Stewart clarifies 'Twilight' fans remarks

Twilight star Kristen Stewart has clarified remarks that she made about fans of the vampire saga.

The actress was criticised by followers after telling Nylon that she found some of the attention lavished on the movie to be "f**king psychotic".

Speaking to E! News, she insisted that she "loved the fans", saying: "I feel like I am one of the fans and any direct interaction I've ever had with them has been the most warm and pleasant and enthusiastic. If anything, it's the biggest driving force that could propel you to do something."

Explaining her previous comments, she said: "It's not normal for me to be in a situation that Twilight puts you in. It's not personally normal for me to see 5,000 screaming girls. But I'm not criticising them for being 'crazy' about me. I’m sort of going, 'Wow, this is just crazy!'"

She also dismissed speculation that she had skipped out on this year's Oscars because she did not consider Twilight to be a "great movie".

"If I was invited to the Oscars, I would be there in a nanosecond," she said. "If I got an invitation to the Oscars, I wouldn’t turn it down!"

Clough family snub 'Damned United'

The family of late football boss Brian Clough reportedly "loathe" the idea of seeing the upcoming biopic based on his early management career.

According to The Guardian, Clough's widow Barbara and their children Elizabeth, Simon and Nigel have rejected an offer from The Damned United director Tom Hooper to see an early screening of the movie.

The Clough family initially objected to David Peace's novel, on which the film is based, due to its portrayal of Clough as a depressed, paranoid alcoholic.

"They absolutely loathe the idea," said Don Shaw, author of Clough's War. "Nigel tried to read The Damned United but gave up because he was so shocked by it. Barbara read one page before she had to stop... They were horrified by the book and won't be seeing the film."

Producer Andy Harries defended the movie, insisting that it takes a more upbeat look at its subject's life. "It's a shame Mrs Clough doesn't want to see the film and it's particular shame that the children haven't responded to our overtures. I find it a bit surprising. He was a public figure all his life and no-one exploited the media more than Clough.

"We didn't dwell on his alcoholism or his decline. That wasn't the story we wanted to tell. In quite tough times, we wanted to make a film with an upbeat ending - you come out of the cinema thinking it was an enjoyable experience and that Clough was a good guy."

The Damned United, starring Michael Sheen as the iconic football manager, is released in cinemas on March 27.

Five more go to 'Cabin In The Woods'

Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchison, Fran Kranz and Jesse Williams have been added to the cast of Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard's The Cabin In The Woods.

The quintet join Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford, who were cast in the horror movie in January. Plot details for the MGM/United Artists film, which marks Cloverfield writer Goddard's directorial debut, are being kept secret.

"Finding this ensemble has been very hard and very rewarding," producer Whedon told The Hollywood Reporter. "Each of the 'kids' is unique, fascinating and talented, and like true friends, the group is more than the sum of its parts.

"These are people you care about, able to go toe to toe with the amazing actors we've corralled thus far, and not unpretty in the bargain. I can't wait to harm them."

The Cabin In The Woods will be released on February 5, 2010.

Johnson: 'I Want Obama To Play Me In A Biopic'

U.S. President Barack Obama has been tipped for an acting career when he retires from the White House - wrestler-turned-Hollywood star Dwayne' The Rock' Johnson wants the politician to play him in a movie about his life.

Johnson claims he's often mistaken for the Democrat, because they both have links to Hawaii and both sound alike - and he's convinced Obama could bulk up to mimic him onscreen.

The Scorpion King star tells Moviefone.com, "Barack Obama (should play me). I hear that (we sound alike) all the time. You know I've gotten to know him, and he's a big time athlete, and loves athletics, so I'm sure he could bulk up."

Johnson admits he's flattered by the comparison to Obama - who he now considers a pal, adding, "All the comparisons have been such an honour - how cool! We make a hell of a pair. We had an opportunity to talk before the election. We talked about everything from our roots in Hawaii, our family and the importance of great leadership for our country, which is certainly one of the many things he provides."

And the actor even discovered there's a huge collection of his movies in the White House: "He (Obama) did tell me that I was one of Michelle Obama's favourite actors. He was telling me that (the girls, Sasha and Malia) were big fans of The Game Plan."

Brand 'Too Busy' For Pirates

British comic Russell Brand fears he may miss out on a role in the fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie - because he is too busy.

The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star was recently rumoured to be in negotiations to play the brother of Johnny Depp's character, Captain Jack Sparrow, in a planned sequel in the hit franchise.

But Brand insists that even if he is offered a part in the film, he might not be able to sign up because he is swamped with other commitments.

He tells Access Hollywood, "There’s been some talk of doing a Pirates movie. But, I’ve got eight other things to do including (new movie) Get Him To The Greek with Judd Apatow… So I don’t know if there’ll be time to be a pirate, I’ve got enough of that in me private life.

"I think it’s a possibility (but) I am rather busy."

The Rock's Uncle Taught Rourke To Wrestle

Mickey Rourke was transformed into a professional wrestler by the uncle of grappler-turned-Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson.

Rourke spent months at former World Wrestling Federation star Afa Anoa'i's Wild Samoan Training Center in Florida to prepare for his role as fallen ring favourite Randy 'The Ram' Johnson in The Wrestler.

And Dwayne Johnson - who used to wrestle under the name The Rock - reveals he kept a close eye on Rourke's transformation from actor to muscle-bound athlete.

He tells Moviefone.com, "My uncle actually trained Mickey for the movie, and he would call me weekly and give me progress reports on Mickey. That's a tough task to go from just being an actor to becoming not only a professional wrestler, but a professional wrestler who's wrestled for 25 years. My uncle was amazed at Mickey's progress and his desire to do everything. That takes commitment."

And Johnson insists he is a huge fan of the film, insisting it accurately depicted the wrestling world.

He adds, "I loved the movie. I thought Mickey's performance was outstanding. I thought that the movie that Darren Aronofsky created was real and memorable. That world - it's a very visceral, authentic world that he created, and I can't say enough great things about the movie, and I'm very proud of Mickey."

Rourke's performance in the movie earned him a Best Actor Oscar nomination - but he lost out to Sean Penn, who took home the prize for Milk at February's ceremony.

Craven 'has no rights over Elm Street'

Wes Craven has confirmed that he is not involved in the upcoming remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street and does not own the rights to his film.

The horror director told Moviehole that it was difficult to get anyone to make the original "avante-garde" film and that Bob Shaye was the only person "that right away got it".

Craven said: "When I did sell it, sold the script, I sold it outright. That was his insistence. I had no choice, otherwise, the film wouldn't have been made.

"So unfortunately, I don't have any ownership in it whatsoever, so they can do whatever they want with it, which is what they're doing. I haven't heard from them at all.

"They're basically just doing a remake. That's all I know. That'd be a tough one to re-see."

He added: "You know, it's had his life. And if they make a better film, maybe it will eclipse the original. I don't know. If they don't, then the original will look even better."

He added that he found it hard to watch Scary Movie, which he said "took my shots" and made him the "laughing stock of it".

Original Freddie Krueger actor Robert Englund has confirmed that he will not reprise his iconic role in the Samuel Bayer-helmed remake.

Hardy: 'Bronson isn't a monster'

Tom Hardy has admitted to growing fond of Britain's most violent prisoner Charles Bronson.

The British actor, who plays the criminal in this week's biopic Bronson, told This Morning that he refused to judge the man he was portraying.

"Over the past four years I was speaking to him two or three times a week," Hardy said. "I grew very fond of him actually. He's a very articulate, gentle, funny and clever man.

"I had to put his past and facts behind him and my job was to study, observe and reflect a man who was in front of me. There was no judgement from me, and I wanted to get as close to his characteristics and hear as many of his stories as I could to help my performance."

Hardy acknowledged that coming face-to-face with Bronson, who was jailed in 1974 for a failed armed robbery and had his sentence extended for repeated violent offences in prison, was a "very odd situation".

"I wanted to get as much out of him in terms of his reactions to my questions," Hardy added. "His mother said I am always welcome at her house, and she is lovely. I obviously can't speak for any of his victims and I can only speak of my personal experiences.

"The man I met wasn't a monster - massive anger problems yes, and hugely charismatic, but very insightful and interesting."

Arterton Flaunts Kissing Ban To Plant One On Gyllenhaal

The actress, who plays a sixth century princess to Gyllenhaal's prince, couldn't help but inject some passion into their smooch - despite the pair's shared understanding that their embraces would remain relatively tame.

Arterton recalls, "There's an unspoken no-tongues rule on set. But I got so carried away, it kind of slipped out."

But the former Bond girl maintains the pleasure was all Gyllenhaal's: "Everyone said I was lucky to be snogging (kissing) him, but he's the lucky one!"

Arnie talks 'T4', 'Expendables' cameos

Arnold Schwarzenegger has shed light on his cameo appearances in Terminator Salvation and The Expendables.

The actor-turned-Governor of California said that he still holds reservations about his role in the new Terminator outing, believing that the franchise should move to distance itself from him.

"They should try to find a way of doing a story that does not include me at all, not even one single shot. I don't believe in that," he told TheArnoldFans.com.

"To kind of have them go out and promote the movie and say Arnold is in the movie and everyone thinks that I'm the Terminator and in fact you only see one second of me in there... I don't think that's the right thing to do. And you know that's the danger of that, and that's why I feel reluctant to be part of the movie in the first place. So it doesn't get promoted that way."

Schwarzenegger, however, is more enthusiastic about his brief appearance for friend Sylvester Stallone in action-drama The Expendables.

"[It] will just be something quick, like I walk out of a hotel or out of a office building and he will walk up and we will bump into each other and there will be some mumbling and then we will walk off," he explained. "So it will be something very simple, that will be again, just a cameo, so that's what we're going to do. I promised him I'd do that and I'm looking forward to that."
