I think it has a great storyline, talented actors and it's set in a beautiful scenery. I haven't read the books but I'm going to. I've read that they are very different from the show, but I'll read them anyway.

I just caught up with you, only to find out that the show has been canceled. That's sad news

I just started reading the first book with the title Wizard's First Rule. I can recommend reading them, even though they're different from the show.
