Combat Hospital Premiered on ABC on June 21, 2011

About the Show:
Follow the frantic lives of a military hospital's resident doctors and nurses as they navigate the relentless life-and-death battles on the operating table, and the never-ending conflicts that arise from working in a war zone of Southern Afghanistan.

Modelled after the real Canadian-lead NATO Role 3 Hospital, the set is a meticulous re-creation of a portion of the hospital compound and the vast Kandahar Airfield, including the helicopter landing zone, boardwalk area and barracks, which housed over 15,000 military and civilian personnel.

A Role 3 Medical Unit is the highest level of care available in Kandahar, with facilities for emergency surgery and intensive care. The Role 3 hospital is improvised quarters: a jumble of tents, temporary buildings made of plywood and duct tape, even repurposed shipping containers that line the unit as its protective outer walls. Within these walls an international team of doctors, nurses and medics deliver the best battlefield surgical care anywhere to wounded soldiers, civilians caught in the crossfire, even the enemy.

Helming the hospital on behalf of the Canadian Forces is Colonel Xavier Marks (Elias Koteas), a career military surgeon and Head of the Role 3 Multinational Medical Unit. New Role 3 recruits include Major Rebecca Gordon (Michelle Borth), a top-of-her-class trauma surgeon who is eager to impress, along with Captain Bobby Trang (Terry Chen), who is thrown into the deep end as a Trauma Team Leader upon his arrival to the unit. The only non-military medical staffer is the brilliant British neurosurgeon Dr. Simon Hill (Luke Mably), leaving the others to wonder why he volunteered to work in a war zone. Overseeing the mental well being of the troops on their tour of duty is the Australian psychiatrist Major Grace Pederson (Deborah Kara Unger). And as every doctor knows - they are nothing without their nurses: Chief of Nursing, Commander Will Royal (Arnold Pinnock), a registered nurse serving with the Canadian Forces, won't let them forget this universal truth.

About the Show:
"Love Bites" is an hour-long romantic comedy anthology series featuring three loosely connected modern stories of love, sex, marriage and dating. Each of the multiple vignettes will involve an array of talented guest stars every week, and will illuminate the theme of love with a fresh, irreverent spin.

Anchoring the series and appearing in each episode are stars Becki Newton ("Ugly Betty") as Annie Matopoulos, a single New York City girl looking for "Mr. Right Now"; and Constance Zimmer ("Entourage") and Greg Grunberg ("Heroes") as Colleen and Judd Rouscher, a happily married Venice Beach couple.

About the Show:
As a Homicide Detective, Jessica King (Amy Price-Francis) sees things that everyone else misses: in crime scenes, in evidence, in the motivations and drives of the suspects. A fearless and imaginative lateral thinker, her unique eye for detail turns cases around. And she has a rare quality: Jess doesn’t need to be liked. That quality gets her into trouble.

Almost two years ago, the former Chief of Police sent Jess to the call centre - the Police Service equivalent of Siberia - for an act of gross insubordination. She went public about corruption on the Force. Some of her colleagues haven’t forgotten, let alone forgiven her. After the shuffle, Jess struggled to accept that the “career” part of things had run its course. She started thinking about something that she’d avoided for a long time. Family. A new life.

So, Jess dove into a third marriage with fellow officer and Guns and Gangs team member Detective Daniel Sless (Gabriel Hogan). Danny adores Jess. But their rigorous efforts to get pregnant haven’t panned out so far. And that’s putting a strain on things.

When Detective Sergeant Derek Spears (Alan Van Sprang) has a public, televised meltdown, Jessica King is called in to lead the Major Crimes Task Force (M.C.T.F.) – a police squad that is parachuted in to take over cases in crisis. Murder, rape, robbery, gang violence, serial and predatory crime – everything’s fair game.

The unit takes over cases already in progress and in crisis. A cop or the courts screw up, or another squad drops the ball and Jess and her team have to work fast, take big risks and probably piss some people off to get it back on track. Like Jess, the M.C.T.F. doesn’t have many boundaries.

Spears is less than gracious about the fact that King is now in charge of what was ‘his’ unit. He was a good cop once, very good, and he will be again. But, it’ll take Jessica King to help him get his mojo back. There's chemistry between them and Jess will be tempted - Spears is a lot like the guys she swore off years ago. Besides, she's determined to make her marriage with Danny work. Colleagues may resent her but King’s fierce intelligence, passion for her job, disarming honesty and wicked sense of humour overrides their doubts. King is a lateral, imaginative thinker whose rare eye for detail gives her a critical edge. And, she’s tough. King has survived eight years in Homicide, two marriages and multiple stab wounds. Off duty, King is a wife, a lover and a friend, who struggles with issues of infertility, intimacy and trust – and like most women, she can’t pass up a good shoe sale.

Episode 1: Lori Gilbert
Detective Jess King must find a missing girl and prove to Chief Graci that she can handle her new job as head of the Major Crimes Task Force…and her new squad.

Episode 2: T-Bone
Homicide is trying to convict two major drug traffickers, the Barrata Brothers, of murder. But when the Drug Squad nails a wise guy named DeMarco for possession, they unwittingly take Homicide's only lead off the streets. Graci hands the mess to Jess, ordering her to solve the murders and bring peace to the cop shop. At the Don Jail, Jess identifies DeMarco's unlikely confidante, a biker named T-Bone, and promises him a break on his own assault sentence if he agrees to act as an undercover agent for the police. Jess puts her trust in her volatile informant, but when T-Bone goes AWOL, he jeopardizes the case and Jess’ reputation.

Episode 3: Amanda Jacobs
When Detective Jenny Hicks refutes Melissa Jacobs’ claim that she was brutally raped by the Riverdale Rapist, Amanda sues the Police Services. Enter Jess King, ordered to investigate the Amanda Jacobs case while the Sex Crimes Unit continues to investigate the Riverdale Rapist. Jess believes Amanda and takes over both cases, to the ire of Hicks, who quits the Service. And new evidence suggests Amanda's rapist is far more sinister and much closer to home. The Major Crimes Task Force is pushed to its limits in bringing a serial predator to justice.

Episode 4: Eleni Demaris
When Detective Eleni Demaris interrupts a home invasion in progress, she’s beaten into a coma, and Jess will stop at nothing to avenge her friend. But according to Graci, she’ll have to work with Detective Ray Arnold – a member of Toronto's notorious Robbery squad – to do it. Robbery squad members are known for their violent tendencies and sloppy work ethic, and Ray is no exception. Ray zeroes in on an ex-con with an eerily similar modus operandi, but Jess fears Ray’s tunnel vision is compromising the investigation. As victims pile up, Jess and Ray must find a way to work together to catch a ruthless criminal with nothing to lose…

Episode 5: Farah Elliot
Jess King is aghast when she discovers her nemesis, Seymour Keegan, a vicious serial predator, is back in town and targeting a new victim. Jess knows Seymour killed a teen girl five years ago but she didn't have enough evidence to convict. Jess tries and fails to trap her Moby Dick in a sting, but when she turns up nothing but circumstantial evidence, Graci takes Jess off the case. Or so he thinks. Jess goes rogue and tracks Seymour on her own using her team and some questionable tactics. Seymour loves the attention, and that’s when Jess makes the connection - he's a clinical narcissist and he’s taunting her. When another girl goes missing, Jess must rein in her obsession in order to save her before it's too late.

Episode 6: Ahmad Khan
Ahmad, the bright star of the University’s Bio Chem department, was also an observant Muslim, and his violent murder has all the makings of a hate crime. But when Jess discovers Ahmad was secretly gay, the case becomes more complicated. To make matters worse, the murderer seems to delight in misleading the police, leaving Jess to wonder: is this a hate crime at all, or an elaborate cover up? Jess navigates the ambitious and cutthroat world of academia, squaring off with a brilliant sociopath who just might have committed the perfect murder.

Episode 7: Cameron Bell
When a video of Danny's partner, Jim Perry, beating his Confidential Informant is caught on tape and televised, Danny and Perry are suspended. Graci has Jess take over their ongoing investigation: the shooting of Scott Flanigan, an innocent bystander caught in gang crossfire at a skating rink. But when Jess discovers that Flanigan was actually the target of the shooting, the case blows open. Digging deeper to find a motive, Jess suspects the killer used the gang's notorious rivalry as a decoy for a crime of passion.

Episode 8: Scout Winter
When Trevor Winter, an anti-racist activist, provokes a white supremacist group, he is beaten in his own house, which prompts Child Protection Services to take away his kids. The media makes the Police Force look bad for not making any arrests and tearing a family apart. To improve optics, Graci puts King on the case. But when Jess' prime suspect, a skinhead leader, turns out to be an undercover federal agent, Jess is stumped. New evidence emerges, and Jess discovers the true perp has a more personal motive for keeping the family apart.

Endgame premiered on Showcase on March 14, 2011

About the Show:
He was born in the Soviet Union but escaped when the Berlin Wall came tumbling down. He rocketed to international chess stardom after winning a string of tournaments, all played at blitz speed. Arkady Balagan soon became World Champion and one of the most legendary chess players of all time.

Balagan came to Vancouver, the hometown of his fiancée, Rosemary, to take part in a tournament. Rosemary was going to lunch with an old friend. As they waved goodbye, a vehicle drove up. He watched as Rosemary died in a hail of bullets.

The local police said it was a case of mistaken identity. Balagan became traumatized; convinced he was the real target. It was Vladimir Putin's revenge for Balagan having given millions to the pro-democracy forces in Russia.

The potent combination of guilt, grief and fear made Balagan unable to leave the hotel. And so he was stuck inside for months, eventually running out of money. A boy is missing and Balagan makes an off-hand observation that turns out to be true. Soon one of the fathers, under suspicion from the police, is pleading with Balagan to help solve the crime. Bored with his life in the hotel, broke, and eager to help, Balagan agrees and to his own surprise, he soon figures out who has the boy.

Thus he earns a reputation for solving mysteries and figuring out the impossible. Each week, people come with problems that have stymied the police, or problems that they cannot even bring to the authorities.

He has two confederates who do his leg work - Sam, a grad student and chess fanatic, and Alcina, a hotel maid from Guatemala. Danni, the hotel bartender, is his source for information and contacts, as well as an ear for his theories.

But the trick is that though Balagan cannot leave the hotel, he solves the puzzles in his head. Literally. He can imagine events, interview the living and the dead, go over every permutation and combination of events. He imagines it one way, then another; and we have the privilege of entering his mind and seeing it all with him, until finally he figures it out.

During all of this Balagan is also trying to figure out who killed Rosemary and why. With the assistance of her sister, Pippa, he explores many theories, but to no avail

A rock star rock star hires Balagan to find $200,000 stolen from him - a mystery that also involves colourful groupies, a missing polar bear, and the kidnapped grandmother of Danni's estranged husband.
