. My sister didn't, she left that all up to me, haha !!

Arielle, welcome back .  It's good to see our history in living colour rather than just read about it in history books. Nothing like first hand knowledge to really make it sink in. I love history (as I've mentioned before) Before the famine in Ireland we had a population of close to 9 million. After the famine it was around the 3 million mark. They estimate that half died of starvation and the other half emigrated. The population is about 4 million now, but it just goes to show the devastation it had on the country.

Hi megatan, welcome !! Yes it is fun reading about what everyone is up too. Be sure to join in, it's nice to have new members participate !!

Yes, the pre and post war stats are very frightening. The strange thing is though that if we'd have continued to support a population of 9m+ into today, we would not be as wealthy a country as we are. So, you have to wonder why these things happen.

I love the little dancing blue man

I have jet black hair so any hint of grey shows up, so I have to colour my hair now too. I don't mind though because it makes your hair really shiny !!

Hey girlies, I think you are both great for sharing this.

Barb, my brother's father in law suffered with ME for years. It came out of nowhere and knocked him for six. For 10 years he suffered very very badly. Not even able to get out of bed most days. Then one day he woke up and it was gone. When I met him I didn't believe it. Crazy. He still suffers with bad migraines every now and again, but that's about it.

That is amazing. I wonder were all of her problems hormone related? Men don't know how easy they have it

That is so true about laughter. They've proven now that people who laugh a lot and have fun are less likely to suffer with cardiovascular diseases !!

Hey all. Well it's the night before my parents 40th and I woke up with a horrible head cold today   I've a temperature and the shivers. Typical ! I'm just glad it's not next week when we are about to get on the plane !!

We went out to decorate the room where we are having the function, this evening. I just about made it through that, but the place looks great. I can't wait for it now. I just can't wait to see their faces !

Hopefully I will feel a good bit better tomorrow

Thanks Barb. I wasn't actually planning to drink tomorrow night anyway, so that's an easy one. I'm going to hit the bed now and hopefully it will improve during the night !!

I hate taking tablets. I usually have to be really bad before I'll take them, but today it was so bad I took some Sudafed for my sinus' - I felt like my face was going to explode. So yeh I guess I'm lucky I got it this week. I can't imagine having that on a long haul flight

Anyway, night all x

Thanks Girls. Yep, I feel a wee bit better this morning. No more shivers, thankfully. Just feel like I have a bad cold now, but I can cope with that. Not too much going on today for me, so I can take it easy enough and if I really need to I will take some pain killers before the party.

I can't wait to see their faces......we put pictures of them from when they got married up to today, over the years kinda thing, up on the walls. They look really great.

Oh wow, I hope they are both having a great day !! I can't wait to see some of the pictures!!

Well, the 40th party went soooooooooooo well. Really, it could not have been any better. My folks were totally gob smacked. I have never seen my Dad so quiet. They didn't know what hit them, lol.

It was a fabulous night and everyone kept coming up to us and saying what a wonderful night they were having.

We're a bit of a musical family, so there was plenty of entertainment. I even managed to sneak my Dad's guitar out of the house without him seeing, which was no mean feat and my Mam got up to sing and she hasn't done that in years. She was very brave too because my Mam doesn't drink, so she had no "dutch courage" in her. It was all off of her own back.

Unfortunately my cold played up big time. I medicated myself because there was no way I was missing that. As you know I wasn't drinking, so I hung back and waited for my folks. It was 3am before I got to bed and when I woke up this morning, my voice was gone ! Yikes. I took it easy today and plan to do the same tomorrow, so I hope I'll shake it soon. I usually get rid of these things pretty quickly, but I'm sure the late night didn't help.

Yes, I think I mentioned my brother in Oz sings. But actually all of my brothers would play instruments, but only two of them sing in bands/solo. My Dad used to play in a band up until recently, but he helps out now and again in a friends band, so he still sings. Then my sister is in a Rock/Pop band, she plays guitar and shares lead vocals with the drummer. I would sing if I was asked to (and have done in the past) but I'm not in a band or anything and neither is my other sister.

Ha, no I asked her would she sing it and she said no way, lol !!

Thanks Arielle, yep it was definitely one that we'll remember for a while yet.

Good luck with the classes today. I'm sure you are well able for the advanced Hebrew classes. See how it goes anyway and you say you can always drop down if you need to, but I say they put you there because you must be good
