Brandon T. Jackson To Star In CBS' 'Hail Mary

EXCLUSIVE: In his first regular series gig, Tropic Thunder co-star Brandon T. Jackson has been tapped as the male lead opposite Minnie Driver in  CBS' buddy P.I. pilot Hail Mary. Penned by  Jeff Wadlow, the project centers on Mary Beth Baker (Driver), a suburban single mom in Atlanta who, after her teen son gets killed, teams up with her son's best friend KZ (Jackson), a fast-talking con artist from the streets, to solve her son's murder and other crimes. Jackson, repped by CAA and ML Management, most recently appeared in Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son and guest starred on Fox's Raising Hope.

Robert Carlyle & Emma Bell Join Broadcast Pilots

Former Stargate Universe star Robert Carlyle is set to portray Rumplestiltskin in ABC's drama pilot Once Upon a Time, about a woman drawn into a town where the magic and mystery of fairy tales may be real and hold the key to unlocking the mysteries of her troubled past. An expert on black magic, Rumplestiltskin agrees to help Snow White and Prince Charming counteract the Evil Queen's dark spells, but for a price.

Emma Bell has been added to NBC's drama pilot Reconstruction (formerly The Crossing). Written by Josh Brand and directed by Peter Horton, the project is set in a Missouri town during the post-Civil War Reconstruction era and centers on Jason (Martin Henderson), a soldier who crosses the country and settles into a complicated town where he is welcomed as its savior. Bell, repped by ICM and Brillstein, will play a strong-willed woman who denounces Jason as a coward. She recently recurred on AMC's The Walking Dead

Hank Azaria To Star In NBC's Comedy Pilot 'Free Agents

EXCLUSIVE: Hank Azaria has been tapped to star in NBC's single-camera comedy pilot Free Agents, lifting the contingency on the project. The romantic comedy, based on the UK series of the same name, explores the attraction between two quirky PR executives working together - Alex (Azaria) and Helen - who both are on the rebound, Alex from a divorce and Helen from the loss of a fiance. The project brings Azaria back to NBC, where he recurred on Friends and starred in the short-lived comedy series Imagine That. On TV, Azaria, a key voice cast member of animated juggernaut The Simpsons, most recently headlined Showtime's offbeat series Huff. In film, he co-starred in Love and Other Drugs and next plays Gargamel in the Smurfs movie.

John C. McGinley, Adam Arkin & Larry Wilmore Join Comedy Pilots

Scrubs alum John C. McGinley is set and Adam Arkin is in final negotiations to join the ABC multi-camera comedy pilot Smothered, from Andrew Reich and Ted Cohen. The Warner Bros. TV-produced project centers on young couple Zack (Kyle Howard) and Gillian, who find themselves smothered by their two very different sets of parents, Zack's (Marcia Gay Harden, Arkin) and Gillian's (Julie White, McGinley).

TV writer-Daily Show correspondent Larry Wilmore has joined CBS' untitled Peter Knight comedy pilot. The project, from Sony and Happy Madison, is a workplace ensemble centered around the young adult employees of a high-powered venture capital firm. Wilmore will play the intimating boss who has a playful side and cares about his employees. The Bernie Mac Show creator Wilmore, repped by UTA and 3 Arts, was recently seen in Dinner for Schmucks.

Emily VanCamp Set As The Lead In ABC's 'Revenge' & Other Pilot Castings

Brothers & Sisters alumna Emily VanCamp is returning to ABC as the star of a potential new primetime drama, Revenge. VanCamp has landed the lead in the project, written by Swingtown creator Mike Kelley and to be directed by Phillip Noyce. It is a contemporary re-imagining of The Count of Monte Cristo from a female perspective and centers on Emily Thorn (Van Camp), a mysterious woman who comes to the Hamptons to exact revenge on the people who destroyed her family. VanCamp, who joined Brothers & Sisters midway through the first season, left the family drama last fall. She previously co-starred on the WB's Everwood.

Lights Out co-star Meredith Hagner has been cast as the second lead opposite Lucy Griffiths in in the CW's zombie thriller Awakening. The project, from WBTV and Reveille, is about two sisters (Griffiths, Hagner) coming of age and facing off against one another amidst the beginning of a zombie uprising. The pilot is in second position to Lights Out, which has been struggling in the ratings. Hagner, repped by Abrams Artists and Suskin Management, also recurred on USA's Royal Pains.

Mo Gaffney has been added to the cast of ABC's comedy pilot My Freakin' Family, which centers on young parents Anna (Ellen Woglom) and Raj (Ravi Patel), whose lives change after they have a baby and the four grandparents with very different cultural backgrounds descend upon their lives. Gaffney, repped by Stone Manners Salners, will play Anna's opinionated mother.

Shane McRae has been cast in CBS' untitled Jeff and Jackie Filgo comedy pilot (aka Homegrown) starring Becki Newton. It centers on a blue-collar guy who wrestles with how to parent his unmarried grown daughter (Newton) and her 12-year-old son while sharing a house with them as well as his wife and recently widowed mother. McRae, repped by Gersh and TNT Management, will play the boy's father. He can be seen in The Adjustment Bureau.

Riley Smith (24) is set to co-star in CW's pilot Cooper & Stone. The pilot, from writer Laurie Arent and CBS TV Studios, is about Jenna Cooper (Alex Breckenridge) and Stone, two smart young female detectives on Chicago’s North Side who are best friends, equally adept at discussing fashion, music and pop culture as they are solving homicides. Smith will play a hot-shot vice detective with the Chicago PD who is transferred to the Northside from the Southside after his cover is blown in a high-risk operation. He enjoys needling Stone, whom he competed against at the academy, and it seems they have a history of sexual tension as well as professional tension.

Chris Carmack and Robert Hoffman round out the cast of ABC's dancing drama pilot Grace, which centers on famous choreographer and womanizer Michael Grace (Eric Roberts). Impression-repped Hoffman will play a hot dancer from his company; Carmack will play a musician.

Nancy Travis has joined the CW's drama pilot Hart of Dixie as a guest star/recurring. The project, from writer Leila Gerstein, WBTV and Fake Empire, is a comedic drama centering on a young New York City doctor, Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson), who inherits a medical practice in a small Southern town inhabited by an eclectic group of characters. Gersh-repped Travis will play a no-nonsense nurse who becomes a surrogate mother to Zoe.

Madchen Amick, Kelli Garner Get Pilot Leads

Madchen Amick has landed the female lead in Stephan Gaghan's NBC drama pilot S.I.L.A., a complex drama in the vein of Traffic set in the world of crime, law enforcement and politics in modern-day Los Angeles. Amick, repped by Gersh and KW Entertainment, will play Mary, who came from a blue-collar background to become a successful Century City lawyer.

Kelli Garner (My Generation) is set to co-star opposite Christina Ricci in ABC's drama pilot Pan Am, a sexy soap set against the Jet Age about a group of pilots and flight attendants working at Pan Am Airlines in the 1960s. CAA-repped Garner will play Kate, a well-educated, sharply intelligent and tri-lingual stewardess who is also a bit of a rebel.

Brian Hallisay has joined CW's zombie thriller Awakening. Jeffrey Tambor Joins NBC's 'Bent', 'Work It' Finds Lead, Two Added To 'Council Of Dads

Arrested Development alum Jeffrey Tambor is set to co-star in NBC's single-camera comedy pilot Bent. The project, from writer/exec producer Tad Quill, is a romantic comedy about recently divorced Type-A single mother Alex (Amanda Peet), who tries hard not to fall for sexy surfer-dude contractor Pete (David Walton), who she’s hired to re-do her kitchen. Tambor will play Pete's dad, a former actor who lives with Pete and needs to be driven everywhere. A performer who'd like to get back in the game, he plays piano in the Nordstrom lobby and still chases after the ladies. Tambor, repped by Gersh and the Burstein Co., is coming out in Win Win, The Hangover 2 and Paul.

Ben Koldyke has landed the second lead opposite Amaury Nolasco in ABC's comedy pilot Work It. The multicamera project, from Andrew Reich and Ted Cohen, is about out-of-work car salesmen Lee (Koldyke) and Angel (Nolasco), who realize that it is a woman's world and decide that in order to find work again and succeed they must dress as women to get jobs as pharmaceutical reps. Also cast in the pilot is Kristin Eggers.

Rick Gomez (Justified) and Richard T. Jones (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) have joined Peter Tolan's comedy pilot for Fox Council of Dads. The pilot, which is being directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, tells the story of Michael, who just before he dies enlists five friends from all aspects of his life to become a “council of dads” to his two young children. APA-repped Gomez will play the "fitness dad," a super-intense guy self-appointed to make sure that Michael's kids exercise, eat lots of bran, and stay lean and mean. Jones, repped by the Kohner Agency and Industry, will play the "homework dad."

ABC Pilot Castings: Natalie Dormer To Star In 'Poe', Judith Light Joins 'Kids

The Tudors alumna Natalie Dormer is set as the female lead opposite Chris Egan in ABC's drama pilot Poe. The project, from Warner Bros. TV and Lin Pictures, is a crime procedural following Edgar Allan Poe (Egan), the world’s very first detective, as he uses unconventional methods to investigate dark mysteries in 1840s Boston. Dormer, repped by ICM and U.K.'s United Agents, will play Celeste, a beautiful spitfire, with a firm moral center - the logical yin to Poe's wildly theoretical yang. She owns the newspaper for which Poe writes, having inherited it from her fiancé who died in mysterious circumstances.

Judith Light has been tapped for a regular role in ABC's half-hour pilot Other People's Kids. The multicamera comedy, written by Hunter Covington and directed by Michael Fresco, centers on Adam (Jesse Bradford), a 32-year-old guy with no responsibilities who suddenly finds himself with an insta-family when he falls in love with an older woman, Michelle (Bonnie Sommerville) who has two kids, an ex-husband, and ex-in-laws. Light, repped by Gersh and TAO Management, will play Michelle's ex-mother-in-law, an eccentric older woman living with her lover who likes to keep all 10 fingers deep in family matters.

'Pan Am' Hires Male Lead, 'Smothered' Gets Female Lead And More Pilot Castings

Jonah Lotan (Generation Kill) has landed the male lead in ABC's drama pilot Pan Am. The project, from Sony Pictures TV, writer Jack Orman and director Thomas Schlamme, is a sexy soap set against the Jet Age that revolves around pilots and flight attendants working at the iconic Pan Am airlines in the 1960s. Lotan, repped by Gersh and Luber Roklin, will play the charismatic and confident Dean, who has just been made captain of the amazing new Pan Am clipper the Majestic.

Brooke D'Orsay has landed the female lead in the ABC multi-camera comedy pilot Smothered, from Andrew Reich and Ted Cohen. The Warner Bros. Gabriel Mann has joined ABC's drama pilot Revenge. Also cast in the pilot is Connor Paolo.

Brian O’Byrne is set to co-star in NBC's drama pilot Prime Suspect. The remake of the British series centers on Jane Timoney (Maria Bello), an iconoclastic female detective who has to make her bones in a tough New York precinct dominated by men. Gersh-repped O'Byrne will play a detective on the squad who cut Jane out of working cases.

Caprica co-star Sasha Roiz has booked the last series regular role in NBC's drama pilot Grimm, a dark but fantastical cop drama about a world in which characters inspired by Grimm’s Fairy Tales exist. It centers on Nick Burckhardt (David Giuntoli), a detective who starts to see humans as beast/animals and discovers that he has a legacy - to protect "humans" from these beasts. Roiz, repped by Domain and Pearl Hanan Management, will play the police captain.

Kevin Chapman (Brotherhood) has been added to the cast of CBS' drama pilot Person of Interest, produced by JJ Abrams and written by Jonah Nolan. The crime drama centers on a CIA agent (Jim Caviezel), presumed dead, who is recruited by a reclusive billionaire (Michael Emerson) to wage war against violent criminals in New York City. Chapman, repped by TalentWorks and Ellen Meyer Management, will play a New York homicide detective who helps them.

Margo Harshman has been added to NBC's single-camera comedy pilot Bent. Kebbel, repped by ICM and Management 360, will play a sexy young siren.

Broadway actress Afton Williamson (David Mamet's Race) has joined CBS' untitled Susannah Grant pilot. Jonathan Demme is directing he supernatural medical drama, from CBS TV Studios and Timberman/Beverly, which centers on an ultra-competitive surgeon (Patrick Wilson) whose life is changed forever when his ex-wife (Jennifer Ehle), a doctor running a free clinic, dies and begins teaching him what life is all about from the hereafter. Williamson, repped by Suskin Management, will play a social worker.

Brian d’Arcy James has joined NBC's Broadway drama Smash playing Debra Messing’s husband.

Jeremy Sisto To Star In ABC Comedy Pilot 'Suburgatory'

Law & Order alum Jeremy Sisto is making a switch to comedy with a starring role in ABC's comedy pilot Suburgatory. The pilot, from creator Emily Kapnek, centers on Tessa (Jane Levy), a teenage girl who is moved by her dad George (Sisto) from Manhattan, where she grew up, to her version of hell: the suburbs. Also cast in the pilot is Carly Chaikin (The Last Song) as Dahlia, a trendy girl and the biggest bitch at Tessa's new high school. She is with Paradigm and the Hofflund Co. ICM-repped Sisto previously starred on NBC's Kidnapped and HBO's Six Feet Under.

Terry O'Quinn To Co-Star In Marc Cherry's ABC Pilot 'Hallelujah

Lost co-star Terry O'Quinn is returning to ABC with a lead role in Marc Cherry's drama pilot Hallelujah. Once again, he will play a mysterious character, but this time, it looks like he is a baddie. Hallelujah is set in the town of Hallelujah, Tenn., which is being torn apart by the forces of good and evil and whose fortunes change when a stranger comes to town, bringing justice, peace and possibly restoring faith. O'Quinn will play Del, a local millionaire who virtually owns the town. Described as a latter-day J.R. Ewing, Del donates heavily to the local church and various charities, but under his upstanding persona is a corrupt bully who will resort to any means to get his way.

This development season, O'Quinn was originally attached to star with fellow Lost co-star Michael Emerson in the J.J. Abrams-produced action drama Odd Jobs, from writers Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec. After the project didn't go to pilot at NBC, both Emerson and O'Quinn were heavily pursued for other pilots. Emerson picked another Abrams-produced show, CBS' Person of Interest, while O'Quinn settled on Hallelujah. O'Quinn's role as John Locke on Lost earned him 3 Emmy nominations and one win in 2007.

Mario Cantone, Joe Mazzello And Reggie Lee Among Latest Pilot Cast Additions

Former Sex and the City showrunner Michael Patrick King is bringing an alum from the hit HBO series to his new project, NBC's drama pilot A Mann's World. Mario Cantone, who played blunt Sicilian-American gay event planner Anthony Marantino in the Sex and the City series and two movies, has been added to the cast of A Mann's World, which stars Don Johnson as Allan Mann, a 50something handsome and sexy straight Beverly Hills hairdresser who is struggling to stay young and relevant in a place where looks are everything. Gersh-repped Cantone will play Allan's salon manager, an opinionated, single gay man who handles all the moment-to-moment decisions about running the salon and acts as the "mother" to the salon work family. Also cast in the pilot is Jesse Jones, repped by the Gage Group and Untitled, who will play Allan's son.

The Social Network and The Pacific co-star Joe Mazzello is set to co-star in ABC's drama pilot  Georgetown. Written by Will Fetters, it centers on Andrew Pierce (Jimmy Wolk), an effortlessly charming and brilliant Yale graduate and the youngest Presidential speech-writer on record. Mazzello, repped by UTA and Eric Podwall, will play Peter, another junior White House staffer who lives with his best friends Andrew, Nikki  (Katie Cassidy) and Sam (Daisy Betts). Also cast in the pilot is Condola Rashad as an ambition lesbian journalist reluctantly working the Style segment of PoliticalCapitol.com when she'd rather be covering hard(er) news.

Reggie Lee (Prison Break) has joined the cast on NBC's drama pilot Grimm. Created by David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf, Grimm is described as a dark but fantastical cop drama about a world in which characters inspired by Grimm’s Fairy Tales exist. Jennifer Morrison Set As The Lead In ABC Pilot 'Once Upon A Time', 3 Others Cast

EXCLUSIVE: House alumna Jennifer Morrison has landed the lead in ABC's drama pilot Once Upon a Time. Josh Dallas, Jamie Dornan and Jared Gilmore also have been cast in the project, from writers/executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. It centers on Anna (Morrison), a woman drawn into the small town of Storybrook, where the magic and mystery of fairy tales may be real.

The 10-year-old Gilmore, who has recurred as Bobby Draper on Mad Men, will play the pivotal role of Henry, Anna's biological son and the only resident of Storybrook who is not under the spell of the Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla) and tracks down his mom to enlist her help. Dallas will play Prince Charming. Dornan will play the handsome and authoritative sheriff of Storybrooke. Following her exit from House, on which she played Dr. Allison Cameron, Morrison has recurred on How I Met Your Mother this season. Gilmore is with AEF and David Dean Management.

Michael Chiklis To Star In Conan O'Brien-Produced Comedy Pilot 'Vince Uncensored

No Ordinary Family star Michael Chiklis is returning to comedy as the star of CBS' half-hour pilot Vince Uncensored, from veteran sitcom writer Phoef Sutton, Conan O'Brien's Conaco and Warner Bros. TV.

For Chiklis, the pilot is in second position to the freshman ABC drama No Ordinary Family, which he stars in and co-executive produces. The actor, who won an Emmy for The Shield, was planning to sit this pilot season out but was offered  CBS two comedy pilots: Vince Uncensored and the untitled Filgos project. Because he had been tied on No Ordinary Family, which just wrapped production, he could technically only do a comedy pilot as half-hour pilots start production later than dramas. Landing Chiklis was a big priority for CBS. To do that, the network also signed a development/holding deal with the actor behind his pact for Vince Uncensored.

As for Vince Uncensored, it centers on a man (Chiklis) who, after a life-changing experience, decides to take a more honest approach to his life, work and family. Sutton wrote the script and is executive producing with O’Brien and David Kissinger. WME-repped Chiklis starred on comedic drama The Commish and comedy Daddio before switching to drama with FX's The Shield and ABC's No Ordinary Family.

Meanwhile, the sets of No Ordinary Family were taken down on the Disney lot today. A rep for the studio said the space will be used for a PGA conference. While folding sets away when production is done to make room for filming pilots and other activities is not unusual, with the show struggling in the ratings, the move could become permanent. After a very promising start, No Ordinary Family was assigned one of the most competitive slots this season, Tuesday 8 PM, where it has faced an uphill battle against Glee and NCIS

Donal Logue To Star In Marc Cherry's Drama Pilot 'Hallelujah'

After a stint on FX with Terriers, Donal Logue is returning to broadcast television as the lead in Marc Cherry's Hallelujah drama pilot for ABC. The project is set in the town of Hallelujah, Tenn., where the forces of good and evil are exemplified by hardworking, moral diner owner Rye Turner (Logue), a family man who has had a run of tragic luck, and his long-time nemesis, corrupt millionaire Del Roman (Terry O'Quinn), who is a law unto himself. Del seems to be winning the battle until mysterious newcomer Jared O'Neal (Jesse L. Martin) arrives in town. The pilot brings Logue back to ABC, where he toplined the underrated comedy series Knights of Prosperity.

Jordana Spiro To Star In ABC Comedy Pilot 'Lost And Found

I hear former My Boys star Jordana Spiro has been tapped as the lead in ABC's comedy pilot Lost and Found. The multicamera comedy, from Warner Bros. TV and creator Marisa Coughlan, centers on Jo (Spiro), a narcissistic 30something New York City bartender and party girl whose life is turned upside-down when the conservative 18-year-old son she gave up for adoption at 16 turns up on her doorstep.

For a second consecutive pilot season, Spiro was pursued for multiple projects. Last year, she settled on NBC's anthology comedy Love Bites. The pilot went to series but Spiro had to exit after 3 episodes because of her commitment to TBS' My Boys. With the cult comedy now officially canceled, Spiro, repped by ICM and Principal, was offered several pilots and picked Lost and Found. Spiro's original Love Bites co-star Becki Newton also booked the lead in a multicamera comedy pilot this season, an untitled CBS family sitcom from creators/executive producers Jeff and Jackie Filgo. Coincidentally, the Filgos also serve as exec producers on Lost and Found.
