I feel a bug coming on, and am hoping beyond hope that it isn't the flu.  So far it feels more like a stomach bug, because I viciously nauseous.  I'm feeling even more empathy for you now, Tina, because I don't have a little one to run after.  Thank heaven for small mercies.   

I'm off to make some ginger tea.

Well, thankfully, I haven't gotten the flu but this bug I have is a tenacious little beastie.  I'm feeling a bit better (still can't stomach much), but will be glad when I feel like myself again.  There are so may things going around right now, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that this is all I catch.  Unfortunately, I had to venture out on the bus yesterday to go to the doctor, and between the bus & the doc's office, I felt like I was in a petri dish.  ICK!  Thank heavens for hand sanitizer.

Gypsy is still in her island paradise and her connection is pretty rotten there.  Thankfully, it won't be TOO much longer before she's back home, and able to connect with us more regularly.

Hi Xareena!  

This is just a thread where we have a bit of fun.  The first few pages were magic's attempt to carve out a little place just for himself here in the forum.  It was originally titled Get Out!  This thread has been here since long before we had a Free Chatting Board, so it's really nonsensical.  Gary (magic4u) finally gave up and gave the thread to me...after months of my having fun annoying him, and the thread has since been renamed...courtesy of the original owner.

Everyone is welcome, especially the girls.     Hope to see every now and again (or all the time), but if not, feel free to stop by and read our nonsense.  Sometimes it's quite amusing.

Whatever you decide, I'd just like to say, Welcome to the girly's giggle box!   The kettle's always ready and there's usually something to nibble on too.  Feel free to take your shoes off and stay a while.

I'm quite a bit older than you and still consider myself "one of the girls".  I don't think that is something you ever outgrow, because my Mum & Gran felt the same.   Age is only a number, and you're as old or young as you feel, provided that you still take care of your responsibilities.  My "little" sister just turned 25, and right now, I'd say she feels older than I do, just because of everything that's going on in her life (one thing being a fairly new baby & a jealous 6 year old).  It's all relative.

Glad you stopped by, and happy to provide some amusement with our "rants".

You might do well to take that remedy you suggested to Tina.   I hope you're able to get all the rest you need, so you feel better more quickly.  I'm amazed you lasted this long without catching anything, what with the travelling and being with germy little kids all day.

I totally know what you mean about how you feel about the friends you've made here.  I used to think people were crazy when they talked about stuff like that, but I now understand it completely.  It's quite amazing how close you can feel to people you've never met.


Hey Casper, go on and try to set up a "Big Boys Brigade".  Don't think I won't horn in on that too.   Just ask Gary (magic4u) how stubborn and tenacious I can be.  Besides, I doubt that many fellas would stick around as long as the girls have, here in the giggle box.  You're more than welcome to stay and play in here.  Dan (dognxtdoor) does, on occasion.  He adds that bit of testosterone that's needed to keep us sane, but we always welcome a bit more.  It's also nice to get a guys perspective occasionally.

Thanks for the smile Casper.  I thought I was better, but I've caught another stupid bug now, and I can barely speak.  Good thing for keyboards.  It's awful for the folks who have phoned today though, since they could barely hear a word I said.  I'm trying to keep my big gob shut, and if I'm very good, maybe this bug will think I've gone and find another host to party in.


Tina...I can't believe that infection is still hanging on!  You're probably starting to become resistant to the meds, since  you've had so many infections...or the infection itself has morphed into one that's resistant.  Don't forget to eat your yogurt or take some probiotics while you're on the antibiotics.  I hope they kick in soon.  Poor girl...sinus infections SUCK! (<me attacking your infection )


Gypsy, sorry I missed you yesterday.  It's great to hear from you though.  I miss you, and am sure I speak for the rest of the girls when I say we can't wait 'til you're back home.  


Meg, your Mum sounds pretty cool.  I learned the "Best Wishes" thing from Emily Gilmore as well.  I highly doubt that's something my Mum knows even now - but we're fairly informal people.  She's taught me all the important things, including etiquette, which I'm sure you'll be more than capable of when the time comes.   My Mum was young when she had me, younger than you are now, and I think she did a pretty good job with both me and my brother.

Arielle, thanks for the chicken soup.   I'm actually going to have some for dinner because anything else would hurt to swallow.  I think all Grandma's, no matter what ethnicity, say to eat chicken soup (or some kind of soup).  I've read reports that prove there's some truth to it's medicinal powers.

Xareena, sorry to hear you're down too.  I sure hope you feel better before school starts.  If you DO have to take your concoction, and it works, will you share it with us?

Poor you!  I hope this round of meds finally does the trick.  You can feel free to keep your infection to yourself, thank you very much.  I feel crappy enough without having an infection too.  Get some rest and let the meds do their job!

Thanks for the "Get Well" wishes.  I'm sure we'll all be on the mend soon.  As for the pages, they're different when I check them.  Page 62 has a post by Arielle at the top, and page 63 has one by Casper.  You must have had a glitch.

Can't wait until you're home!  It'll be nice to have you with us on a regular basis again, once you have a consistent connection.  I'm counting the days too.

Glad to hear you're feeling better Xareena.    Even more so, since you'll be up to par when school starts.  Good on ya' for taking nursing.  It's a tough but rewarding career.  Whenever I've been sick and had to be in hospital, the nurses are the ones I remember most.  Plus, there are some in my family, so I think it's great!

I'm feeling your positive energy, as I positively head back to my bed.   I can barely keep my eyes open today, but that's good.  It means my body is working hard to get me better.

Have a great day, and enjoy this next week week with your kids, as you'll be extra busy when school begins.

I know, but I'm glad it made you laugh.    That was so sweet of your Mom to do for you.  I still have my Pooh bear from when I was a tot, and I take him out now and then to give him a cuddle.  I did it more often when I was first on my own (my Mum & brother moved away), so I know what you mean.  They're wonderful, aren't they?

That's my thought, Meg.  I think when they don't have new shows to watch, people get busy with other things.  Also, since many watch their shows here, they come right over from the VIP site after they've watched a show or while they're waiting for it to buffer.  Hopefully, with the winter/spring onslaught if new shows and seasons we'll be a bit more active soon.  I think the Lost forum will really liven up come February 1st, since it begins in North America on January 31st.

That sucks too.  At least you had the site to watch shows on.  There's nothing but infomercials on TV that late.  I hope you're able to rest some today.  I imagine it's only when the pain killers first kick in that you can sleep at all.
