Rachael Taylor joins ABC's '666 Park Avenue' pilot

Rachael Taylor has signed up for a lead role in ABC's pilot 666 Park Avenue.

The supernatural drama, which is based on a series of books by Gabriella Pierce, focuses on a young couple who begin managing one of the oldest apartment buildings in New York.

However, they soon start to experience a series of spooky events.

Taylor has now landed the role of the wife in the drama, The Hollywood Reporter says.

She will star opposite Brothers & Sisters actor Dave Annable, who has signed up to play the husband.

Taylor recently starred in ABC's short-lived reboot of Charlie's Angels. Her previous credits include roles in Grey's Anatomy and the movie Transformers.

Lost star Terry O'Quinn has also signed up for a part in 666 Park Avenue and will play the owner of the haunted building.

Sean Patrick Thomas joins The CW's 'The Selection

Sean Patrick Thomas has joined the pilot for The CW's The Selection.

The actor, perhaps best known for starring opposite Julia Stiles in Save the Last Dance, will assume the role of Sylvan Santos.

The character is said to be an adviser to the current queen, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Selection, somewhat similar to The Hunger Games, follows a poor young woman - played by Friday Night Lights star Aimee Teegarden - who is chosen by lottery to participate in a competition to become the next queen of a war-torn nation.

The show will take place 300 years in the future.

Earlier this month, Ethan Peck signed up for the project to play Prince Maxon.

From Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain, The Selection is based on a forthcoming series of books by Kiera Cass.

Dexter' star Jordana Spiro joins Fox medical pilot

Jordana Spiro has won the lead role in a new Fox medical drama pilot.

The project - from CSI's Josh Berman and Drop Dead Diva's Rob Wright - will focus on surgeon Grace Delvin (Spiro).

In order to save her debt-ridden brother, Delvin is forced to work after hours as a 'mob doctor' for criminals, according to Deadline.

Spiro recently appeared in the sixth season of Dexter and also featured on Harry's Law, as well as playing the lead in TBS sitcom My Boys.

Necessary Roughness star Jaime Lee Kirchner will also appear in Berman and Wright's untitled pilot. The actress will play a surgical resident who works alongside Delvin and also happens to be the daughter of the hospital board's chairman.

Kirchner previously starred in NBC medical drama Mercy and has also appeared on CSI and Dollhouse.

Justified's Michael Dinner will direct the medical pilot and will also executive produce alongside Berman and Wright.

Batman Begins' star Linus Roache joins ABC sci-fi pilot

Linus Roache has joined a new ABC drama pilot from Independence Day's Roland Emmerich.

The project focuses on Carter (Max Thieriot), a science student who learns that he is the chosen one to destroy the forces of evil.

Batman Begins star Roache will play Senator Teras, an enigmatic politician with ambitions for the White House, according to Deadline.

The actor played Michael Cutter on Law & Order from 2008 to 2010 and recently reprised the role on spinoff Law & Order: SVU.

He will next be seen in ITV's Titanic, from Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes.

Veteran actor Martin Landau was previously cast in Emmerich's pilot. The North by Northwest star will play blind German ex-soldier Mr Armin.

Emmerich will direct and also co-wrote his new pilot with 2012 and 10,000 BC collaborator Harald Kloser.

Other drama pilots picked up by ABC include Shawn Ryan's Last Resort with Robert Patrick and Glee's Max Adler and supernatural thriller 666 Park Avenue starring Lost's Terry O'Quinn and Charlie's Angels actress Rachael Taylor.

The Artist' star Missi Pyle joins 'Glee's Mike O'Malley in Fox pilot

The Artist star Missi Pyle has joined Fox comedy pilot Prodigy Bully.

Pyle - who played Constance in the Oscar-winning film - will play a lead role in the project, according to Deadline.

Glee's Mike O'Malley has written and will also star in Prodigy Bully, which follows Audie Murphy, a young boy genius who uses his brains and brawn to manipulate others.

Pyle, who has recently appeared on Two and a Half Men and The Mentalist, will portray Audie's mother Celeste, while O'Malley will play his father.

The role of Audie is yet to be cast, though 90210's Hayley Holmes has signed up to play the boy's sister.

Cody Sullivan will play the gifted and wealthy Colby, a student at Audie's school, while Ysa Penajero has been cast as Heather Kwitkowski-Welch, another student who catches Audie's eyes.

Southland's John Wells will also work on the pilot, having previously worked with O'Malley on Showtime's Shameless.

O'Malley and Wells will be joined as executive producers by Glee director Paris Barclay and Andrew Stearn.

Scream 4' Nico Tortorella reunites with Kevin Williamson on Fox pilot

Nico Tortorella will star in Fox's serial killer drama pilot from Kevin Williamson.

The actor - who appeared in the Williamson-written Scream 4 last year - joins the previously-cast Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy, according to Deadline.

The untitled pilot will follow Ryan Hardy (Bacon), an ex-FBI agent lured back into active service to hunt down Joe Carroll (Purefoy), a serial killer who leads a murderous cult.

Tortorella - who has also starred in ABC Family's Make It or Break It - will play Will Wilson, a friend of one of Carroll's victims.

X-Men star Shawn Ashmore, Twilight's Valorie Curry and Alcatraz actress Jeananne Goossen will also appear in the Williamson pilot.

The Vampire Diaries director Marcos Siega will helm the project, which will be produced by Warner Bros TV and Williamson's Outerbanks Entertainment.

Dane Cook signs on to NBC comedy pilot

Dane Cook has signed up for NBC comedy pilot Next Caller Please.

The comedian will play a sexist DJ at a satellite radio station who is joined by a new feminist co-host, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Collette Wolfe will portray Cook's character's co-host Stella, while Joy Osmanski will star as a producer who signs Stella to the show.

In December 2011, Cook announced that he had put his stand-up comedy career on hold to work on acting projects.

He has previously appeared in the films My Best Friend's Girl and Dan in Real Life.

Other projects in the pipeline at NBC include a remake of British prison drama Bad Girls featuring Downton Abbey's Zoe Boyle and Jurnee Smollett from Friday Night Lights.

It was also announced that Cougar Town star Josh Hopkins will appear in the network's comedy pilot Lady Friends.

David Arquette joins ABC comedy pilot 'The Smart One'

David Arquette has signed on to appear in The Smart One.

The Scream star will play Malin Akerman's husband in the upcoming ABC project, TV Line reports.

The project, which centers on two rival sisters, also stars Portia de Rossi.

The show's production team includes de Rossi's wife Ellen DeGeneres and Samantha Who? co-creator Donald Todd.

Other projects in development at ABC include a sci-fi drama from Independence Day's Roland Emmerich starring Linus Roache (Batman Begins), and Shawn Ryan's Last Resort with Robert Patrick and Glee's Max Adler.

Supernatural thriller 666 Park Avenue - starring Lost's Terry O'Quinn and Charlie's Angels actress Rachael Taylor - has also been picked up by the network.

Arquette recently revealed that he consulted his therapist about introducing his daughter to his new girlfriend because he was worried it wasn't the right time to do so.

The actor split from wife Courteney Cox in October 2010.

Princess Bride' star Cary Elwes joins ABC comedy pilot 'Prairie Dogs'

Cary Elwes has been cast in a new ABC comedy pilot.

The Princess Bride actor will portray Rams - an eccentric designer with a distinctive sense of fashion - in Prairie Dogs, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Elwes appeared in ABC's pilot of Wonder Woman last year and currently has a large number of TV and movie projects in either pre-production or post-production.

Prairie Dogs stars Kal Penn (Harold & Kumar) as Neil, an office worker who becomes a victim of identity theft.

When Neil discovers that the thief has improved his life, he hires the criminal to help him better himself.

Charlotte Newhouse, a former member of LA comedy troupe The Groundlings, was recently cast in Prairie Dogs as Neil's fun-loving colleague.

The pilot will also star Dayo Okeniyi (The Hunger Games) and Michaela Watkins (Wanderlust).

Christopher Lloyd to star in 'Only Fools and Horses' US remake

Christopher Lloyd has joined the cast of the Only Fools and Horses US remake.

The Back to the Future star will play the grandfather of Del (John Leguizamo) and Rodney (Dustin Ybarra), according to Deadline.

Like the original UK comedy, the potential ABC series will follow the trio as they concoct get-rick-quick schemes in their attempts to become millionaires.

Happy Endings actor BJ Bales has also been cast as Trigger, who has been reinvented as a 'ghetto-talking con man' and Del and Rodney's 'perpetual enemy'.

In the BBC's Only Fools and Horses - which ran from 1981 to 2003 - the dim-witted Trigger was played by Roger Lloyd-Pack, while Del and Rodney's granddad was portrayed by Lennard Pearce, until the actor's death in 1984.

David Jason, who played Del in the original, recently suggested that the remake will struggle, arguing that the show's concept won't "travel across the pond".

Happy Endings writers Steven Cragg and Brian Bradley have adapted Only Fools and Horses for US television and will executive produce alongside Jeff Golenberg.

Elizabeth Perkins has signed up for the ABC comedy pilot How to Live with Your Parents for the Rest of Your Life.

The former Weeds actress will play Elaine, the mother of the recently-divorced Polly (Sarah Chalke).

On the show, single mother Polly moves back in with her parents, Elaine and Max. The parents are described by Deadline as "eccentric" and "full of life".

How to Live with Your Parents is a multi-camera sitcom from Accidentally on Purpose executive producer Claudia Lonow.

Perkins starred in more than 60 episodes of Showtime comedy-drama Weeds as Celia Hodes from 2005 to 2009.

She has had guest spots on The Closer and Monk as well as appearing in the 2011 film Hop.

Twilight star Ashley Greene has joined the cast of ABC pilot Americana.

The drama, which is set in the fashion world, is from Grey's Anatomy's Mark Gordon.

Greene will play Alice Clarke, a young designer who works for fashion guru Robert Soulter (Anthony LaPaglia), according to Deadline.

The actress plays Alice Cullen in the Twilight films and also starred in ABC drama Pan Am.

Former Lost star Emilie De Ravin, Brothers & Sisters actor Ken Olin and The Descent's Natalie Mendoza are among the other stars confirmed to appear in the Americana pilot.

The script has been written by Michael Seitzman, with Salt's Phillip Noyce attached to direct.

Alias' star Victor Garber signs for NBC pilot 'Notorious'

Victor Garber is to star in NBC drama pilot Notorious.

The project, from Friday Night Lights writer Liz Heldens, will focus on an undercover female detective.

When the heiress she grew up with is murdered, the detective assumes a new guise and infiltrates her wealthy family.

Alias star Garber will play Robert Lawson, the head of the clan who also serves as CEO of Lawson Pharmaceuticals, according to Deadline.

Wealthy and stubborn, Robert has two wives and a mistress and will not tolerate disobedience from his four children.

Garber's recent roles include a guest stint on NBC's The Firm and providing the voice of Charlie on ABC's short-lived Charlie's Angels remake.

He has also appeared in such films as 1993's Sleepless in Seattle, 1997's Titantic and 2008's Milk.

Notorious will be executive produced by Alphas execs Gail Berman, Lloyd Braun and Gene Stein.

Majandra Delfino will appear alongside Mandy Moore in a new ABC comedy pilot.

The project, directed by Night at the Museum's Shawn Levy, will star Moore as Annie, a newlywed who gets the chance to run a hip new restaurant with her husband.

However, when she returns to her hometown, Annie comes under siege from her demanding family.

Former Roswell star Delfino will play Annie's divorced sister who is still living with her parents, according to Deadline.

The actress recently appeared in two episodes of TNT's axed comedy Men of a Certain Age and also starred in ABC Family sitcom State of Georgia.

The Office's Bob Fisher and Kitchen Confidential's Stacy Traub have scripted the Moore / Delfino pilot, which will be co-produced by 20th Century Fox TV.

Heroes' star Hayden Panettiere signs for ABC's 'Nashville

Heroes actress Hayden Panettiere is plotting a return to TV in ABC's country music drama Nashville.

Panettiere is the latest star to sign up for the project, which is billed as a "family soap" with the backdrop of the eponymous city's music scene.

The show will centre on Nashville superstar Rayna James, who is forced by her label to team with teen music sensation Juliette Barnes. Panettiere is cast as Barnes.

The 22-year-old does have a musical background, releasing the single 'Wake Up Call' in 2008.

Panettiere's most recent major roles came in Lifetime's Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy and Scream 4.

Deadwood star Powers Boothe, The Hour actor Sam Palladio and General Hospital's Jonathan Jackson have also won roles in the Nashville pilot. RJ Cutler will direct.

Charlie Sheen's 'Anger Management' adds Brett Butler

Brett Butler has joined Charlie Sheen's new comedy series Anger Management.

The sitcom - loosely based on the 2003 film of the same name - will star Sheen as Charlie, a therapist who suffers from his own anger issues.

Butler will play a bartender who works at Charlie's favourite haunt, according to Deadline.

Sheen was fired from CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men in early 2011 amid accusations of drug abuse.

Similarly, Butler's ABC sitcom Grace Under Fire was abruptly cancelled in 1998 following the star's painkiller addiction.

Both Two and a Half Men and Grace Under Fire were created by Chuck Lorre, who has insisted that he has no plans to watch Anger Management.

Two And A Half Men co-creator Lee Aronsohn appeared to react to Butler's casting on Twitter, writing: "Hmm… what could possibly be better than ONE bridge-burning loose cannon?"

Anger Management - which also stars Selma Blair and Noureen DeWulf - will premiere on FX in June.

The Wire star Robert Wisdom has joined the cast of ABC's Nashville.

The actor will play charismatic mayoral candidate Coleman Caldwell, according to Deadline.

Nashville will focus on the eponymous city's music scene and has been written by Oscar-winning Thelma & Louise writer Callie Khouri.

Wisdom's recent credits include the movie Rampart and recurring roles on USA's Burn Notice and The CW's Supernatural.

Other stars confirmed to appear in the Nashville pilot include Deadwood's Powers Boothe, The Hour actor Sam Palladio and General Hospital star Jonathan Jackson.

The project will be directed by RJ Cutler and produced by Lionsgate and ABC Studios.

NBC's 'Beautiful People' like 'Blade Runner', says Megalyn Echikunwoke

NBC's new sci-fi pilot Beautiful People resembles Blade Runner, according to star Megalyn Echikunwoke.

The drama is set in a future world in which humans co-exist with life-like androids, known as 'Mechanicals'.

"It's the same themes as Blade Runner or [2001 film] A.I., or any of those futuristic, robots-in-the-future type themes," Echikunwoke told Collider.

"That story has been told before. What's different about this is the way it's written and the execution. That's what's really going to hook people."

The actress plays the boss of attorney Gregory (James Murray) in the pilot, which has been written by Cougar Town's Michael McDonald.

"He's also my childhood crush," she revealed. "I've just graduated law school and become a lawyer, and I work at my father's firm. We work together on cases. The cast is really cool and really interesting."

Other stars attached to Beautiful People include include Frances Conroy, Ernie Hudson, Patrick Heusinger, Andrea Parker, Jud Tylor, Madisen Beaty and Cody Christian.

House of Lies director Stephen Hopkins will helm the pilot, which will be co-produced by ABC Studios and Universal TV.
