'Sex and the City' prequel casts Katie Findlay, Ellen Wong
Katie Findlay and Ellen Wong have landed roles in The CW's pilot The Carrie Diaries.
The drama, which is a prequel to Sex and the City, is based on the book of the same name by Candace Bushnell and focuses on a teenage Carrie Bradshaw as she attends high school in 1980s Connecticut.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory star AnnaSophia Robb has already signed up for the lead role of Carrie.
She will now be joined by Findlay and Wong in the project, Deadline reports.
Wong will play Carrie's best friend in high school, Jill Thompson. Also known as 'The Mouse', Jill is said to be intelligent and loyal.
Meanwhile, Findlay will star in the project as Carrie's oldest friend Maggie Landers, the police chief's daughter. Whereas Carrie is beginning to explore Manhattan, Maggie has no desire to leave her town.

The Carrie Diaries is being developed by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who have previously collaborated on shows such as Gossip Girl, The O.C. and Hart of Dixie.
