I get migraines frequently, and unfortunately I haven't found that accupressure point to be effective for me, though I know it does help others.  Maybe it has something to do with the cause of the migraine...who knows?

I'm la it's warming up there...it's gotten colder here, and my radiator doesn't seem to be doing the job today.
I hope there's still snow when you go to Mt. Hermon.  Sledding is always fun.

I'm off to watch some shows, so see ya' later, 'gator.

Now I'm wishing we had wonkavision too!   It's so cold here, I should be doing something in the kitchen, but I just can't motivate myself to get out from under the blanket.  The most I've done is boil water...which I'll be doing again shortly...for hot drinks.  I like winter, but NOT when the heat doesn't work well inside.  Then it's just miserable.  Even my cats are cold and cuddling under the blanket, here on the sofa.  I might see if there's anything decent in the freezer that I can heat up in the oven.  That way I don't have to actually cook, and it might feel a bit warmer in here.

p.s. Is anyone else having difficulty getting a good connection?  Mine isn't timing out, but for some reason I've got the RealPlayer window that doesn't show how far it's loaded, and even if I wait a good while it keeps stopping to communicate and I have to stop and restart the episode and drag it to where I left off.  It must have taken an hour and a half to watch one episode.  Yesterday it was streaming like a dream and I watched 5 episodes.  Today is just being a bummer of a day all around.

Yes, that's the problem with my RP.  I've asked about it several times, but you're the first one to offer any suggestions.  Please fill me in on how to remedy it because it's irritating when I don't know how far it's loaded.

Also, thanks for the tea, the electric blanket, and thanks Tina for the cocoa.  I'll make use of all 3.

p.s. I LOVE cinnamon in my cocoa.  YUM!

Sure wish I did.  Darn thing is so irritating, because sometimes it works great and then ...whammo... not so much.  I don't even know what causes it to do that - change from being able to see what's loading to not.  I don't fiddle with it and it will change in one viewing, if I have to stop and start it up again.  You would think there would be some consistency, but NO...not for me, anyway.

OK, I just realized that it sounds like I think my RP is doing this to ME, personally, on purpose.  I'm not really that crazy or paranoid, but it does feel personal at times.

No problem, I watched a DVD while I waited.  I had rented a couple SG-1 discs to catch up quicker.  I'm now up to episode 13 of season 5.  YAY!

I did everything in the instructions, and think it's all good now.  I'll know for sure over the next few days.  Thanks again, Miss Smarty Pants.
BTW, how do you like those pants Tina found for you?  Pretty snazzy, eh?  Glad you were able to get some rest, I hope there's more of that in hours to come.

Catch ya' later.  I might just try to go and watch something now.

Thanks for the lovely...and warm looking...greeting, Mel.   It's still quite chilly here, so the beach looks mighty appealing.

And Gypsy, I haven't watched anything today, but had no trouble with 2 shows last night.  Thanks again!  It's made my viewing experience SO much more pleasurable.

I hear ya' girl!  That same tune's been banging away in my head for at least 3 days now.  Today is a little quieter, so I'm going to be smart and not aggravate the band.  I'll only be here for a short time, but will check in again later.

Hugs & kisses to all the girlies!   They are the best medicine around,   (not including any good pain med that could actually evict the bugger).

I don't know that your bunkmate will appreciate your doing crunches in bed, but I'm glad you found the root of your problem.   Insomnia is NO fun.  And we can't have our bride-to-be looking all tired and haggard from lack of sleep.   One thing I used to do when I shared a room was I had a light that could attach to the book, at the top, so I could read in bed and not disturb anyone with the light.

p.s. Please check out my poll in The Gilmore Girls forum.  I'm running a test, but I need member input too, not only mods.  It's here.

I do that too.  What's even funnier is when you can't make any sense out of what you wrote the night before that seemed so important or profound at the time.  Penmanship can be poor too when writing in a sleepy haze...makes deciphering the meanderings of an insomniac brain all the more challenging.

I see you can't sleep either.  Actually anyone is welcome here.  The mods have Site Management to chat about mod stuff...like what kinds of games we'll be doing and stuff like that.  This thread is where the girls, and the occasional brave fellow, can come and have a bit of fun.  We whinge when we're sick and cheer each other up with silly pictures.  We also just come to see who else has stopped by.  You're more than welcome to drop by the giggle box whenever you like.  You are definitely one of the girls.

Now, I'm REALLY going to bed, and hopefully will successfully fall asleep.  Good-night my dear.

And for the tea drinkers among us...myself included, the pot's always ready.

That actually sounds good, right about now.  I'm gasping for a cuppa.

I'm a Guinness or G&T girl myself, but for our other ladies (and some gentlemen) who like to imbibe every now and then, here are some "girly" drinks that might tempt you.

I know...it will darken or get more ashy (for fair-haired people) if you've had any major illness too.  I'm a strawberry blond...a little more on the strawberry side, but after I was really ill once it was like the red got sucked out of my hair.  Very weird.  I dye it now, but to my natural colour.  My hairdresser still asks if it's dyed because it looks so natural.  Every now and then I will go a shade darker than my natural colour, to a darker red.  I wish THAT was my natural colour, because I don't look quite so washed out when I'm sans make-up.

p.s. I was going to suggest you to show us a Meez of your new look, but Gypsy beat me to it.

Mine's the same.  I have so many natural highlights that even when I colour it they still shine through.

ONE FLAW IN WOMAN

I've read this before, but was just sent it in an email and thought we could all use the reminder.

One Flaw in Woman

By the time the Lord made woman,
He was into his sixth day of working overtime.
An angel appeared and said, "Why are you spending so much time on this one?"
And the Lord answered, "Have you seen my spec sheet on her?  She has  to be completely washable, but not plastic, have over 200 movable parts,
all replaceable and able to run on diet coke and leftovers, have a lap that can hold four children at one time, have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart
-and she will do everything with only two hands."

The angel was astounded at the requirements.
"Only two hands!? No way!  And that's just on the standard model?  That's too much work for one day.
Wait until tomorrow to finish."

"But I won't," the Lord protested.
"I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart.
She already heals herself when she is sick AND can work 18 hour days."
The angel moved closer and touched the woman.
"But you have made her so soft, Lord."

"She is soft," the Lord agreed, "but I have also made her tough.
You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish."

"Will she be able to think?” asked the angel.

The Lord replied, "Not only will she be able to think, she will  be able to reason and negotiate."

The angel then noticed something, and  reaching out, touched the woman's cheek.
"Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model.  I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one."

"That's not a leak," the Lord corrected, "that's a tear!"
"What's the tear for?" the angel asked.

The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love, her loneliness, her grief and her pride."
The angel was impressed.
"You are a genius, Lord.  You thought of everything!
Woman is truly amazing."

And she is!
Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.

They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colours.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideals.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give.
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,
IT IS  THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

When I read it this time, it made me think of all of you gals in the giggle box, no matter what your age.  Always be mindful that even if it seems the little things you do go unnoticed, there's someone who is touched by what you have done...even if they never tell you.

I'm so sorry to hear about your father, Penny.  We never get too old to need our parents, do we?  You're very fortunate to have had them for so long, not that that makes losing them any easier.  My father was only 35 when he died...I was 15, but hadn't seen him in a couple years, as he lived on the other side of the country.  I still miss him though.  Thankfully I have some great friends who have been very fatherly to me, because sometimes we all need a little fatherly advice.  I still have my Mum, who is my best friend.  You must miss yours.   My Gran died just over 2 years ago and my Mum misses her greatly (I do too).  She still has days when something happens, and she thinks, I can't wait to get home to tell Ma.
I'll be thinking of you.

p.s. And Meg, I think we all know what you'll be up to that will tire you out.

I'm a country girl, so I'll put my request in for Travis Tritt's "It's a Great Day to Be Alive" and some "T-R-O-U-B-L-E".   Soft drink for me too...I'm slightly medicated.
