The Practice Premiered on ABC on March 04, 1997

About the Show:
Set in Boston, The Practice centers on a firm of passionate attorneys to whom every case is important and every client worth a fight to the end. Legal maneuvering is the firm's modus operandi, and they have it down to a science, making even the most questionable arguments convincing. And while they can't — and don't — win every trial, the pursuit of justice remains the priority until the final verdict is announced … and sometimes afterwards. Pursuing justice, however, often confronts them with serious ethical and moral issues of conscience. The 8th and final season brings James Spader as Alan Shore, a witty lawyer who gets on everyone's nerves at the firm.

Episode 1: Pilot (Mar/04/1997)
The fate of a 17-year-old Rachel Reynolds is placed in Bobby's hands when she is tried for drug possession and faces a 15-year sentence. Bobby takes a risky approach defending her after she refuses to cop a plea. At the same time, Lindsay goes up against her former professor when her client seeks to sue a tobacco company for causing his wife's death; and Eugene and Ellenor must represent a man who repeatedly exposes himself in public.

Episode 2: Part I (Mar/11/1997)
Eugene defends a woman who is fighting to get a restraining order against her violent estranged husband; with the firm in dire financial trouble, Bobby accepts a shady loan from an old friend; and Ellenor looks for love in the personal ads.

Episode 3: Trial And Error (Mar/18/1997)
Bobby gets prepared for the civil trial against Ronald Martin, a man who brutally killed his former girlfriend; also, he intervenes when he senses obstacles as Lindsay continues to battle her former professor and the tobacco industry; and the firm gets another lawyer.

Episode 4: Part IV (Mar/25/1997)
The murder case against Ronald Martin comes to an end with startling results; and Lindsay brilliantly opens the trial against the T.L. Michaels Tobacco Company.

Episode 5: Part V (Apr/01/1997)
Bobby continues to fight the murder case of Dr. Gerald Braun and goes up against a formidable moral arbitrator Rabbi/DA Asher Silverman; Eugene goes to trial in the case against a mugger with a track record, placing side bets with the ADA and Lindsay, confident he can win the case; Ellenor finally has a date with the podiatrist with whom she's been having a phone relationship; and to Lindsay the acquisition of an expensive new conference room represents more than just a new piece of furniture.

Episode 6: Part VI (Apr/08/1997)
Bobby concludes the highly publicized trial of Gerald Braun, arguing that his crime was "morally justifiable"; and Eugene represents a 19-year-old accused of raping his 14-year-old girlfriend.

Bobby and Ellenor are undermined by a fast-talking pathological liar (John Larroquette) who is involved in a murderous, homosexual love-triangle; and Jimmy's reputation is on the line when he gets picked up for solicitation.

Episode 3: The Blessing (Sep/27/1997)
Bobby and ADA Helen Gamble face each other and their respective painful pasts in an assisted suicide trial; and with Eugene's help, Lindsay goes toe-to-toe with her ex-boyfriend, Chris Kelton, to defend an aged bookied.

Episode 4: Dog Bite (Oct/04/1997)
When Ellenor and Lindsay defend Kenny the pimp, Lindsay is approached by a jury member, which may jeopardize the outcome of their case; Eugene strikes another bet with ADA Williams boasting that - despite an eyewitness - he'll exonerate his one-legged thief of a client; and Berluti pushes the envelope to get a huge settlement for a nine-year-old girl bitten by a rottweiler.

Episode 5: First Degree (1) (Oct/11/1997)
Bobby serves as co-counsel with his former lover in a murder case; Eugene defends a cop who believes the job has turned him into a racist; Ellenor and Lindsay fight their suspension; and Jimmy has an erotic dream about one of his co-workers.

Episode 6: Sex, Lies and Monkeys (2) (Oct/18/1997)
Lindsay is slipped the date-rape drug by her occasional boyfriend; Ellenor gets sued for causing emotional stress to George Vogelman, the podiatrist she romantically rejected; Berluti goes to trial to defend a man who lost his job because he looks like a monkey; and Bobby tries to right some wrongs in the sentencing of an innocent woman.

Episode 7: Search and Seizure (Oct/25/1997)
Helen Gamble makes a pass at an unsuspecting Bobby during a Halloween party; Lindsay puts yet another drug dealer back on the streets; and Eugene and Ellenor represent Rebecca's friend, who seeks a court-ordered injunction to force his wife to have a C-section.

Episode 8: The Means (Nov/08/1997)
Out of desperation and against Eugene's advice, Bobby plays the race card in the case against Aaron Wilton, a black man accused of manslaughter during a riot; and Ellenor represents her obnoxious cousin, who is suing her travel agent for ruining her honeymoon.

Episode 9: Save the Mule (Nov/15/1997)
Lindsay draws the line at representing drug-runners when a client almost dies during a bust; Jimmy comes to the rescue of a community stricken with cancer; and Bobby ends a secret romance when things with Helen Gamble begin to heat up.

Episode 10: Spirit of America (Nov/22/1997)
Bobby and the firm are called in by the Capital Defenders Project to keep convicted murderer Randy Jefferson from facing death by lethal injection. The frantic process of trying to prevent his execution is caught on tape by a documentary crew.

Episode 11: Hide and Seek (Nov/29/1997)
Raymond Oz (James Whitmore), the legendary attorney and Bobby's former mentor, asks Bobby to second-chair a high profile case when he fears his occasional memory lapses might cause problems during trial; Eugene's career choices come to a head when he defends a repeat offender who has sodomized and brutally murdered two young boys; and Berluti's teenage fantasies come true when the female celebrity sex symbol from his childhood seeks his legal counsel.

Episode 12: Race with the Devil (Dec/13/1997)
When Bobby's priest performs an exorcism on a parishioner, who dies during the procedure, Bobby must manipulate the system to shield Father Martin from murder charges; Eugene represents Martin Parks in a bizarre malpractice suit; and Berluti - coming off his first victory - tapes a commercial to try to drum up additional business.

Episode 13: The Civil Right (Dec/20/1997)
When Berluti learns his mother is gay and wants to marry another woman, he must put aside his prejudices and help her battle the judicial system to find happiness. Meanwhile, Eugene and Ellenor defend a repeat-offender rapist in his criminal trial.

Episode 14: The Pursuit of Dignity (Jan/03/1998)
Bobby reconnects with an old girlfriend who needs his help after she is arrested for prostitution; Ellenor and Rebecca fight to keep a 12-year-old girl with Tourette's syndrome in school; and Lindsay defends a woman who is suing her doctor for sewing live maggots into her leg to prevent post-surgical infection.

Episode 15: Line of Duty (Jan/05/1998)
During a night of passion with Helen Gamble, Bobby overhears plans of a police raid on his drug-dealing client, John Isikoff. Obligated to warn off Isikoff, Bobby faces charges of reckless homicide when the bust goes terribly wrong and three officers are killed.

Episode 16: Truth and Consequences (Jan/12/1998)
When Rebecca witnesses a murder and picks out the killer in a lineup, her life is threatened by his gang-banging brother. Meanwhile, Jimmy and Ellenor - with the help of Lindsay - take the next precarious step in the case against Boston's biggest electric company.

Episode 17: Burden of Proof (Jan/19/1998)
With a clearly mapped-out strategy and some risky negotiating tactics, Berluti sets out on the trial of his life, hoping to prove that Boston power lines gave his clients cancer.

Episode 18: Ties that Bind (Feb/02/1998)
Ellenor and Lindsay defend a hardcore porn star accused of killing her husband/co-star; and Helen finds out about one of Bobby's past lovers.

Bobby and Helen butt heads and send their relationship into a a tailspin when neither will back down from a high-profile murder case. And Eugene defends Rebecca's irascible uncle who is being sued by the government for tax evasion.

Bobby and the whole firm use every trick in the book to keep Helen Gamble and the DA's office from putting murderer Dr. Jeffrey Winslow in prison for life.

Rebecca is the only witness to the murder of a gas station attendant, but a tough defense lawyer raises doubts about who and what she saw. Meanwhile, Ellenor defends a petty purse snatcher who has become a political pawn.

Episode 22: Another Day (Mar/09/1998)
One of Bobby's most flamboyant clients, Joey Heric (John Laroquette), has murdered a second lover, only this time Joey chooses to defend himself and Helen has been assigned to prosecute him.

Helen Gamble knows she must not rely on evidence, but outsmart Joey Heric if she is to send him to jail.

Episode 24: Trees in the Forest (Mar/30/1998)
Lindsay throws the entire firm into turmoil when she demands to be made partner, but it's her personal confession that really catches Bobby off guard.

Ellenor fights to save a highly intelligent chimpanzee from deadly medical testing; Helen, Jimmy, and Rebecca set up a sting to expose an insurance fraud ring.

When one of their business clients is accused of a gruesome and bizarre murder, Ally McBeal (Calista Flockhart) and Billy Thomas (Gil Bellows) enlist the help of Bobby, his team and their expertise in criminal defense.

Episode 27: Duty Bound (May/04/1998)
A dead teenager has been found in the office of Jimmy's family priest. All evidence points to Father Ryan; but as Jimmy gets close to unveiling the real killer, he is shot at close range in the church parking lot, leaving his colleagues to pray for his recovery and find the gunman.

Episode 28: Rhyme and Reason (May/11/1998)
When a seemingly good 13-year-old kid shoots and kills his mother, Bobby is called in to defend him. Helen asks the judge to try him as an adult.

Episode 1: Passing Go (Sep/27/1998)
An anxiously anticipated letter reveals how Rebecca has been secretly spending her after-work hours. Lindsay announces that the newly decorated conference room is at last reached completion, but Bobby fails to share her enthusiasm. Uncertain of becoming the sort of blue-chip lawyer he has long held in disdain, Bobby seeks the approval of the one person whose opinion maters - his father (Charles Durning).

Episode 2: Reasons to Believe (Oct/04/1998)
When her former professor, Anderson Pearson, is arrested for murder he calls on Lindsay to defend him. Helen and Lindsay move in together. Rebecca tries her first case.

Episode 3: Body Count (Oct/11/1998)
Lindsay and Bobby continue to defend her former law professor as the evidence mounts against him; Rebecca is asked to defend a man with a very unusual hobby; and Ellenor has a client with a giant headache.

Episode 4: The Defenders (Oct/18/1998)
Bobby and Lindsay hear the verdict in the Anderson Pearson murder trial. Meanwhile, Ellenor faces mounting evidence against the doctor who found his one-night stand's head in his medical bag.

Episode 5: The Battlefield (Oct/25/1998)
Lindsay refuses to accept defeat in the Pearson case and begins a desperate attempt at an appeal; Ellenor - also desperate - continues to search for any piece of evidence to save accused murderer and decapitator George; and Jimmy must face some truths about himself when he elects to defend an accused bigot.

The trial of accused murderer and decapitator George Vogelman comes to its shocking conclusion.

Bobby makes a controversial decision when he selects the lawyer to first chair against Tommy Silva; and accused baby-killer Evelyn Mayfield (Kathy Baker) hears her verdict.

Tension runs high as Rebecca defends a client accused of murdering her mother; and Lindsay and Bobby begin personal debate over a wedding dress.

Episode 7: Victimless Crimes (Nov/14/1999)
Jimmy defends a rape victim accused of killing her attacker, but he's shocked ate her reaction to his efforts to help; and when Lucy thinks she's been victimized by her dentist, the whole firm is astonished to see Bobby come to the doctor's defense.

Episode 8: Committed (Nov/21/1999)
Lindsay must face her fears about whether a killer can be truly reformed when she is assigned to represent notorious serial killer Walter Arens (Richard Thomas, The Waltons), who is petitioning for release from a psychiatric hospital.

Episode 9: Bay of Pigs (Nov/28/1999)
Jimmy comes to the aid of a former flame, who sells her eggs over the Internet; and under the guise of defending a client, Ellenor comes on strong when she cross-examines a witness lying in a hospital bed with a failing heart.

Episode 10: Day in Court (Dec/12/1999)
Fighting their own distaste for the legal system and their role in it, Bobby and Eugene defend a notorious drug dealer accused of murder. A contemptible trial ensues, involving the personal ruin of a witness (Ed Begley Jr.) and violence erupting in the courtroom.

Episode 11: Blowing Smoke (Jan/09/2000)
Lindsay takes on another tobacco company - this time it's a cigar maker she accuses of destroying a marriage; and Rebecca defends a childhood friend accused of murder, and discovers his very dark side.

Episode 12: New Evidence (1) (Jan/30/2000)
With seemingly little reason, Lindsay heads to Los Angeles to defend a man with whom she is friendly, but hardly friends, accused of murdering a woman he claims to have never actually met. Bobby, Jimmy, Ellenor and even Lucy reluctantly follow to assist, but find the reception from the defendant's family, the cops, the prosecutor and the judge to be chillier than winter in Boston.

Episode 13: Hammerhead Sharks (2) (Feb/06/2000)
The trial of accused murderer Dennis Mills begins, with Bobby, Jimmy, Lindsay, and Ellenor fiercely questioning witnesses in an all-out effort to create doubt. But none of their strategic planning has prepared them for this case's shocking conclusion.

Episode 14: Checkmates (Feb/13/2000)
Helen faces the prospect of losing a case to Bobby and Eugene on a technicality; while Ellenor defends a young man accused of murder, who she believes is mentally incompetent ADA Richard Bay sees an easy conviction as he and Ellenor do battle, but the client has a few surprises for both of them.

Episode 15: Race Ipsa Loquitor (Feb/20/2000)
Jimmy is desperate to free his innocent friend, Dr. Henry Olson (Henry Winkler), and ADA Richard Bay is desperate to improve his conviction rate, but the deal they strike may destroy them both. Meanwhile, Eugene and Rebecca represent a client in a malpractice case, but find themselves on the defense.

Episode 16: Settling (Mar/12/2000)
Released from prison after serving a 12-year sentence for a murder he insists he didn't commit, former client Patrick Rooney (Donnie Wahlberg) threatens violent revenge against Bobby. Prior to learning that Bobby is in serious danger, Lindsay and Helen inspect wedding invitations with the help of a stationary store owner (Rosie O'Donnell), whose manner is anything but inviting.

Episode 17: Black Widows (Apr/02/2000)
Bobby and Eugene defend Courtney Hanson (Victoria Principal), a beautiful woman accused of murdering her much older, third husband by "over-stimulating" his weak heart. Meanwhile, Helen uses questionable tactics to secure a confession from a 15-year-old accused of infanticide.

Episode 18: Death Penalties (Apr/09/2000)
When a man shoots his terminally ill wife, Bobby and Helen passionately clash in court: is it mercy or murder? And Ellenor hits the road again, this time to Philadelphia to try to save a man from death row.

Episode 19: Till Death Do Us Part (1) (Apr/30/2000)
Ellenor leads Eugene and Lucy in the charge on the Philadelphia courts in an effort to allow a new DNA test that may save Stuart Donovan from death row; and Rebecca takes on the case of an elderly couple trying to prevent the wife's daughter from forcing an annulment of their marriage.

Episode 20: Liberty Bells (2) (May/07/2000)
Shocking new evidence allows Ellenor to make a last argument for Stuart Donovan's innocence, but if she fails, he faces execution by lethal injection. Meanwhile, back in Boston, Bobby and Lindsay battle over wedding plans and the true meaning of marriage.

Episode 21: The Honorable Man (May/14/2000)
Eugene faces his professional demons when he is court-appointed to defend a particularly despicable client accused of rape and murder; and Jimmy agrees to defend a friend being sued by a former employee afflicted with AIDS.

Episode 22: Life Sentence (May/21/2000)
Weary of all his complaints about the details of organizing a large, formal wedding, Lindsay makes alternative plans to get Bobby to the altar. And it's a tense courtroom battle as Ellenor defends a tragedy-torn deaf woman (Marlee Matlin) against ADA Richard Bay, who needs a conviction to save his job.

Bobby defends prominent investment banker and close friend Scott Wallace (Bruce Davison) who is accused of murdering his wife after a heated argument; while Ellenor and Lindsay represent a couple who claim their children developed neurological defects from playing on a swing set treated with a toxic chemical.

Episode 2: Germ Warfare (Oct/15/2000)
Bobby looks everywhere for new evidence that might help overturn the guilty verdict against his close friend, Scott Wallace, while Ellenor and Lindsay try to convince a jury that the EPA is responsible for the Jamison children's illnesses.

Episode 3: Officers of the Court (Oct/22/2000)
Feeling she was blackmailed in the Jamison v. the EPA case, Ellenor takes a major risk - both for herself and the entire firm - by filing a formal complaint against the judge. Meanwhile, Jimmy's attempt to help his drug-addicted client leads him to make a dubious deal with the D.A.

Episode 4: Appeal and Denial (Oct/29/2000)
A plaintiff surprises everyone by recanting a seemingly solid accusation. Back at the office, Lucy prompts the revelation of a much different kind of surprise.

Episode 5: We Hold These Truths... (Nov/05/2000)
Bobby works overtime to prepare for Scott Wallace's trial. Eugene is assigned to a seemingly guilty defendant, while Jimmy gets in trouble for speaking his mind to a judge with a ridiculous habit of lecturing defendants in court.

Episode 6: Show and Tell (Nov/12/2000)
Scott Wallace goes to court a second time, seeking to overturn his conviction for murdering his wife. This episode is shot in the style of a television documentary, featuring candid interviews with the major players.

Episode 7: Brothers' Keepers (Nov/19/2000)
Bobby defends a Pakistani man, living in the U.S., who's accused of commissioning his brother to murder his adulterous wife. Meanwhile, Ellenor shocks the firm when she announces that she is pregnant.

Episode 8: Mr. Hinks Goes to Town (Nov/26/2000)
Lindsay defends a serial killer who claims that he is guilty. A psychologist, however, believes that the man is delusional, and only confessed to get attention.

Episode 9: The Deal (Dec/10/2000)
A client of Bobby's admits that he has information about the high-profile kidnapping of a wealthy little girl. Meanwhile, both William Hinks and Scott Wallace return seeking resolution.

Episode 10: Friends and Ex-Lovers (Dec/17/2000)

Episode 12: Payback (Jan/14/2001)
Bobby is arrested for conspiring to murder serial killer William Hinks. The entire firm, with Eugene at the helm, must now rally to defend him. Meanwhile, Rebecca discovers foul play in the wrongful death suit of a friend's husband.

Episode 13: The Thin Line (Feb/04/2001)
Tensions at the firm are at an all-time high when Bobby is tried for the murder of William Hinks. Bobby is acquitted, though there is little to celebrate when a mysterious cassette recorder is sent to the office. Lucy and Rebecca hear Hinks' voice on the recorder, just before it triggers an explosion.

Episode 14: The Day After (Feb/11/2001)
Unconscious and in critical need of blood, Rebecca's fate is left to a higher power when her mother refuses to allow a transfusion because of the family's religious beliefs. Bobby is awestruck when Lindsay gives birth to their son a month early.

Episode 15: Awakenings (Feb/18/2001)
Ellenor's chosen "sperm donor," Michael Hale (Ted McGinley), has second thoughts about the agreement over the rearing of her soon-to-be-born child. Meanwhile, Rebecca emerges from the I.C.U. and gets lost in the hospital. Additionally, Helen prepares to prosecute the rape of an eleven-year-old girl.

Bobby and Jimmy employ the firm's notorious " Plan B" strategy in a last-ditch effort to save a client accused of raping and murdering his teen-aged stepdaughter. Bobby makes a case that the client's wife is actually the murderer, and the accused client is declared not guilty. Meanwhile, Ellenor goes into labor with only a panicky Helen Gamble there to assist her.

Episode 18: The Confession (Apr/01/2001)
Helen Gamble uses trickery to coerce a confession from an alleged carjacker represented by Jimmy Berluti. While Gamble feels that her means were legal and necessary to get a dangerous man off the streets, Berluti and Eugene disagree and ask a federal judge to rule the confession inadmissible, a decision that would set the carjacker free.

Episode 19: Home of the Brave (Apr/22/2001)
Lindsay presses Richard Bay to explain a questionable arrest of her client, who is an illegal alien. She ultimately discovers that the police planted drugs on her client, in order to force him to testify in a murder trial. The client refuses to testify, as the murderer is his own brother, and allows himself to be deported to Colombia. Meanwhile, Lucy's actions as a rape counselor are called into question during a date rape trial.

Episode 20: The Case of Harland Bassett (Apr/29/2001)
Eugene and Jimmy agree to help the mistake-prone Harland Bassett (Ernie Sabella) in the case of a young girl who developed liver damage from an antibiotic. With the odds stacked against them, the trio take on a politically-tied, deep-pocketed drug manufacturer.

Episode 21: Poor Richard's Almanac (May/06/2001)
Bobby and Ellenor defend Doug Cahill, a ruthless drug dealer, who is being prosecuted for murder by Helen Gamble and Richard Bay. Bobby and Ellenor suspect that their client is guilty, especially after Richard is attacked outside of his own home. The attacker tells Bay to deliberately lose the case, and threatens him with a gun. Richard refuses to back down, and wins a guilty verdict. As the episode closes, Richard is shot while starting his car, and left for dead.

Episode 22: Public Servants (May/13/2001)
On the season finale, Helen seeks vengeance for Richard Bay's murder, and Bobby questions his role in the death. Meanwhile, Jimmy and Rebecca are defending an apparently innocent murder suspect when they discover that he was once acquitted for a similar murder.

Episode 1: Privilege (Sep/29/2002)
In continuation of last season's finale, the season premiere of The Practice finds Lindsay behind bars and Eugene making an impassioned plea for her appeal. Meanwhile, Jimmy is approached by a woman who claims to have kidnapped her "daughter" sixteen years ago. The woman asks Jimmy to get word to the girl's birth mother that the girl is ok after all these years, but not to reveal her identity as the kidnapper. And Jaime Stringer, fresh out of law school, meets some resistance in her effort to join the firm as a new associate.

Episode 2: Convictions (Oct/06/2002)
Rebecca argues Lindsay's appeal in front of the Supreme Judicial Court, where the stakes could not be higher. Meanwhile Jimmy, with newcomer Jamie as back-up, defends Bernice White who stands accused of kidnapping; even though his actions led to her arrest — and she has confessed — Jimmy knows who the real kidnapper is.

Episode 3: Of Thee I Sing (Oct/13/2002)
It comes to light that D.A. Kenneth Walsh may have intentionally suppressed specific evidence in Lindsay's first trial — which ended in a conviction that was set aside by the Supreme Judicial Court. The evidence, which was sent anonymously to the firm, is vital in the preparation of a new defense for Lindsay. Meanwhile, enthusiastic new associate Jamie Stringer may be taking on more than she can handle in her first case, defending a man who is charged with lewd and lascivious behavior.

It centered on Winslow High School, a fictional public high school located in Boston, Massachusetts. The show was named for the real public school district in which it takes place. It featured a large ensemble cast and focused on the work and private lives of the various teachers, students, and administrators at the school. It aired from October 2000 to January 2004. Episode 1: Chapter One (Oct/23/2000)
Another school year is off to a booming start at Winslow High School – an urban high school outside of Boston. Principal Steven Harper spends his days putting out fires, defending his faculty and just trying to keep it together. Lauren Davis, the idealistic head of the social studies department, and Harry Senate, a geology teacher with buried secrets, are embroiled in controversy for failing the star running back before a huge game with the cross-town rivals. But they both have bigger personal problems. Lauren has been asked out on a date by the icy vice principal and Harry has been put on probation for wielding a gun in one of his classes. When he's not dodging the star running back's lawyer or pulling a bully off the class geek, Principal Harper is trying to calm Ms. Hendricks. She left her class after scrawling "Gone to kill myself, hope you're happy" on the chalkboard. Meanwhile, English teacher Milton Buttle has become the star attraction on student Sheryl Holt's website. His unflattering, animated portrayal has made Buttle the butt of everyone's jokes. And let's not forget dear old Mr. Lipschultz. The 80-year-old American history teacher kicked popular Dana Poole out of class for not wearing a bra.

Episode 2: Chapter Two (Oct/30/2000)
Last week's bra protest has resulted in school unity. All the girls have decided to go bra-less in a show of solidarity with Dana Poole. The superintendent is breathing down Harper's neck because Lauren has rallied a few of the other teachers and they all refuse to get fingerprinted. Also, Marla, who is supposed to be on medical leave, has shown up for work, and Lipschultz, the man behind the bra debacle, has shown up on Sheryl Holt's infamous website – in a bra and panties! Meanwhile, Vice Principal Guber tries to regain control by meeting with Dana Poole. He suspects that she's high, so he wants a urine sample. She protests and bolts straight to Harry.

Episode 3: Chapter Three (Nov/06/2000)
Principal Harper's job is in jeopardy and an impending school board meeting has him on edge. Still, he can't help but get involved when Anthony Ward is found hanging upside down from the roof. It turns out the entire soccer team has ganged up on little Anthony since he thwarted their attempts to download answers for a test. Harper's decision to suspend the entire team, and thereby forfeit the soccer season, only adds fuel to Superintendent Marla Shinn's fire. Meanwhile, Harry Senate confesses to kissing Dana Poole and explains her blackmail scheme. Guber sends a shocked Dana to Bob "Big Boy" Lick for counseling but Harper does not suspend Senate. Coach Riley, on the other hand, is dealing with a football team who has marked one of their teammates as gay and will not shower with him. Plus, Lauren is left to defend herself when Superintendent Shinn questions the topic of cannibalism being taught in Lauren's classroom. At the school board meeting, things come to a head when all of the faculty's – and Principal Harper's – indiscretions are exposed. Surprisingly, an impassioned speech by Marla Hendricks puts everything into perspective, and even manages to silence Superintendent Shinn. At least, temporarily.

Episode 4: Chapter Four (Nov/13/2000)
Rehearsals are in full swing for the annual charity show. Marilyn is dismayed to learn that the main skit the students have prepared is a spoof of the Winslow High faculty – complete with a gun-toting Senate and Buttle stuck inside a donkey! Elsewhere on campus, Lauren enters a stairwell and catches two student body presidential candidates engaged in a sex act. Lauren confronts the students – Peter and Susan – who deny any wrongdoing. However, when Peter later drops out of the election, it becomes clear that Susan's sexual favor was a motivating factor. On top of all this, Lauren must also deal with John LeBlonde. John's an excellent student on the recently suspended soccer team and needs Harper's approval to apply for a prestigious academic award.

Episode 5: Chapter Five (Nov/20/2000)
It's Thanksgiving week, but no one seems particularly grateful. Guber, for example, is still upset over his onstage serenade at the charity show. Football player Jason Harrelson broke bully Malcolm White's arm during a fight in the hall. Buttle is starring in yet another Sheryl Holt original online humiliation cartoon. Last, but not least, Lauren discovered a senior sex posse which awards senior guys points for sex. In response to the sex posse scandal, Principal Harper organizes a sophomore assembly to preach the benefits of chastity. The teachers draw straws, and Lipschultz is chosen to head up the event. Later at the assembly, Lipschultz' boring speech turns shocking when he confesses to catching his beloved late wife in bed with another man.

Episode 6: Chapter Six (Nov/27/2000)
A popular and beloved teacher, Mr. McMahon, has a heart attack and dies at school. A close friend of the deceased, Principal Harper overcomes his own grief to help his students cope with the loss. To make matters worse, it appears that McMahon had been having an affair with a female senior, Karen Fitzgerald. While Harper struggles to deal with the incident's aftermath and maintain status quo, the students and faculty begin to fall apart. A defiant pupil, Webster, spits on Lauren and she vows to have him expelled. The case becomes more complex, however, when Harper learns that Webster was close to Mr. McMahon and is extremely upset over his death.

Episode 7: Chapter Seven (Dec/04/2000)
Life seems to be one big lawsuit for Principal Harper. First, Mrs. Walsh, who was fired for spanking her students, sues for wrongful termination. Then, after Harper suspends Sheryl Holt for offensive content on her website, she sues to get the suspension overturned. Lauren gets knocked out by a launched breast implant. While Marylin counsels the girl on her self-image, Lauren decides to let the boyfriend off the hook. In court, Lipschultz's testimony – on both the Holt and Walsh cases – is disastrous and results in two losses for the school.

Episode 8: Chapter Eight (Dec/11/2000)
Buttle meets a beautiful girl, Lisa, who shares his love of Shakespeare. Back at Winslow High, Senate learns that Juan Figgis' mother has been convicted on drug charges and is going to prison. Meanwhile, Lipschultz collapses in class and is rushed to the hospital.

Episode 9: Chapter Nine (Jan/08/2001)
The first day back at school has barely begun when the police show up looking for a murder suspect. A botched robbery has gone down a few blocks away and the panicked assailant, wearing a Winslow High letterman's jacket, shot and killed a man before heading towards school grounds.

Episode 10: Chapter Ten (Jan/15/2001)
Sheryl Holt breaks the news about Milton and Lisa's secret affair on her website. Suspicious, Harper confronts Buttle about his sexual involvement, but Milton disavows any wrongdoing, claiming that he and Lisa have started a "Shakespeare Club." However, Riley has his hands full with another explosive situation – an anonymous bully has severely beaten three male students. Meanwhile, Marylin suspects that a girl in her class is a victim of incest when the student writes a "fictional" essay about her father molesting her. In the middle of this crisis, Guber asks Lipschultz to resign after accusing him of being a racist.

Episode 11: Chapter Eleven (Jan/22/2001)
Coach Riley has a serious crush on Marylin Sudor but is nervous about asking her out due to their racial differences. Meanwhile, Harper is concerned about the cheerleading squad. They have been rehearsing for an important competition, but their new routine is extremely sexual. The choreographer argues that it's impossible to tone down the program, so Harper cancels the meet. Regardless of the consequences, Lisa and Buttle continue to tempt fate and continue their heated affair, and in an effort to help his kids discuss their feelings, Senate forms a "Suicide Club," which outrages parents and faculty alike.

Episode 12: Chapter Twelve (Feb/05/2001)
As Senate approaches the school grounds, he saves a student from being attacked by gang members. After numerous attempts, Harry finally manages to get the boy to reveal that he is a member of the Crips. Meanwhile, Harper grows even more suspicious about Lisa and Buttle's deepening friendship, so Guber takes the reins and alerts Lisa's parents about their daughter's rumored affair. In the midst of these crises, Lauren has her hands full trying to help an overweight female wrestler, Christine, cope with the loss of her boyfriend.

Episode 13: Chapter Thirteen (Feb/12/2001)
When Coach Riley is fired for withholding information about Buttle's affair, he hires the best attorneys in Boston – Ellenor Frutt and Jimmy Berluti. Ellenor immediately begins subpoenaing witnesses, sending a message to Winslow High that she means business. Meanwhile, Lauren discovers that Harry had dated another co-worker, Jenna, before her. Disturbed that Harry would have a relationship with a woman Lauren deems unsavory, she becomes concerned about her own relationship with Senate.

Episode 14: Chapter Fourteen (Feb/19/2001)
Lauren finds Harry hasn't told his friend about her. Six teachers resign and Marla must teach a class she doesn't know how to. Scott wins a contest to be a guest conductor and asks Marilyn out when she is too nice to him. Steven and Harry look for a missing teacher.

Episode 15: Chapter Fifteen (Feb/26/2001)
Harry advises Tyronn to leave town when he is shot at. Harvey sends Scott on a two-hour drive for a non-existing conducting opportunity. A student accuses the cheerleading teacher of touching her in inappropriate ways.

Episode 16: Chapter Sixteen (Mar/26/2001)
Security tapes of the girls' shower room are missing... with footage of Lauren on them. Marla sends her entire class to the principal's office. Anthony's hit list is found. Lauren and Harry break up.

Episode 17: Chapter Seventeen (Apr/16/2001)
A student's mother complains about bus fumes to Steven. The tape of Lauren showering ends up on Sheryl Holt's website. Harry gets in trouble for knowing Tyronn was a murderer. Scott becomes Lisa Grier's co-teacher for her Shakespeare class.

Episode 18: Chapter Eighteen (Apr/23/2001)
Scott fires an art teacher twice. Christine Banks dies of a heart attack after winning a wrestling match. Harry finds out Dana Poole has become a stripper. Marla insults janitors and she finds one of her student's father is a janitor.

Episode 19: Chapter Nineteen (Apr/30/2001)
While heading to work, Lauren's car breaks downs. She gets so frustrated with it that she starts jumping up and down on it and smashing the windows with a baseball bat. Suddenly, an old student of hers appears named Daniel Evans who thanks her for changing his life. He shows her a history text book he has written and she is very impressed. He asks her out for a drink, and she immediately says yes. After, they head to her place and have a night of passion. The next day she tells Marilyn, who finds it a little immoral. Lauren cannot get past how great the sex was. Lauren admits she finds it a total turn on when Daniel calls her Ms. Davis.

Episode 20: Chapter Twenty (May/07/2001)
Lauren continues her relationship with Daniel. Marilyn finds out that Jeremy's mother is locking her son in the basement for punishment. Steven can't date a student's mother. Kevin punches an opponent in a debate.

Episode 21: Chapter Twenty-One (May/14/2001)
Steven's remarks prevent Scott from getting a job as a headmaster. Lauren finds out Daniel is stalking her. Marla worries when a convicted sex offender asks a younger girl to the senior prom. Marilyn suspects Jeremy has done something to his mother.

Episode 22: Chapter Twenty-Two (May/21/2001)
Lauren gets a gun to protect herself from Daniel. Jeremy won't tell Marilyn what happened to his mother. Marla gives Winslow High's first student to get accepted to Harvard an F.

Episode 1: Chapter Twenty-Three (Oct/29/2001)
A wealthy attorney decides to become a teacher at the school—quickly stirring things up between her fellow teachers and the students. Meanwhile, Lipshultz gets into trouble after giving a student the wrong name and Marla is enlisted to sponsor a club of female students, which causes her to examine her own insecurity.

Episode 2: Chapter Twenty-Four (Nov/05/2001)
Ronnie's career at Winslow High gets off to a precarious start when Guber sees her in a compromising position. Meanwhile, Lauren tries to help a straight-A student get into Princeton, but Harper wants to transfer the student to a continuation school because she is pregnant. Also Mrs. Peters, looking very different, volunteers as a teacher's assistant at Winslow.

Episode 3: Chapter Twenty-Five (Nov/12/2001)
Senate is outraged when he learns that one of his prized students was admitted to Williams College because he bought his college application essay over the Internet. Also, Lipschultz calls a student a derogatory term and new teacher Danny Hanson wants him held accountable, but Harper refuses. Hanson goes to Ronnie for legal help, and his class decides to sue Lipschultz in court for defamation of character.

Episode 4: Chapter Twenty-Six (Nov/19/2001)
Harper's headstrong daughter Brooke enrolls at Winslow High after she is kicked out of private school. Meanwhile, when Ronnie is disappointed that her class is not learning Shakespeare, her ex-suitor Matthew Baskin, who continues to pursue her, offers a unique way to reach her and her students.

Episode 5: Chapter Twenty-Seven (Nov/26/2001)
Hanson is arrested after a domestic dispute, causing Harper to seriously consider firing him. Lauren is skeptical when a student decides to drop out because a record company wants to sign her, and Harper is livid when he discovers that someone close to him has been anonymously dispensing sex advice in the student newspaper.

Episode 6: Chapter Twenty-Eight (Dec/03/2001)
A statutory-rape case entangles Ronnie with the enraged parents of the 15-year-old victim; an illicit-drug situation embroils Harper with his unsettled daughter.

Episode 7: Chapter Twenty-Nine (Dec/10/2001)
Tidings of comfort and joy gladden this Christmas episode, which, true to the series, also has its share of heartaches and crises. The main storyline centers on the holiday hopes of principal Harper's teenage daughter, Brooke, who is anxious for a reconciliation between her divorced mom and dad. In other developments, Guber and Mrs. Peters shop together for a special Christmas present; Marylin, Marla and Louisa form a musical trio at the school pageant; and Senate gets caught up in the plight of a sensitive youth who he thinks may be suicidal.

Episode 8: Chapter Thirty (Jan/07/2002)
A revelation concerning Jeremy fractures the relationship between his mother and Guber; a plea from a death-row inmate troubles Harper; a student's ADD affliction disquiets Ronnie.

Episode 9: Chapter Thirty-One (Jan/14/2002)
Tensions escalate among Meredith, Jeremy and Guber, who seek family counseling; controversy swirls around a student's class-project photo and a speech by Lipschultz.

Episode 10: Chapter Thirty-Two (Jan/21/2002)
Lauren asks Guber to go to a concert with her on the night of his three months celebration with Meredith and he accepts. Which causes Meredith to be extremely angry. Danny is having problems with religion in school. One of Ronnie's students attempts suicide and is pregnant because of a sex crime after she is impregnated for the purpose of having the child for her parents. Harvey moves onto the state finals with his speech and places in the top three.

Episode 11: Chapter Thirty-Three (Jan/28/2002)
Ronnie and Danny discover that Brooke is dating a 27 year old man and report it to Steven. Steven is outraged at this discovery and demands Brooke stop seeing him. She disagrees at first but the next morning, her boyfriend Rupert reports to Steven that the two have broken up. Brooke later debates leaving Winslow High but Steven convinces her not to. After Harry getting sick of his students being considered dumb, he challenges Guber to a debate in preparation for a big upcoming debate for Scott's debate team. He accepts and the two teams practice to no end. When it comes debate time, both teams deliver but Scott's team comes out victorious but only by three points.

Episode 12: Chapter Thirty-Five (Feb/04/2002)
The faculty decide to have a staff talent show to lighten the mood at Winslow. Lipschultz asks Ronnie to sing a duet with him at the talent show but she convinces him that Marylin is just waiting to be asked. Meanwhile Danny befriends one of his cerebral palsy kids and arranges for him to attend Winslow. The mood is severely challenged when a student finds a notebook with plans for a bombing and shooting spree at Winslow.

Episode 13: Chapter Thirty-Six (Feb/11/2002)
A student's illness rattles Senate, who is haunted by feelings of futility; a teen's eating disorder upsets Lauren, who is also unnerved by a website advocating anorexia.

Episode 14: Chapter Thirty-Four (Feb/18/2002)
Seven teenagers, including Zack, are killed in a drunk driving accident and the students and teachers, both, must face their grief. Ronnie takes it especially hard having been close with Zack. Brooke's best friend was also killed in the accident. Meanwhile, Harvey tries to convince the students that he was George Washington in a previous life.

Episode 15: Chapter Thirty-Seven (Feb/25/2002)
Controversy swirls at Winslow over a reviled racial epithet, which becomes a heated subject of debate in a class taught by the provocative Danny Hanson, who fans the flames by alleging a double standard. "Clearly," he tells his students, "people seem OK with Chris Rock using the word...But if Garry Shandling did...you'd all be sick." Word gets to Harper, who calls upon Hanson to cease the discussion because "the word stirs up too much hate." But when the teacher persists, the principal trumps him. "Do you think you understand nigger, Danny? Do you think you really get it?"

Episode 16: Chapter Thirty-Eight (Mar/11/2002)
Mikki, an 18-year-old Winslow student, tricks Harper and the administration into allowing Just Eighteen, a racy Maxim-like magazine to come to the school to shoot provocative photos of her. Ronnie, who stumbles upon the shoot, pleads with Mikki not to pose for the magazine, saying it is a decision she will regret for the rest of her life. Meanwhile, back at school, a student approaches Guber with information that Meredith hit her with her prosthesis during an argument. Also at the school, one of Lauren's students has an emotional break-down. The breakdown was apparently brought on by stress, caused from Lauren pushing too hard.

Episode 17: Chapter Thirty-Nine (Mar/18/2002)
Ronnie catches a student performing a crime; two female students tell Marylin about their sexual conversations online with an older man.

Episode 18: Chapter Forty (Apr/22/2002)
Dana Poole returns to Winslow High as a mature, sexy, college freshman looking to spend time with Senate for a class project. Meanwhile, Lipschultz gets a visit from a 58-year-old man who says he's his son, and Hanson is accused of giving special treatment to Debbie.

Episode 19: Chapter Forty-One (Apr/29/2002)
Ronnie puts together a surprise birthday party for Senate but her good intentions quickly turns into chaos when all the guests resort to bickering and nitpicking at each other. Among the sparks at the party, Lipschultz snoops into Harper's briefcase and reveals his application for headmaster at an opposing school, while Lauren and Scott grow closer together as she has her own issues after being called a perfectionist.

Episode 20: Chapter Forty-Two (May/06/2002)
As the prom approaches, female students outrage the faculty when they auction themselves as dates, while Harper deals with angry students who oppose his allowing a transgendered student to compete for the queen's crown.

Episode 21: Chapter Forty-Three (May/13/2002)
Lauren and Marilyn investigate a student who seems to be eating her own hair. Danny is discovered having sent letters home to the "over-weight" girls in his class after he is punched by a girl who received one of these letters. Marla goes to Steven and Scott about this issue, asking that he be fired. Meanwhile, Scott and Steven are continuing to have personality conflicts regarding leadership. Jamal Crenshaw's brother, Amaad, murders a store clerk and soon after, Jamal confides in Harry. Harry takes it to Ronnie, a past lawyer, who believes that Jamal's best bet is to turn himself in. However, when he doesn't; Harry and Ronnie do. Later on, Amaad comes to visit Harry at Winslow High and when things get out of hand, Harry calls the police. But before he can give them any details, he is stabbed by Amaad three times.

Episode 22: Chapter Forty-Four (May/20/2002)
Staff and students at Winslow High struggle to get on with their lives after a number of tragic events.

Episode 1: Chapter Forty-Five (Oct/21/2002)
A new year arrives at Winslow High and new tensions immediately arise. Brooke is caught in the middle when a group of students plan a walkout because the administration has been unable to handle crucial issues such as toxic mold in the bathrooms and overcrowded classrooms. Meanwhile, two new, young teachers, Zach Fischer and Colin Flynn, start at Winslow High. Fischer immediately causes problems with Harper when he fuels the fire of the student protests.

Episode 2: Chapter Forty-Six (Oct/28/2002)
The school is in chaos after the riot, racial abuse is thrown in the direction of Marla, and Guber is surprised with the actions of one of his top students.

Episode 3: Chapter Forty-Seven (Nov/04/2002)
The race attack gets worse, action is to be taken against students who drive dangerously, and Guber has a lot to face up to.

Episode 4: Chapter Forty-Eight (Nov/11/2002)

In other storylines, the battering of a gay teen prompts Guber to take a stand for tolerance, and a quickening crush on a fellow student ruffles a 12-year-old schoolgirl genius.

Anxiety besets Winslow staffers, scrutinized by the mayor's spy, a teacher's sex scandal is grist for the mill of student TV-journalists, and boyfriend-related tensions affect school-musical star Aisha.

Emotional Marla imperils a promotion. Rattled Hanson tends to a 4-year-old niece. Conflicted Aisha, recast in the school musical, confronts her jealous boyfriend.

Meanwhile, motherhood troubles Marcie, who is taking a parental-training course, and fears for his niece's welfare preoccupy Danny, whose sister is still using drugs.

Episode 21: Chapter Sixty-Five (May/05/2003)
Hanson, looking for a way to increase his chances in adopting his niece, makes a sudden proposal to Claire (Missy Yager). Meanwhile, Guber challenges a student (GQ) who wants to use rap music to show why Shakespeare "sucks"; and Marilyn doesn't trust a record producer (Method Man) who is pushing to sign Aisha to a recording deal. Musical guests Lifehouse perform at Doyle's Bar.

Episode 22: Chapter Sixty-Six (May/12/2003)
When a student writes a letter to Whitney Houston asking her to attend the prom with him, faculty and students are amazed that she accepts. Houston's attendance at the prom causes Aisha, who is set to perform, to get stage fright. Meanwhile, Harper presents a radical way to prevent the firing of teachers for budget reasons and Danny asks Claire's father's permission to marry her.

Ronnie catches a male teacher hugging a female student; Hanson worries that he may be a control freak following an incident in his Drivers' Education class; several students are caught photographing themselves nude with only words written across their bodies.
