Season 1

Episode 1: Pilot (Feb/26/2013)
GOLDEN BOY is a drama about the meteoric rise of an ambitious cop who one day will become the youngest police commissioner in the history of New York City, and the high personal and professional cost he pays to achieve it. After only three years as a beat cop, Clark’s heroics on the job make him bold enough to ask for and receive the unheard-of promotion to homicide detective, angering some members of his new department who are eager to see him fail. Clark is partnered with and mentored by experienced veteran Detective Don Owen, just two years shy of retirement. Immediately, Clark comes into conflict with First Grade Detective Christian Arroyo, the alpha dog in the squad who’s just as ambitious as Clark, but without a moral center. Arroyo’s partner is Detective Deborah McKenzie, a tough third-generation cop and the only female detective in the unit. Also on the team is Detective Joe Diaco, well-connected with tremendous resources which Clark might find useful. Though laser-focused on moving up the ladder, Clark’s soft spot is serving as the sole caregiver and supporter of his sister, Agnes, a teenager demonstrating increasingly dangerous behavior, whom Clark must serve as much a parent as a brother. About Motive

Motive Premiered on CTV on February 03, 2013

About the Show:
MOTIVE is an unconventional way to watch a crime drama unfold. Each episode of the new CTV Original Drama begins by revealing not only the victim, but the killer as well. It’s not a “whodunit,” it’s a “whydunit,” a question faced by spirited female Vancouver homicide detective Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman) as she begins to piece together the clues from the crime. How are the victim and killer connected? What is the motive? As the mystery unfolds, the audience navigates a complicated maze of clues alongside the detective and her team.

In the series’ signature teaser, viewers meet the killer and the victim in two separate opening vignettes. This surprising format challenges both the lead character and the audience to solve the mystery each week. While Angie sets out to piece together a murder plot, viewers spend time with the killer both before and after the crime, giving them the opportunity to delve inside the mind of a criminal, and understand their motive.

Flashbacks to the killer and victim amplify the tension and reveal their shared backstory. The narrative focuses on the unique cat-and-mouse element of the series as Angie closes in on the killer, and the evidence needed to solve the crime.

MOTIVE’s disarming and street-smart lead character Angie Flynn doesn’t suffer fools or authority figures lightly. Leading criminals and co-workers alike down the garden path, they soon realize that taking this sexy and sassy force-of-nature at face value is a major mistake. Viewers will be entertained by Angie’s character, intrigued by her investigation, and emotionally invested in both.

New DNA evidence has shown that Daniel didn't rape his 16-year-old girlfriend, Hanna, found assaulted and murdered, when he was 18. Senator Roland Foulkes says Daniel hasn't been exonerated and will still be pursued by the law. Roland meets local officials, including Sheriff Carl Daggett, and tells them to track down the primary witnesses. After Trey leaves, George shoots himself in the head.

Senator Foulkes, during a dalliance with the waitress from the local diner, tells her Hanna had come from a family "without means" and Daniel was a strange teenager; the waitress tells him Amantha's having sex with Jon. Daniel retreats to the attic, where he finds an old mixed tape from Hannah. He later goes to a skate and bike park with Jared. Amantha's out drinking with Jon when a man asks, flatly, if Daniel's going to live at home; she says she doesn't know. Amantha, unnerved, tells Jon the man is Hanna's brother.

Daniel goes shopping with his mom. Jon talks to the state prosecutor; Sheriff Daggett talks to Trey. At a seminar out of town, a buddy talks to Ted Jr. about an illicit business scheme. Episode 5: Drip, Drip (May/13/2013)
Daniel takes a strange trip in the night. Returning to town, he visits the tire store to talk to Ted Sr. Returning home, Ted Jr.'s angry to learn from Tawney that she's trying to help Daniel find absolution.
