The River's Paul Blackthorne, 'Homeland's Jamey Sheridan join 'Arrow'
Paul Blackthorne and Jamey Sheridan are the latest actors to join The CW's Arrow.
The pilot will feature Vampire Diaries actor Stephen Amell as DC Comics character Green Arrow / Oliver Queen.
The River star Blackthorne will play Detective Quentin Lance, the father of Queen's love interest Laurel (Katie Cassidy).
Lance is assigned to bring the vigilante Green Arrow to justice, but is unaware of Queen's double identity, according to Deadline.
Blackthorne will be credited as a guest star in the pilot, but will be promoted to a co-starring role if The River is not picked up for a second season.
Homeland actor Sheridan has also been cast as Queen's own father Robert. Susanna Thompson previously signed up to play the hero's mother Moria.
Game of Thrones director David Nutter will helm the Arrow pilot, which will be written and executive produced by Green Lantern's Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and The Vampire Diaries producer Andrew Kreisberg.
Other stars attached to the comic adaptation include Dexter's David Ramsey, The O.C.'s Willa Holland and Pan Am actor Colin Donnell.
