Season 1

Episode 1: Pilot
Veteran Homicide Det. Louis Fitch and his new partner Det. Damon Washington investigate a double homicide at a pharmacy. Washington, who is working his first day in Homicide and becomes ill at the site of the dead bodies, suggests that it is a drug deal gone bad, but Fitch and Det. Ariana Sanchez see indications that there might be more to the killings. Meanwhile, retiring Sgt. Jesse Longford and partner Det. Aman Mahajan search for the killer of a divorce attorney found shot to death at the rail yards. As the two cases intersect, police find themselves in a race against time to stop the killing spree.

Episode 2: Local Hero/Overboard
Stone teams with Sanchez to look into the murder of Calvin Gibbs, a local football hero. The prime suspect turns out to be Calvin's brother, a former felon and gang member. Longford and Mahajan check out the disappearance of a groom from a wedding reception. When Alice Williams from the Wayne County Prosecutor's office asks the police to deal with the fallout from a recent police precinct incident, Fitch is ordered to speak with the press.

Episode 3: Nobody's Home/Unknown Soldier
A woman murdered in an apparent robbery is the latest assignment for Fitch & Washington and Longford & Majahan but it's not as straightforward as it appears. The victim was a squatter in Brush Park. Stone and Sanchez are working on the case of a murdered teenager found with his father who although severely beaten is still alive. The case uncovers a scam involving vintage cars.

Episode 4: Royal Bubbles/Needle Drop
Fitch & Washington and Stone & Sanchez investigate a brutal homicide at a car wash. While investigating the owner's death, they discover illegal activities taking place at the car wash that may endanger the victim's wife. Longford and Mahajan look into the death of an up-and-coming hip-hop star found dead at a record store. Their investigation turns up the victim's secret life.

Episode 5: Murder in Greektown/High School Confidential
Everyone is on alert after a teenage girl is killed at the same high school Lt. Mason's daughter attends. The numerous suspects include a construction worker with a record and the girl's boyfriend. It appears to be an inside job when the son of a prominent defense attorney is murdered after hours in a Greek restaurant.

Episode 6: Lost Child/Murder 101
When a young woman with a two-year old hidden in the back of her SUV is shot multiple times the detectives are furious. Possibilities include her ex-husband and illegalities with the foster care system. Longford and Mahajan look into the homicide of a college janitor which looks to be the "perfect murder" until the detectives uncover an unusual motive.

Episode 7: Broken Engagement/Trashman
Fitch is joined by Stone and Sanchez to investigate the murder of Abigail James, a successful executive from Detroit's "Tech Town". Possible scenarios include corporate competition and a messy love triangle. Longford and Washington look into whether the death of a young drug dealer found in a trash bin is because of his street business or something more personal. Mahajan is tasked with searching for an eyewitness who failed to show up in court to testify against a skinhead accused of murder.

Episode 8: Deja Vu/All In
Fitch, Washington and Sanchez investigate a missing teenager, Seth Cantor. Everything points to his high school buddies who are running drugs from across the Canadian border. The crime seems to copycat the style of the Purple Gang, an old Detroit mob – indications of a violent murder without a body. Longford and Majahan's case involves a murdered high stakes poker player. The player was trying to win enough money to pay for his child's organ transplant but he's found dead without his winnings from the tournament.

Episode 9: Home Invasion/Drive-By
Longford, Mahajan, Stone and Sanchez are involved in the investigation of a retired auto industry executive who was found dead in his spacious Boston-Edison home. Multiple motives arise including robbery and jealousy over a possible affair between the widow and an old friend from the Detroit Yacht Club. Fitch, Washington and Lt. Mason must deal with the drive-by shooting of an 11-year old boy. Much to the surprise of the detectives, it's discovered that the same gun killed both victims.

Episode 10: Shelter

Episode 12: Key to the City
Following Longford's retirement party, the squad learns that assistant prosecutor Alice Williams has been shot and killed in the courthouse parking garage. For the team this case is personal and the suspects are many. It also emerges that Williams and a reporter were building a case against a prominent figure, someone Fitch has had run-ins with in the past.

Episode 13: Road to Nowhere
Fitch is the main suspect when philanthropist Henry Malloy is shot. Special Agent Jess Harkins is assigned to investigate his involvement which includes interrogating the other squad members. In the meantime, Fitch and Washington are assigned a bizarre case involving three murder victims on a public bus, thousands of dollars and a missing bus driver. As they try to track the money they discover a kidnapping gone wrong.

Episode 14: Beaten/Cover Letter
Fitch, Washington, Stone and Sanchez delve into the boxing world to investigate a woman's death. Her fiancé is preparing for a match against her ex-boyfriend and she was hiding a secret that could have thrown the fight. Longford and Mahajan are forced to face some tough ethical issues if they are to bring a resolution to the cold case they are re-examining. It seems that the victim led two lives, one with his wife and daughter and one with his married lover.

Episode 15: Legacy/Drag City
In the case of she's really a he, Longford and Mahajan investigate the bludgeoning death of a prominent drag queen. As they delve into the victim's life they must sort through ardent admirers and jealous rival divas. In a different case, an ex-con confesses to killing rival gang members in self defense leaving Fitch and Washington to uncover what the shooter is hiding. Stone's love life gets complicated when a woman from his past returns.

Episode 16: Stone Cold
The squad puts everything on hold to investigate the murder of Dawn Cofield, a college co-ed. The field of suspects is numerous including a drug runner, a professor and a classmate. At the top of the list is her boyfriend, Pup Clemmons, who just happens to be a rival of Stone's from his days in undercover work, but there's also a competitor of Pup who's on the list of suspects. Meanwhile, Sanchez is busy checking into Stone's junkie ex-girlfriend who keeps hanging around the station. To top it all off a tense standoff ends in violence and overwhelming upheaval.

Episode 17: Motor City Blues
The personal lives of the detectives are about to be interrupted in a big way. Longford and Mahajan delve into the murder of a graffiti artist with an obvious suspect. But Fitch's curiosity about some artistic doodles leads the case toward another suspect. When Fitch's ex-wife flies to Detroit to leave Bobby with him for a planned visit, she drops a bombshell. Unbeknownst to the detectives, everyone will soon be in jeopardy.

Episode 18: Blackout
Fitch is trying to enjoy time with his son Bobby but he can't escape his New York past when Albert Stram makes an appearance in Detroit and starts making threats. When an entire family is brutally murdered Fitch works to piece the crime together and comes to a devastating conclusion. Leaving Washington to guard Bobby, Fitch, Longford and Mahajan head out to ensnare Stram. In order to save his family and the squad, Fitch will have to choose which side of the law to come down on.
