About The Chicago Code

The Chicago Code premiered on Fox on February 07, 2011

About the Show:
THE CHICAGO CODE, the compelling new police drama from critically acclaimed creator Shawn Ryan ("The Shield"), follows the Windy City's most powerful and respected cops as they navigate the city's underbelly to fight crime and expose corruption within Chicago's notorious political machine.

Set and shot on location in Chicago, THE CHICAGO CODE is a fast-paced series centered on JAREK WYSOCKI (Jason Clarke), a local legend and a larger-than-life veteran of the Chicago Police Department who wields considerable power thanks to his relationship with TERESA COLVIN (Jennifer Beals), his ex-partner and the city's first female superintendent, now in charge of a 10,000-member police force. While Teresa diplomatically governs amidst the complicated landscape of Chicago politics, Jarek works the streets on a crusade to clean up corruption and crime and avenge his brother's murder. Along the way, they will stop at nothing to bring down their powerful adversaries, including ALDERMAN RONIN GIBBONS (Delroy Lindo), a building-magnate-turned-politician who has ruled his ward with a velvet glove for over two decades.

Joining Jarek on the street is CALEB EVERS (Matt Lauria), an eager young detective trying desperately to prove himself. Also in Jarek's charge is his niece, VONDA WYSOCKI (Devin Kelley), a rookie beat cop whose father - Jarek's brother - was killed in the line of duty when she was young. Jarek keeps close tabs on her and is less than thrilled with the risk-taking ways of her cocky hotshot partner, ISAAC JOINER (Todd Williams). Also in the mix is low-life LIAM HENNESSEY (Billy Lush), an Irish thug who blends in with the gritty world of local crime.

Teresa handles the escalating crisis as Jarek and Caleb race against time to track down the suspect who might have ties to the Chicago Liberation Army. Meanwhile, Teresa has her eyes set on securing funding to buy the department new radios.

Episode 7: Black Hand and the Shotgun Man

While visiting grieving families with Alderman Gibbons, undercover cop Liam Hennessey becomes increasingly vulnerable when he feels the pain of victims. The family drama follows Jarek home when he visits his ex-wife, and wedding bells continue to ring for his fiancé.

Episode 8: Wild Onions
The record-breaking summer heat and the likelihood of blackouts send the Chicago Police Department into the streets in full force to temper the city's escalating violence. Alongside her new driver, Superintendent Teresa Colvin finds herself back in the field while Detectives Wysocki and Evers take over an emotional case in which a son witnessed his father's fatal shooting. Meanwhile, Alderman Gibbons enlists Liam to help keep his constituents cool.

Episode 9: St. Valentine's Day Massacre
When five merchants are gunned down in a restaurant in Lincoln Park, relentless press coverage prompts the embattled mayor to blame the city's rising crime problem on Superintendent Colvin, who, in turn, unleashes Jarek and Caleb to catch the killers in hopes of restoring her credibility as a competent leader. Meanwhile, Isaac and Vonda are forced to revisit a past domestic violence case.

Episode 10: Bathhouse & Hinky Dink
While Teresa and Jarek set the stage for their case against Alderman Gibbons, their effort to clean up Chicago takes an unexpected turn when a deadlocked jury acquits a corrupt city official. Suspicious, the two mount an investigation, only to discover that jury tampering is just the tip of the iceberg.

Episode 11: Black Sox
Following a murder that appears to be a hate crime, Teresa risks tipping Gibbons off to her big-picture plan by boldly taking on the Chicago Police Department's corrupt "meritorious" promotion system. Meanwhile, Jarek is forced to face his own reality when Vonda receives an anonymous package that reveals more about the Wysocki family.

Episode 12: Greylord & Gambat

It's the moment of truth for the city of Chicago and the Chicago Police Department. FBI Special Agent Cuyler returns to pay Superintendent Colvin a visit, and Jarek stops at nothing to address family issues that have haunted him for years. When Jarek and Teresa are forced to put everything on the line, the stakes are raised as their case against the kingpin of corruption in Chicago comes to a climactic conclusion.

Episode 9: El Negotiator
Alex's night off is interrupted, when the party she and the team are attending is taken hostage by Mexican terrorists. While Peter makes unsatisfactory attempts at hostage negotiation, N'udu is shot, and the NISA agents are discovered.

Episode 10: The Ghost
Claude's old friend, Joshua "The Ghost" Crane, a known master of evasion who left NISA eight years ago, is captured with a USB drive that implicates him as being connected to Somali terrorists. However, while the team learns that the group's leaders' names are actually Arabic translations of popular Middle Eastern dishes, he proves the flaws in NISA's security.

Episode 11: Going Dutch
Alex fears that the Dutch Secret Service has reprogrammed Burt to serve as a mole against Canada.

Episode 12: Get Cranston
When a crazed killer targets Alex, NISA must sift through hundreds of suspects but fails to catch the would-be assassin — a university classmate, Penny Cryer, whose nose Alex had broken while playing volleyball.
